chapter 4

With Ro and the remaining remnant of his tribe, the Red Eagle.

It has been close to a week since they had to abandoned their camp and traveled off with the remainder of his- their tribe after the recent attack by the Gray-Tooth tribe, the elders and the rest of the warriors of the tribe has stayed behind to buy them some time to run, seeing that they were not being pursued by the crazy bastard of the Gray-Tooth, he had guessed that his grandmother and the other elders and warrior was successful in delaying all of them- but it is also likely that none of them had made it since they would likely send a red eagle out to inform him to return to the tribe if that were the case.

But it has been close to a week now- and nothing, had come for them- no red eagle, not even a single pigeon has come to deliver a message.

"Ro, we must press on, we might be able to take refuge in the nearby kingdom of Evergreen, I heard from the traders that the kingdom was quite prosperous now, it is likely that we might be able to settle ourselves there- since I also heard that the lords of the land are quite generous." Ro third great uncle told him.

"What can we even do? I know that most northerners despised us and viewed us as nothing but southern savages and barbarian." Ro smiles bitterly.

"That isn't all the truth, Ro- most people further up north and that of the church viewed us that way since we worshipped our ancestral spirit animal and not their god, but the Evergreen kingdom is different." the elder informed him.

"How different can they be? Don't they also worshipped the god of the church?" Ro asked him curiously.

"That isn't the case anymore- roughly a year ago a traveler passed by and traded goods with us- by chance one of the men who were in charge with the exchange asked that traveler about the northern kingdoms- he told the man that the Evergreen kingdom has waged wars with their neighbors and invaded the Holy Kingdom of all places and wrought havoc just because they schemed against the local lord of the kingdom," he informed Ro.

"And as for what we can do, I'm sure the kingdom itself don't mind having us nomadic folk around since we are great at horse breeding and also our tribe specialty of birds training." his uncle then added in, it was true- many tribes in the vast plain has their own specialty- most of them excel at horse breeding since it was mandatory for their nomadic life, but some such as Ro Red Eagle tribe- has their own specialty, specialized animals training, medicine- weapon forging, building- you named it and there probably a tribe to occupied that spot.

"And if worse come to worse, we can just work odd jobs to earn our living- or just work as guards for the lord of the land." the old man added.

"Alright, great uncle...but I honestly doubt they would accept us since most our warriors are only around the first and second rank...you might have a chance since you are a fourth rank." Ro words ringed loudly in the old man ears.

That was indeed true...they were weak compared to the soldier of the northern kingdom.

"We will figure out something once we get there…" the old man could only let out a long sigh as he thought about the endless possibilities once they crossed over to the Evergreen kingdom.

"Hey look mom! There are people laying on the road!" suddenly one of the children, a boy about the age of four, pointed out to his mother- at two human figures lying motionless in the middle of a large crater in the middle of the road.

His words immediately put a halt to the traveling convoy.

"Let go over there and check it out," Ro asked one of his tribe warriors to ride with him toward the two unconscious people to check out on their situation.

When the both of them reached the two unconscious figure, the warrior went down from his horse and checked on the two people situation.

"There seems to be quite banged up, perhaps they encountered bandits? Or rogue warriors? The male seems to be the one with the heaviest injury, maybe he tried to be the hero." the warrior gave a comment for the situation.

"Let take them with us...we can't just leave them out here on the open road...right?" Ro suggested, the warrior only nodded before he quickly loaded the two unconscious teenagers onto his horse and rode back with Ro to the main convoy that was further back.

******

Previously~ Leonard and Sachi encountered an unfortunate accident while they were crossing through space, time reality tunnel and head back to Leonard world, and were struck down by a mysterious force and were sent off course from their destination.

"Sachi held on to me tightly! Don't let go no matter what?!" as Leonard said that he too, grabbed on to Sachi waist and dragged her closer to help as they crashed through the tunnel.

Which released them out high in the sky and came crashing down on to the earth like that of a meteorite, fast, and uncontrollable.

*Boooom! "Gahhh!!!!" he woke up screaming bloody murder as in his dream we have also experienced the same situation, falling endlessly from the sky.

That was all Leonard remembered.

"Huh? Where am I?" he finally calmed down and noticed that he was on top of a mattress being pulled by a horse- of course, he also notices that a little toddler was running and crying while screaming for his mommy saying the monster woke up.

"Hey there young man, you seem to be quite well and healthy...even with all of those wounds and bruised covering your body." an old man with a head full of gray hair spoke to him on the horse that was dragging Leonard mattress like sled along the road.

"Uhm...are you people the one who helped me? Also, did you know if there was a girl that was with me when you found me?" he quickly asked as Sachi- whom he had tightly held onto during the initial stage of the crash landing process, was nowhere to be found.

"Don't worry lad, the girl was fine, a matter of fact- I think she's getting along with everyone here just fine, look over there." Leonard quickly stood up and looked at where the old man was pointing at.

It was further up in the distant, where he could see that Sachi was having fun chatting with the group of women and kids further up ahead.

Seeing that she wasn't injured much from the rough landing that they had previous-for who know how many days already, he couldn't help but let out a long sigh of relief.

It was then that he turned his attention to the old man that was riding his old horse, he notices that the man clothing style doesn't really fit that of the people who lived in his home area, they wore decorated fur cloth with braided hairs and sometimes tattooed on their skin.

" don't mind me asking, but who are you kind folks and- where are we heading again?" Leonard asked with a face full of confusion.

The old man could only chuckle for a bit.

"You've seemed to be quite sheltered heh? Lad? If you lived in the area, you should know that the nomadic people of the plain roamed the area...but that was long ago...our tribe is broken...all we could do now is trying to seek refuge in the nearby kingdom of Evergreen- as story told that the lords were quite generous." the old man then continued to told story about his people and the land that they use to inhabited before the forced migration to Leonard.

With the old man words, Leonard finally has some understanding about the situation, these people were the nomadic tribe of the violet plain kingdom! Which shared a border with his kingdom down south.
