Awakening, Part 2

Rie shut her eyes tight, screaming in terror as she expected to hit a hard landing. 'This is it,' she thought. 'I'm just going to end like this! I knew something was up with that little girl!'

The rushing of wind in her ears slowed, gradually, in what Rie thought was the end of her second life. Or so she thought, as when she squeezed open one eye, the ground had ceased to rush at her. Confused, she stopped screaming in fear long enough to hear a familiar giggle at her ear.

"That's hilarious~! You thought I'd actually drop you?"

Looking up, that same little girl stared down at her from a crack in the sky above her. A mischievous grin was on her face, seemingly treating it as a prank.

"I- I thought I was going to die!" Rie exclaimed, still holding onto her new tail. The little goddess just kept grinning at her. "Like I'd give up the fun so quickly? Don't worry, the fall won't kill you this time." Rie felt her already blanched face go paler. "Wait, what do you mean this time? You're going to do this again?!"

"See ya!"

The little goddess quickly waved, and momentum came into effect again. Falling towards the expanse of trees underneath her, Rie hoped desperately that she wouldn't be too badly hurt by the fall.
