First Quest

It had taken Xiao Yun nearly an entire hour to reach the east gate.

Standing outside and inside the gate were four guards in silver armors, two for each side.

Xiao Yun walked up to one of them and asked: "Hello, do you know where I go to get Restoration Seeds? I have been told that they are around here."

The guard glanced at him for a moment before pointing towards the open field where dozens of people could be seen fighting boar-like animals.

"You can get them by killing these Wild Boars or you can try your luck and look around for the Restoration Flower."

Xiao Yun nodded and walked towards the wide grassland where people were fighting Wild Boars, and he stood there silently to watch them.

Some were using swords and others were casting magic as they kill the Wild Boars; it was a spectacular scene that he has never seen before.

—So this is a game, huh. People here can kill animals out in the open together and laugh with each other as they do it without getting in trouble.

This scene widened Xiao Yun's view and changed his impression of games.

He once believed that playing games were just people wasting their time in some world created by technology, but he most certainly didn't expect something like this.

Blood flew as the Wild Boars are repeatedly slaughtered by the people; it looked extremely realistic.

Even the smell of the Wild Boars being roasted by fire magic smells like burning meat.

Xiao Yun was really impressed.

Despite never playing any other games prior to this, even he could tell that such a feat was impressive.

To create a virtual world so realistic that even he cannot tell the difference between this world and the real world was astounding.

After watching Wild Boars getting slaughtered for many minutes did Xiao Yun begin looking around this Restoration Flower.

Because of the crowd near the Wild Boars, he didn't want to get close, so he decided to just look around for these flowers.

"Oh? Is this it?"

It had taken him only a few moments of searching to find this flower with a slightly darker shade of green than the ones around it, and in the middle of this flower was a small, white bead.

He went to pick it up.

The moment he pulled the flower off the ground, a notification appeared before him.

And when he looked at the flower in his hands, the white bead had fallen off the flower and onto his palm.

The white bead then cracked open, releasing the three small seeds that were inside.

Xiao Yun placed the three seeds into his pocket, before continuing on his search.

And a few seconds later, he spotted another Restoration Flower.

If the guards knew of how easily Xiao Yun was spotting these Restoration Flowers known for their similarities with the tens of thousands of flowers in this grassland, then they would surely be shocked.

But of course, being an Assassin even in real life, he had to have good vision, or more precisely, he needed to have a sharp eyesight that can spot even the smallest of objects like needles and traps from meters away during his missions.

If it weren't for his sharp eyesight, then he would not have gotten as far as he did and would have surely died to some trap long ago.

It did not take long for Xiao Yun to finish the quest given to him by Jasmine, ten minutes of actual questing at most. He had spent more time getting here than finishing the quest itself.

—There is still so many more of these flowers around here…it'd be a waste to leave them here. And that lady might give me extra potions if I gave her more than needed.

With that decision, Xiao Yun continued to pluck Restoration Flowers, quickly gathering over 30 of them in just a few more minutes.

It was only after he gathered at least 50 Restoration Seed did he feel satisfied and feel like returning.

When Xiao Yun returned to the gate, the guard he spoke to stopped him.

"That was quick. Gave up already?" he said with a grin.

"No, I already got what I needed." Xiao Yun showed the guard the handful of Restoration Seeds he had in his grasp, dumbfounding him.

"You...this...how?"

"I guess I was pretty lucky," he smiled before turning to leave.

The guard watched him leave with wide eyes and his jaw dropped.

Half an hour later.

"You're back already?" Jasmine waved at him from her potion stand. "How was it? Did you find some Restoration Seeds?"

"I found some," he replied.

"Great! Let me see them."

Xiao Yun nodded and retrieved a whole handful of Restoration Seeds from his pocket and handed it to her.

"So...so much?" Jasmine was bewildered at the number of seeds he had returned with.

"There should be 52 here…" Xiao Yun said casually.

"How...how did you get so many in such a short time? This much would take me at least a whole week to collect!"

"I just went around plucking these Restoration Flowers," he said. "Each flower gave me around 2 to 3."

"You actually found so many of them?! That's…" Jasmine was speechless, she didn't know how to react to his calmness.

"Are you sure you want to give me so many when I only asked for 10?" she asked.

"You can take all of them, there's no use for me to keep them, anyway," he said.

"Then… I won't be humble!" Jasmine happily accepted all 52 Restoration Seeds.

"Here's 3 Health Potion and 2 Mana Potion from me as a thank you." Jasmine handed him 3 bottles with red liquid inside and 2 bottles with blue liquid.

Xiao Yun accepted the five bottles and stuffed them into the pockets in his pants after he took a moment to inspect the potions with curiosity.

The health potion contained some kind of red liquid inside that reminded him of blood, but it was clearly not blood, but some kind of glittering red water.

The mana potion contained blue liquid inside that resembled the clear ocean from a distance.

Both of these potions were beautiful and unique in their own ways, and Xiao Yun quickly became fond of them.

"And as promised, I will answer any question that you may have for me to the best of my abilities." Jasmine looked at him with a cheerful smile, patiently waiting for him to speak.

Xiao Yun nodded, and he began asking her questions.
