The Battle For Lorea!

"After them!" Tyrien shouted.

Sana's power exploded abruptly, and formless pressure brought many to the ground. It was like a house sat on their back. Many of the lychni felt crushed by the weight of their own body. Before they could even run, a fist pummeled them into a building.

"Kouta! Stop destroying the buildings damn it!"

Tyrien sighed helplessly. When would this guy ever follow directions?!

Rey quickly ran over to the building. It looked like it could fall at any time. He reached his hand out and touched the rubble. A wave of space energy gushed out. Suddenly, the stone in his hands moved and reformed into a pillar. He quickly repaired the damage and kept moving.

"I can't do that endlessly!" Rey wasn't sure what Kouta was thinking. He didn't have a lot of energy, and manipulating space like that drained a lot out of him!

Before he could think more, he heard a faint plea. Rey focused on it and realized there was a little girl trapped under some rubble.

"Mama."

Rey heard a girlish voice crying clearly and turned around. Unexpectedly, he saw a lychni charging at him with a knife. Adrenaline pumped through his veins, shaking off his fear.

"Don't get careless!" The lychni thought Rey was stupid enough to let down his guard and laughed. But before he could enjoy that moment, Rey infused his hands with energy just like Johannes did and swung his fist at the man. The cocky lychni used his dagger and tried to stab Rey's hand, but he cried aloud. Rey's fist had torn through the blade in the lychni's hands. His fist came down onto the man's hands and ripped ligament from bone. Only when Rey's hand was knuckle-deep into the lychni's ribcage did it stop.

The lychni collapsed with wide-eyes in disbelief. Even Rey was shocked. Even his space energy became more destructive!

"Mama!" The voice cried even louder.

Rey focused on his hearing and saw a little hand sticking out of a huge collapsed building. He quickly ran over to the girl and tried to lift up the concrete chunks and rebar. But he wasn't strong enough to even make it budge. And when Rey felt his energy reserves, he could only bitterly smile. The hand he saw was over a foot and a half deep into rubble; he wouldn't have enough energy to get the girl out. And even if he manipulated gravity to make the concrete lighter, he'd still have to move it all out.

Rey tried to think of any alternative but nothing came to him. He tightened his fist in anger, but then realized there was still a ring on his finger. This wasn't for decoration, but rather, this was the storage ring that Hibari had given him so that he could store things that had no life. In this separate dimension, Rey could transmit the things he touched to the ring for safekeeping!

He immediately placed his palm on the huge chunks of concrete and watched them disappear. Soon, he could see the girl's dusty shirt and bleeding head. Another shot of adrenaline shot through his veins as he quickly thought of what to do. He grabbed the girl and disappeared. When he reappeared, he was already a few feet away from Sana.

"You can heal her, right?" Rey said, out of breath and a bit shaky.

"Who will stop them from getting away then?" Sana looked at him seriously.

"I will, so please make sure she's safe!"

Rey pleaded seriously, which moved Sana a bit. She looked over at Tyrien and nodded. Rey sighed and immediately disappeared again as he went to the town's walls.

'Just hold them off. One at a time... You got this, Rey.' He steadied himself as he teleported again. His vision warped as he appeared just a few centimeters behind a woman running away. He infused his hands with energy once more and struck her neck. Her head was hewn off as Rey saw another lychni running for the gates. He continued his performance until Sana finished healing the little girl and a phantom-like weight was pressed down on those who tried to leave again.

Rey felt exhausted. His body barely had any space energy left; he had enough energy left for one final teleportation or a few attacks. He hadn't felt that exhausted in his life-time. Pushed to his limit, he could only watch as Riza and the rest finished up. Keanu continuously smashed the lychni into any structure he could find, which gave Rey endless grief. Tyrien was cold and calculated. Each swing of her swords proved to be fatal and swift like a killing machine. He could only wonder how many lives she had taken to perform so well. Riza also looked sluggish, Rey noticed.

As Rey looked at the battlefield, however, he only saw a few lychni left. The rest of the citizens who cultivated start to join the fight as well and Rey even saw a few familiar faces. Sonalius besieged a few adept lychni at once, and Johannes fought an evolved lychni. None proved to be anything they couldn't handle.

By the time Rey caught his breath, the rest of the lychni were dead. Their bodies laid in the grass and dirt, seeping into the plant life and nurturing the soil. Rey wanted to search for his parents, but before he could, Tyrien called everyone to her.

"Well done. Next time, Rey, don't issue orders without alerting us all. One misstep and one of them could have escaped. Lorea and its citizens here might have died if so." Tyrien said sternly.

"My apologies!"

"Don't. It worked out this time; why apologize for something that went well?" Tyrien reprimanded him. "We'll leave for Sig'car's base tomorrow. Riza can guide the way again."

"Um..." Riza hid her head, "I don't know where Sig'car made his home."

"...you don't?" Tyrien had assumed Riza would know, but now was having a headache. If they left a lychni alive then they would interrogate one but... they were all killed!

"But I think I know who does!"

Riza thought about it and looked determined.

"Who?"

"A traitor named Kiev."
