Leaving For the Magical Beast Forest

Red Cloud City, City lord's Mansion

After having dinner with my family, I accompanied my father and my mother in a stroll throughout the city. Also, I've convinced my mother to let me go with them in the Beasts hunt. It wasn't easy, but I've managed to do so somehow.

As we were walking and talking to each other happily while holding hands like a loving and happy family.

"Rumble....."

We heard the sound of a thunder.

"Rumble ...."

"Rumble ...."

"Rumble ...."

The sound of thunder sounded out again and again. I looked up, and that's when I saw grey clouds covered the sky. The white clouds floating in the sky are swept away in an instant. Just now the sky was still white and blue, but now it turned dark and grey all of a sudden. As we were walking back home, the first drops of rain began to fall. Before we can even make it home, the rain crashed down heavenly as if its torrential showers were going to flood the whole Red Cloud city. We ran as fast as we could while the rain curtain interwove the heavens and earth altogether. My father could have cast a magical shield spell on us in order to prevent us from getting soaking wet, but he seemed like he's enjoying the rain while running with a big smile on his face. As matter of fact, he wasn't the only one. I love the rain, I always have. Especially, the pleasant smell that accompanies the first drops of rain on a dry soil. Additionally, The path through the house was paved with some special stone, which means the roads wasn't muddy at all. I really enjoyed Walking back home as I experienced each drop of the rain either together or apart, and seeing how the pitter patter of the rain rested a shield around my body.

" crack!

" zzzzzzzz."

Suddenly, the sky abruptly flashed brightly as a bolt of lightning cut across the sky like a serpentine electrical spark, then in an instant, it disappeared.

This rain seems to be the last heavy rain of the end of spring as summer was approaching, it's like the spring season's way of saying goodbye while bringing out a trace of summer's warmth with its rain. After fifteen minutes of running in the rain, we've finally made it home. We dried ourselves and changed clothing.

City lord mansion,

My father and my mother lied down in a huge king size bed facing each other while I was in the middle, the room was very big. It occupied a space of 15ft large and 23t long. There was all kind of nice paintings on the wall. There were two small lamps on each side of the bed. The sheets and the pillows on the bed were very neat and white. There was a big window on the left side of the room. As the room was on the top floor, we can clearly see the scenery outside. The floor was carved with some special stone. Nonetheless, my parents put a red carpet on it to make the ground softer. The room was really nice and neat.

" Father are we still going tomorrow even if the rain doesn't stop." I curiously asked my father.

" well son, under this weather, I don't think so. We are going to have to postpone it for a day if the rain continues to fall heavily like this. Even though mages and warriors might be strong physically, they are still mortals. Once their bodies are drenched by rain and coupled with the intensive fight and labor, they would easily catch a cold. Not only that, they might even catch a tough disease that causes them to become ineffective and forced to leave the trip. Also, They aren't all mid-level warriors or mage, there are some low-level warriors in their ranks, so we can't risk it." Said my father solemnly.

" Not to mention if they encounter slippery roads in the mountain trails while being under magical beasts attacks, it will drastically decrease their battle efficiency which might cause them to easily lose their lives ." Added my mother while pulling me closer to her and hug me tightly.

" But no need to worry son, your mother will protect you no matter what." Said, my mother, while pulling out the drawer of the small desk next to her bed. She took out a small Red crystal that was gleaming with a bloody light and handed it to me.

" This a tracking crystal, I was only able to complete it by infusing my blood into it which contains a slight amount of my battle qi. If you aren't too far away from me, I'll be able to sense the location of this crystal. And if you think you are too far away from me, just break the crystal when you are in danger and I'll immediately know your approximate location and come to your rescue. Remember, this crystal won't work if we are worlds apart, stay close to mommy ok." Said my mother with a concerned voice.

" I will definitely remember mother," I said with a childish voice.

" Ok, now you can go to your room, daddy has some work to do." Said father with a big smile on his face while lifting me up from the bed and put me down on the ground. My mother's face turned red when she heard my father's word, but she didn't say anything or try to stop my father from sending me to my room. It's not like I don't understand what kind work they were going to. I didn't dare to stay any longer and went straight to my room. I don't want to see or hear what they were doing.

The next day, early on the morning, the sun was just peeking out of the horizon through the hazy screens of clouds. Its brilliant rays were shining brightly and began to warm the air. It is official, today marked the end of spring and the beginning of summer and it was really an unusual transition because it was raining all night.

Today I am finally going to the magical beast forest. My heart couldn't help but poundings with anticipation. As soon as I woke up, I cleaned my self, changed my clothes and went straight outside without even eating anything. As soon I got outside the Mansion, outside the mansion's entrance, commander Tian was waiting for me.

" From the look on your face, I'm guessing you had a good sleep last night. Anyway, let's hurry. Your parents are waiting outside the city gate for you." said Commander Tian while moving toward the city gate.

" Ok, Thanks for coming to get me," I said while following commander Tian.

Even though it was still early, the people had already woken up and went on doing their daily routine. Some people were opening their businesses, children were playing around. As we approached the city gate,

"bing, bing, bing."

The sound of a big bell could be heard. Every time there is someone important visiting the city or the city lord is going on a beast hunt, they always sounded that bell.

Suddenly, everybody stopped what they were doing and move closer the city gate, children, and adults alike.

" the city lord and his troops are leaving for their Sexennial Beast Hunt."

" Yeah, it's already that time. Six years ago, the city lord lost one of his most powerful warriors as well seven mid-level warriors and two mages. I hope our lost won't be the same as the last time. "

" yeah, if that happens, our City will be weaker than Black Mist city or the Green Leaf city."

" let's go wish them luck."

Many people were discussing and talking to each other as they energetically approached the city gate together.

As soon as I got outside the city gate, I saw fifty bare-chested vigorous men who are about two meters tall each with their eyes coldly glancing at the crowd of people near the city gate. They were all mid-level warriors. Each of them either has a longsword, battle knives or an ax. The most interesting thing was, behind them were a group of tamed magical and ferocious beasts such as wolfs and Tigers. There were also thirty men dressed in Red with longbows in their hand on horses while the rest were holding the small magic staff in their hands. In the middle of this group of ferocious people, was a big well-decorated carriage.

" Wei, get in. I've been waiting here for a long time." While I was surveying my surroundings, that's when I heard my father's voice. I looked where the voice came from, the door of the carriage slowly open and I saw parents sitting comfortably inside

" Yes, father," I said happily while moving towards the Carriage. Commander Tian followed me as he was going to be the one driving the carriage as my father's most trusted subordinates.

" Let's go." As soon as I got in, my father ordered his personal guards as well as Commander Tian to move forward.

" Red Cloud city," I whispered to myself while looking through the window of the carriage. Under the clear Azure sky, I was staring at the enormous city behind me as the carriage was moving forward. I've lived there ever since I was born, and now it's the first time I'm stepping out of this city.
