Li Xiuying is the youngest surgeon the world has ever seen. 

Once upon a time, her work had meaning; to save lives. But soon surgery lost all of its meaning to her, she became an operating machine. She didn’t even meet the patient until they were unconscious on her surgical table like a piece of meat waiting to be carved.

But betrayal came swiftly and suddenly and Li Xiuying met her untimely end at the hands of her most trusted and loves ones. 

All the world’s a stage and it seems it is not yet time for Li Xiuying to exit. She finds herself waking up in her bed, 8 years in the past.

The novel may have realistic elements but it is a Work of FICTION. Please allow for some artistic license. 

There will be medical cases and scenario's included due to the main character (Li Xiuying) being a doctor. I have tried my best to explain as much of the medical terminology as possible. I'll also try and put some sources in where possible.

Granting You a Second Life

Wu Quon: "Hello Mrs. Si Peijing, this is Dr. Li and I'm Dr Wu. I just have a few quick questions I need to ask you in relation to the operation. Most importantly how are you feeling today?"


Mrs. Si Peijing: "2 residents? Am I not meant to be seen by The Dr. Li? I've heard that in places like Emerald hospital the consultant comes and speaks to their patient's before operating. Is that not the same here?"


Wu Quon stared at her in confusion: "Eh?" 'What is this woman talking about?'


Mrs Si Peijing sighed on seeing Wu Quon's reaction. She shook her head in sympathy: "Not only is this hospital second to Emerald hospital; even the doctors here are second rate."


Mrs Si Peijing then spoke slowly and loudly: "I would like to be seen by Dr Li Xiuying. She is the person who is going to be doing my surgery. Dr Li Xiuying. Off you go I'll wait here."


Li Xiuying unclipped her ID from her scrubs top and held it, in front of Si Peijing.
