Battle Suits [C46]

The Lord, hearing what Shu Himo said felt like laughing, 'Do you really think I will say the truth?' Not showing his thoughts, he then immediately started talking.

"Actually, the reason we tried to kidnap you is- URGG" The Lord surely did not expect to get pierced with a sword at the shoulder the moment he started talking, why did Shu Himo attack him?

He tried to look toward Shu Himo to see his expression, only to find a smile neither cold or happy, just a neutral one.

"You know... I don't like when someone lies to me. Did you think I would not notice it?" Smirking, Shu Himo then continued, "The moment you were about to say the reason, your eyes were not looking at me, and your eyebrows moved slightly. There is no way I would not notice something like that."

Shu Himo in his previous life, seeing how cool the main characters of some animes are when noticing that another person is lying just by looking at their facial movements, ordered a book about the study of psychology about it and studied more possible tics one would have when lying.

Hearing Shu Himo's talk the Lord was completely terrified, the kid in front of him could read his mind?

Not daring to lie anymore, he finally started talking seriously: "Fine... I will say the truth now."

"Good."

"The real reason we tried to kidnap you is to gain a bargaining chip, we wanted to stop the Shu Family from fighting."

"Fighting?"

"Yes, my sect planned a coup in the Kingdom of Arsia, and if is possible to stop the Shu Family from entering the war, the winning chance would increase."

"Tell me of the plan."

"I don't know much, but I heard that a certain family called 'Valhanna' is with us."

"The name of your sect?"

"The..." Hesitating for a moment, but he then still continued talking, "Arasura sect."

"Ok, last question. For what reason, all the commoners here fear to even just mention you?"

Strangely, the Lord hesitated to answer this question even more than saying his sect's name, for what reason? Shu Himo immediately noticed this peculiarity.

"What? Why are you hesitating?" What Shu Himo did not expect is to be seeing him trembling, and then saying, "If... if I tell you, will you give me a quick death and stop torturing me no matter what I say?"

Shu Himo was startled: did this guy took him as a sadist? It's not like he liked to torture!

"Sure, as long as you answer my last question I will give you a quick death. I swear."

Giving a sigh of resignation, the Lord then explained, "The Arasura sect uses a special cultivation method that consists in taking the Qi of other people until they die, this way we can increase our cultivation level. I periodically called some commoner in my house to take all their Qi. While a mortal possesses a low amount of Qi compared to a cultivator, it's still enough for the first stages." Looking again at Shu Himo, hoping to not get punished by torture for what he did, he only saw a small sword movement before getting beheaded.

"Interesting, so the Valhanna are aiming to do a coup. But why would they show me their seal and free me from the kidnap?" Pondering a bit about it, Shu Himo finally reached a conclusion:

"They want to start the war with a fight between the Shu Family and their Valhanna family? I guess the reason they believe to be able to win is due to the support from the Arasura sect."

Said this, Shu Himo was about to go outside of the house when he suddenly noticed an important fact: If he were to tell anyone this they would not believe it!

This can only mean that Shu Himo and Phylia would need to do everything alone.

Knowing of the importance of this, Shu Himo did not dare to lose time, and immediately said, "System, I want to buy a personalized Battle Suit!"

"Ok, I will start to think about the design of the Battle Suits."

A moment later, in front of Shu Himo, the Battle Suit slowly materialized.

The Battle Suit is completely colored black, a color reminiscent of the void, something that shouldn't exist in this world in the first place.

The Boots feel like they are carrying the strength of an entire world, the belt gives off an undying feeling, neither too loose or too tight. The pants seem hardened for combat but soft enough to use, the vest looks tight, attaching itself to the wielder no matter what conditions may present itself and the gauntlet strikes fear into the hearts of anyone.

Shu Himo, seeing the Battle Suit happily nodded and changed his clothes, now wearing the Battle Suit.

"Phylia, what do you think of this Battle Suit?"

"It's great!"

"I'm happy you like it, do you want one similar too?"

Hearing Shu Himo, Phylia was surprised for a moment, but then she nodded.

"Ok."

A moment later another Battle Suit started to appear, but this time it is a bit different.

While the general design is the same, the pants are shorter, reaching only Phylia's knees while the vest showed slightly her belly and had short sleeves.

The reason for the Battle Suit of Phylia to show more skin is to give her the option to morph those parts of her body into weapons, while the Battle Suit can morph with her, Shu Himo believed that it would not look good.

Now both having a Battle Suit, Shu Himo and Phylia happily continued their journey toward the Capital of Arsia.
