I'm Shot

'Bring your gun.'

Mian Bingbing squeezed the gun concealed inside her shirt when she remembered what Li Heilong had told her. If anything, she didn't question her husband's information network and intuition.

The only thing she questioned was his sanity for actually letting the other members of the Li family dictate his… and, subsequently, her son's and her lives.

Why did he ask her to bring her gun? It was to shoot down those who would harm their son. If he found out where they were, he wouldn't bother calling her and saying nonsense like this. Since he did, Mian Bingbing would only think of something that would make more sense.

She was in danger, and he might be able to protect her. Either that or… Li Feng was in trouble, and this useless father needed her help.

"Bingbing, did he say why he needed you back in the hospital?" Liu Li asked as he slowed down for an intersection. They were the ones who were in the car since Mian Tianyu decided not to go blindly. Besides, his wife was in the hospital; Liu Li had to come back as soon as possible.

"He didn't, but I want to see my Feng'er. Since he was alright, I don't need to look for him anymore."

"…are you still fighting that much?" Liu Li sighed.

Ever since he met Mian Bingbing, she was already at odds with this man she chose to marry. As much as Liu Li knew, the two were not bound by an arrangement. Word had it that Li Heilong did pursue Mian Bingbing and later married her. Though, they did have a quite miserable married life.

"I can't blame you. Not only are you not a woman married to a prick controlled by his family elders, but you're also married to a woman who knew nothing else but love you." Mian Bingbing would snort louder if she wasn't riding his car.

She didn't look down on Liu Li who didn't grow his business that could have been an empire through Li Heilong's and her help. A world of endless riches was just one call away, and yet Liu Li decided to work hard instead.

However, she would sneer at him from time to time since he would treat this war between the two as if it was just a childish bicker. "It's not really best for you to poke your nose in our problem as we both won't appreciate it."

Liu Li raised his brows before shaking his head. Those two were too alike not to stick together. It was said that opposites attract, but that only meant both were magnets, right?

They drove to get to the hospital, and they soon reached the VIP ward. As Mian Bingbing walked in, she saw Li Yunru shaking Li Feng who seemed to be in a bad dream. She looked around and felt a presence that could have attacked her son in his sleep.

"Feng'er!" Mian Bingbing went to his side and joined Li Yunru. Wu Qianqian only stepped back and kept to herself as Liu Li embraced her to provide comfort and strength.

Shortly, Li Heilong arrived. He didn't care if Mian Bingbing noticed if he was dirty or not, but he stood from where Li Yunru was and reached out as well. It wasnt long before Li Feng finally broke free from the haunting. He was so relieved, likewise his parents and his cousin.

Mian Bingbing sat on the edge and reached out to stroke at Li Feng's head. "Are you okay? How bad is it?"

"Not much… I'm just chased around and had to force myself to walk." Li Feng smiled, but his smile was strange. His eyes then landed on his bound legs and wondered if something had happened. As much as he remembered, he must have eaten the nurse ghost by then.

However, he wasn't sure. Since the Weeper wasn't around, he couldn't be so sure.

"Rest easy. We're here." Li Heilong didn't know what that meant aside from being a nightmare. He had more problems to attend to, and those were more physical.

He then eyed at the clock; it was still ten minutes before the time the attack would happen. He just hoped the group would be stupid enough to walk in a trap or to not attack anymore. He didn't want to gamble a shootout since Mian Bingbing was here.

However, the Xie family was also around the same caliber as the Li family and of the Ren family. Ren Ditian might not be able to use a lot of money to activate goons, but it was different from Xie Canrong. Li Feng was never involved in things like this so he didn't think his son would be able to hold on his own.

Li Heilong then looked at Liu Li and asked him to come out with him with just a look. Liu Li, unfortunately, was well-versed in speaking 'Li Heilong' so he excused himself from his wife for now. Outside the ward, he handed Liu Li a gun under his sleeve.

"This…"

"Those people who came after Feng are not ordinary goons. Else, they wouldn't be able to do it quite systematically." Li Heilong only hummed as Liu Li accepted the gun. "Protect your wife. My son is a little idealistic, and saving people is his second nature.

"He'd feel bad if someone keeps on getting hurt or will be badly hurt because of him and his incompetence."

"Thank you." Liu Li only nodded. If he didn't have a gun, he would use his fist or his entire body to protect his Xiao Qian.

It's just that… as soon as Liu Li hid the gun in his possession, the whole hospital had gone dark. The two grew apprehensive, and Li Heilong quickly went behind the cleaner's cart nearby. Liu Li slowly backed off, in a crouch, to get to the door and opened it so he could enter. Mian Bingbing had also pulled out her gun and aimed at the windows.

Backup generators were running, but it only supplied energy for the sockets. That was to make sure that most medical equipment would still be functioning. The security grew on a high alert while the nurses ran around to check on their ICU patients. Utility ran to the voltage room to see what went wrong.

The group's plan was straightforward and callous. They would cause a power outage and then enter while shooting down the guards or nurses who would stop them. They didn't have to target any other place but the room where Li Feng was.

That was what the plan looked like from Li Heilong's perspective, and he knew how to read strategic infiltration.

"I don't like where this is going…" Li Feng felt like his parents knew this was going to happen, and this was happening because of him. Else, they wouldn't be concealing weapons. Moreover, the blackout had caused a surge in fear and terror among the people; the dirty things would surely love a feast.

He then gazed at Li Yunru and Wu Qianqian who were both noncombatants cowering at the side of the bed. The most Li Yunru knew was self-defense; she didn't have a gun. The auntie was way worse. He then looked at his legs and tried moving them.

Bang! The first gunshot was fired!

Screams echoed in the rooms, and yet only more gunshots followed. It seemed that Li Heilong's men had already run into the group. However, the man couldn't relax. As long as these people were not all dead yet, his heart wouldn't rest.

Bang! Bang! The sounds grew closer, and Li Heilong readied for an inevitable shootout. He gave a cue for Liu Li to be ready; he just hoped that the man was ready to be cold-blooded enough to shoot.

Mian Bingbing's eyes never left the windows. There were two big ones in Li Feng's room, and she was scared that they might go inside through them. It was too big not to be unnoticed after all. It's just that… her heart almost stopped when she saw silhouettes moving outside.

"Heilong!" She screeched as she held her gun with both hands.

Crash! Two men rappelled down and entered through the window.

However, they were not thugs; they were all clad in black gears like professional hitmen. Li Heilong did call for his secret group, but this was not their uniform. If they were friendlies, they would show up first before breaking through the window.

These men did not.

Mian Bingbing adjusted her aim and shot one dead through a headshot. However, the other man aimed at her quickly. His gun was faster than Liu Li's and Li Heilong's, releasing the bullet just the same time she fired at his comrade.

What made their hearts swell was that Wu Qianqian jumped in front of Mian Bingbing to catch the bullet for her.

However, no scream or blood came after.

"What the hell?!" The operative was shocked. Under the light of the moon and emergency red, a figure made of black miasma was standing on the trajectory of the bullet. It seemed to have caught the bullet using its body.

Li Feng and everyone in the room were bewildered by it. It then started walking heavily like it was made of stone.

"How… dare you?" There was a low rumble of a voice coming from it.

"Shoot it!" Another man swung inside, and he was armed with a machine gun. He aimed at the people and wanted to fire indiscriminately. However, before he could pull the trigger, his body was suddenly tattered with a hundred holes.

"What's happening?!" The first operative was aimed at the black miasma, and yet he was the one who suffered from a headshot.

Li Feng and Li Yunru shuddered as they felt that this presence was familiar… more so with Wu Qianqian and Liu Li. The black miasma with the ability to reverse threats of danger…

Screams then echoed from outside, and five more men fell down from the building rooftop. They were all guised in a black uniform that fully covered their faces.

Wu Qianqian held onto her mouth as she didn't think she'd witness such a scene. Mian Bingbing held onto her and held her tight in case something else would come up.

Soon, the power was back. The lights almost blinded everyone in the room, and when they opened their eyes, the black miasma was not there anymore. Police sirens had also rung from outside as footsteps came to the room. The man who received three guns at his face removed his mask.

"Master Long, they're all… en, someone got through?" The man was shocked. Those imbeciles could rappel and break in like a pro?

"Those were elites, not thugs…" Li Heilong was angry. He didn't think another group was going to attack. Perhaps they knew the thugs wouldn't be able to handle it.

"The black miasma…" Li Feng swallowed the lump in his throat. "That… that wasn't Guangru…"

Li Yunru, Wu Qianqian, and Liu Li shot a gaze at him. No, that was Guangru… wait… was it not him? Then…

In the dark cell, Liu Xiaodan was seated on the bed, with his legs crossed and his palms on his knees. He was in a meditative state, but he didn't seem to be okay. His face was pale, but no one knew what his normal complexion was anymore.

However, Qin Rong came to chat, barging in his silence. "Boss Liu…"

"Not now…" Liu Xiaodan opened his mouth to speak, but blood flowed from his lips. He then reached to touch his abdomen and saw blood seeping through his clothes.

"Shit, Boss Liu!" Qin Rong went to check him. "What happened to you?!"

Liu Xiaodan only chuckled. "I'm shot."
