Before we start the chapter, first of all, why did I take so long to upload another chapter? Well, let me apologize for making you readers wait, first. I am very sorry. I was very busy these last few months, even while in the Christmas vacation, you know, family and stuff. However, don't fret, although this chapter waited too long to be released, I have planned all of volume one's chapters, from the story arcs, to the episodes of each story arcs. I have estimated for volume one to be over one hundred chapters long, and, after that, it will transition to volume two. I'm not gonna give any spoilers though. Again, I'm sorry for the EXTREMELY LATE chapter, I haven't given you a cliffhanger, but the release of chapters, is too slow. Yes, I know that, and if you dropped this novel, go ahead, I don't blame you, even me, as a reader, will not like a novel that has too slow of a chapter release. I will only be able to release three to five chapters a week, so, maybe at summer, we're already at volume two. Thanks for continuing to follow this book, and, again, I'm sorry for the extremely late chapter. Let's continue on to the chapter then.

This is the current status window of Daniel's character. It is very focused on the strength and toughness stat, however, Daniel had second thoughts. Why in the world did he invest on the toughness stat?
Daniel faceslapped as he had this realization. He was confident in his macro and micro managing skills, but why in the freaking world did he invest in toughness? Wouldn't it be better to invest in agility to have faster attack speed and higher movement speed?
Daniel was disappointed in himself. However, he quickly got over this. It was fine, strength, agility, toughness, and stamina rises along his level anyways, plus, being an Adamanteus, he has the passive racial skill Gravitational Adaptation, and the gravity on planet Gormontia is very low compared to the home planet of Adamanteuses, which increases his strength, agility, and stamina by 25%.
Daniel decided that he would invest his stat points in the future in agility, strength, and wisdom, vitality, or energy.
Daniel returned to the Guardian's Space Den, and bought standard guardian equipment for level 10. He bought the level 10 Energy Claymore, and a Heavy Guardian Suit, which are both common equipment. He also got his Gormontian Accessories Package

Daniel also opened the Gormontian Accessories Package, which, in the description, contains five accessories, a necklace, a brace, pauldrons, and two rings.
It contained a Necklace of Vitality, Brace of Power, Defensive Pauldrons, and two Rings of Power.

Of course, as Daniel expected, the package was catered to his class. It must be the same with others, Daniel thought, and made Daniel cautious.
Daniel equipped all of his equipment, and now, he was ready to complete his Corrupted Goddess quest.
Daniel teleported to Gormontia again, at the Darik Kingdom. He made his way to the Enigmatic Forest.
As he learned the level 10 skill of the Swordsman's Pre-Class Advancement Skill Tree, which is the Twist, his power rose up again. Twist is a skill that consumes 500 energy, but damages all enemies within 5 meters around him with 200% of his damage, and also slows them down for two seconds. The cooldown of the skill is 20 seconds.
Daniel navigated his way on the forest, and hunted along the way. Daniel spent two hours trying to find his way to the center of the Enigmatic Forest until he finally saw a black castle.
Finally. Daniel thought.
He finally found the black castle, he spent two hours just to find it, he even leveled up three times because of the hunting he did.
He went to the castle front, but there were two knights in dark armor, they were holding a domineering spear. They also emitted an aura that
He then approached them.
The knights then reacted to the approaching character by holding their spear towards him.
"You're not supposed to be in this place, what are you doing here?" The guard on the right said with a deep voice.
"I came here to cleanse the Corrupted Goddess." Daniel said. He was not afraid of a fight, actually, he wanted a fight. He wanted the experience, as well as a challenge.
However, not everything goes the way you want it to be.
"Oh, really?" The guard on the left said with a surprised voice. He then kowtowed.
"Please help us oh dear adventurer! We've been guarding this place in hopes of finding someone who will cleanse the Corrupted Goddess of this forest, every person who visited here tried to get the Corrupted Goddess instead! And we finally met you, brave soul!"
Daniel's mind was spitting curses all over the place. What the hell is this situation? He wanted a challenge, not an easy pass!
If only he knew, he would've fought them the moment he walked up to them, but, instead, they kowtowed! They actually freaking kowtowed!
Daniel was on the verge on calling Vince, and complaining, but he did not do so.
He spoke on his mic and said. "Okay, I'm going in now."
The two knights stood up and nodded. "The Corrupted Goddess is in the basement, only someone with the recognition of the Goddess will be able to get in."
Daniel nodded, and headed into the castle without any trouble whatsoever.
The interior was very big, and Daniel met some Gormontian Tarantulas on the castle. The tarantulas were extremely large, and looked extremely terrifying
The tarantulas tried to bite his character's head off and also spin him in a web. Of course, Daniel dodged all of their attacks and even counterattacked in the process.
Daniel killed three tarantulas in a matter of five minutes.
"Damn, this is pretty boring..." Daniel whispered to himself disappointedly before yawning.
He then went downstairs to the basement of the castle. It was a prison and a long corridor.
At the end of the corridor is a metal-welded door.
Of course, that's where the corrupted goddess was sealed.
Daniel moved his character towards the metal -welded door cautiously, thinking the surroundings may be trapped.
After 10 minutes of walking cautiously, he reached the metal-welded door.
"No traps?" Daniel exclaimed.
He then tried to open the door but to no avail.
"I guess that's why, huh." Daniel said to himself.
He then tried attacking the door, and an actual HP bar appeared on top of it.
"Okay then." Daniel shrugged.
He then used Swift Strikes on the door as well as Thrust, now, the door only has 1/4 of its health.
He then used attacked it indifferently with only auto attacks, because even if a Gormontian Tarantula or something else that he did not encounter in the castle appeared and ambushed him, he would not be surprised and easily kill him.
This was not letting down his guard, in actuality, his guard is already up and he is extremely cautious. If people were here and if they saw Daniel, they maybe would think that he's too arrogant and think that he will definitely die within a moment, then they're wrong. Daniel's confident with his gaming skills, and nobody would ever think Daniel's stupid if they knew he was Phantom God!
After attacking the door for five minutes, the door's health was reduced to 5% of its health, and a few basic attacks will definitely destroy it.
Daniel attacked it using two basic attack hits and it broke. The door was finally open.
When he stepped into the room, Daniel received a notification.
"You've entered the resting area of the Corrupted Goddess. She will spawn in five minutes, in this timeframe, you may give up and leave this area, however, if you did not leave the area, you'll not be able to leave unless you defeat the Corrupted Goddess or die."
Daniel shrugged at this, and even went to the bathroom.
Daniel then returned to his seat, and there was still about four minutes left.
He just stared at the screen, slightly anticipating a challenge. He was actually slightly excited.
Just then, the timer on the top of his screen became zero and a beam of dark light coming from the ceiling on the middle of the room appeared.
After 10 seconds, the beam of light started dissipating, and a woman appeared on Daniel's field of vision.
The woman was dressed in a black dress, with her hair black, and her eyes also black. She was currently hovering above the ground, and was looking at Daniel coldly. It was the exact opposite of the goddess of the enigmatic forest, who had white hair, white eyes, and dressed in white.
A health bar appeared on top of Daniel's screen, indicating the health of the Corrupted Goddess.
"You dare disturb the rest of this Goddess? You shall be punished justly regarding your sin!"
The corrupted goddess started enchanting something in a language that can only be found in the game.
Daniel then rushed forward and used Thrust. The health of the Corrupted Goddess slightly dwindled.
The Corrupted Goddess then slightly stepped back because of the damage.
"You dare to damage this deity? You shall be punished greatly according to your sin!"
Daniel shrugged. This kind of annoying boss, huh? He thought inwardly.
Daniel then used Swift Strikes and continuously attacked the Corrupted Goddess with basic attacks.
However, that did not last long, as the Corrupted Goddess touched the ground, and spikes appeared, targeting Daniel.
"Oh, this is pretty interesting..." Daniel whispered to himself, a slight smile appeared in his face.
The woman in front of Daniel's character then started to increase her chanting speed. Daniel's speed was not enough because of his low level, as the Goddess was level 30, twice Daniel's current level.
A magic circle appeared on top of the room, and it actually started summoning lightning bolts!
Daniel dodged the lightning, which almost hit him, however, when he looked up, another lightning bolt started to descend. If not for his inhumanely fast reflexes, extremely good micromanaging and micromanaging gaming skills, as well as extremely high gaming experience, Daniel would've never been able to react to that.
Daniel assumed that he would die in one hit if he was hit by that, of course, that may not be true, but every attack from someone a level higher than him, he would treat as lethal, and the attack would kill him.
After dodging the second lightning bolt, Daniel still looked up, and saw that the magic circle was actually disappearing.
"Good thing there was only two lightning bolts." Daniel said to himself, calmness rushing over him.
After that, Daniel's character moved towards the Corrupted Goddess, and used Gravitational Field, which pressured the Goddess, and almost made her kneel.
As a mage, Daniel figured that the strength of the goddess may not be much, and may not even be able to support himself in front of a gravitational field.
However, the goddess' strength was greater than expected, and she stood up, albeit, with difficulty.
The goddess casted another instantaneous spell, and another earthen spikes protruded from the ground, and targeted him.
However, Daniel did not make the same mistake as last time, which is to jump backwards, and instead, made his character front flip towards the goddess.
The movements in Universal Guardians is extremely complicated along with the skills system, after all, the game was in pc platform. Without using skills on a game, people would definitely not be able to do complicated stunts such as somersaulting, back flipping, or zigzag running, thus the introduction of the stamina system.
The stamina system in games allowed the less-skilled players to perform many complex movements, much like what Daniel just did. However, the stamina system had disadvantages as well, for example, one would need stamina to perform basic attacks, and using basic attacks will reduce your stamina. That's why mages with low stamina as well as defense are so weak against assassins who perform highly complex movements, and some even perform this without using their stamina.
Meanwhile, people with extremely high skills, like Daniel, the Phantom God, and the other twelve members of the Thirteen Gaming Divinities, have high disadvantages, who, without using their stamina, can perform almost impossible to do movements in RPG pc games, such as Steel Tempest.
Even the mage main role player, Mythicality, was never caught by a warrior or an assassin in medieval-like RPG games because of his extremely high micromanaging gaming skills, and can perform highly complicated movements, such as somersaults, without using stamina.
The stamina system applies to running, executing a basic attack, taking damage, doing manual labor in game, jumping, and the main use is the execution of movement skills, such as back flipping in game with the use of a skill.
The most unfair advantage of players like Daniel, however, is the instantaneous execution of movement skill after using a non-skill movement. For example, Daniel executed a back flip without using a movement skill, he can immediately execute a movement skill like a back flip or a front flip in an instant, even while on air. This is the reality of the players, and no game developing company dared to fix something like this, and some new games even add this feature, that's to encourage to hone their players' skills, and someday create another monster like Phantom God, which will definitely be impossible, because Daniel is a one in a million years seen genius, and even Thunderbird, the second strongest of the Thirteen Gaming Divinities is not close to Daniel, whether it is in terms of gaming skills, reflexes, micro and macromanaging skills, and even leading the team.
However, the gaming companies think that the world is too vast, and there will definitely be someone in the near future to rival Daniel's gaming skills, someday. Definitely someday.
Back to the fight.
Daniel then used Twist to slow down the Corrupted Goddess before following up with attacks. The Corrupted Goddess' health went down to 95%
Daniel finished the fight within thirty minutes. Daniel wished he could've finished it at a faster time so as to not waste his own time, but because of his equipment, and the level disparity between him and the Corrupted Goddess, it took longer than expected.
The fight was not even as thrilling as Daniel thought and he was even yawning at the process. He set his expectations a little too high, it can't even be called a fight, it was just a one-sided slaughter.
"Well, that was underwhelming." Daniel yawned as he said, unsatisfied. A boss was supposed to be domineering, and overwhelming, yet Daniel thought that the Corrupted Goddess was very underwhelming! However, if it were any other players in Daniel's shoes in his level and equipment, they would've died in an instant.
Nobody can dodge all the boss' attacks just like that! Heck, even high-leveled players can't dodge shit like that!
Daniel then went out of the castle, and went back to find the Goddess of the Enigmatic Forest.
"Thank you hero for freeing my corrupted soul, I'll forever be thankful to you." Daniel heard the Goddess' reply and just made his character in-game nod.
Daniel was still surprised at the realism of the game, even though it was just a game.
A notification then appeared on Daniel's screen.
"You've finished the quest, The Corrupted Goddess. You've received the Goddess' Claymore, the Blessing of the Goddess of Enigmatic Forest, and five levels. You've received the title "A Goddess' Hero.""
Blessing of the Goddess of Enigmatic Forest:

The activated skill has an effect of making monsters flock you, while inactive, it will make monsters ignore you, and it can only be activated in the Enigmatic Forest.
A Goddess' Hero
Type: Title
Description: You have saved a Goddess in your lifetime.
Effects:
-+20% Stats Increase
-+50% Experience Gained
-+50% Loot On Monsters
It was a good title, however, it wasn't good in Daniel's eyes. It was too annoying, and will make the game easier! He wants a hard game! A very hard game!
In the years that he was playing games, he never encountered a game that is challenging for him. Sure, it my have been challenging in the first time, but after getting used to it, and to the controls, it was too easy for Daniel.
Nobody ever threatened him in any kind of games, even when the second time he played Lightning Track, it became too easy. Too easy!
That's the talent of Daniel, the one deemed as the God of Gaming, and known as the Phantom God.
Returning to the Darik Kingdom, Daniel checked on an inn, and logged out. To log out on the game, one must be in a safe zone, like the Darik Kingdom, and not in forests.
"Sigh, well, there goes my expectations..." Daniel was blatantly disappointed with the game.
This was a powerhouse who wanted a challenge, and was sad at the top. He was never challenged one. However, he does hope that their will be someone as good as him, to find a rival, because even Thunderbird, the second of the Thirteen Gaming Divinities, was too weak for Daniel, and even Thunderbird knows this fact!
Sigh, truly lonely.
Daniel then stretched, and exercised on his home gym to maintain his body shape. Although he was a hardcore gamer, he must still maintain his body shape and health.
Daniel then ate salad for dinner, and some fruits.
He then took a bath before going to bed, and before sleeping, he still played some games on his mobile phones.
...
On an unknown stage, probably the newly built Island of Gaming by the IGA, Daniel was playing a game.
It looked like the Universal Guardians. He was facing against someone, a woman, a powerful woman who was also playing as good as Daniel.
It was the climax of the fight at the computer screens.
Then, Daniel used an unknown Swordsman technique, and turned the tables around, however, the woman actually countered Daniel's technique, and killed him!
The comeback of Daniel was only a false light of hope, and didn't last long.
Daniel, the God of Gaming, the one known as the Phantom God lost! He lost!
Daniel then woke up, with sweat.
"What a dream..." Daniel muttered. Maybe this was a pretense or foreshadowing of something big happening in the future!
Maybe he'll meet his true rival in the late future, at the Island of Gaming built by IGA!
"Maybe it becomes reality..." Daniel said as he pouted his lips, before going up, and brushing his teeth.
He cooked his own breakfast, before returning to play Universal Guardians.
He might meet his fated rival in the game, and he doesn't want to waste that chance!
Daniel completed quests after quests on the game, and finally reached level 40.
He now have new weapons and equipment.

His stats window was like this:

Daniel's level up speed was too fast, as well as his hidden quest finding ability and quest clear speed. He finished all that under a day! He was the first player to reach level 40, whereas most of the players are still struggling with the level 25 monsters on the second player kingdom, Ecixovell Kingdom and its hunting ground, the Dark Plains, where many undead monsters lurk.
Even Thunderbird was only Level 35, as the amount of experience needed to level up during level 26 and above significantly increases. It was only easy to level up only in the Early Game, and not during the late game, however, the late game scaling is much higher, and even a single point of stat in any given stat is so valuable that it can be regarded as the diamond of Earth.
Daniel, other than being overpowered, also finished the set of hidden quests, The God's Trials, which is given to only a number of players. In the hundreds of millions of players currently playing the game, only about seven players have gotten this quest, and only four completed it at level 35, and Daniel even completed it under level 25. Yes, Daniel finished those set of absurdly difficult quests under level 25. It was given an SSS+ rating because of Daniel's level, and an S in the levels thirty five.
The God's Trials gave Daniel a moment of satisfaction on the game, as it gave him so much challenges, albeit, not that hard, but still within Daniel's tastes. Nevertheless, after the God's Trials quests, Daniel was left thirsting for more, and he wanted more challenges. To his disappointment though, the game didn't give him any more.
"I guess that's it, huh? The game, is only seriously... like this?" Daniel was speechless. It was too easy, although the God's Trials did give him a little bit of challenge, it was not enough!
He wanted a challenge for once! Something... Just something.
...
Ahh, yes, for those who doesn't know gaming terms, micromanaging skill is the skill to control your unit to perform complicated movements, and as such. For example, in league of legends, micromanaging refers to your skill to last hit minions to get coins, and dodge and hit skill shots. Micromanaging skill in the Universal Guardians refer to the management of keyboard, and mouse execution skills, as well as executing movement, attack, and support skills in real time, it may be called micromanaging, because your timing should be perfect to the point that you need to time your skill execution for the cooldown.
Macromanaging is the management of strategies, and management of the bigger picture. For example, in Starcraft, Macromanagement refers to the ability to control large amount of units at once, like an army, as well as building the right building in a specific location. All in all, macromanagement is like a psychological battle.
People who are truly good in games are people who can switch from macro and micromanagement every time to get the perfect strategy to win against the opponents.
