Absolute Loyalty [C60]

Both Shu Himo and Phylia now have their hand on top of the Loyalty Verifier Orb, ready to start the test.

Beginning to inject Qi, the orb slowly lit up, seemingly studying the loyalty level.

The teachers continued watching seriously, not wanting to lose a second of it.

The orb slowly became orange, green, purple, blue, colors shifting continually, apparently performing out of control.

"Headmaster... what is happening?" Perplexed, one of the teachers asked the Headmaster, as the orb never acted like that before.

"I don't know! Usually, the orb becomes red before displaying the digit value, but this time it seems something weird is happening!"

A few seconds later, the orb abruptly made a *puff* noise and revealed the value of Phylia's loyalty toward Shu Himo.

"What!?" Seeing the result, all the teachers went into a frenzy, looking frantically toward Shu Himo, as if he did something impossible.

"Did the Loyalty Verifier Orb malfunction?" Ignoring the reaction of the teachers, the headmaster looked intensely toward the Loyalty Verifier Orb trying to find an explanation.

The Loyalty Verifier Orb is now displaying a number capable of astounding anyone: 100!

"Wait... is this perhaps?" With a sign of incredulity in his voice, the headmaster hesitated to talk for a moment.

"What is it, headmaster?" The teachers listening to the headmaster hurriedly asked him.

"I never expected to see it with my eyes... but this may be Absolute Loyalty!"

"Absolute Loyalty?"

"It's the state where a tamed monster is loyal to its master to the point of sacrifice his life for any reason, as long as their master say it!"

The Heck!

He had seen some information regarding it time ago, but he believed that it was only a myth. Never would he have thought that... such a thing actually exists!

Every teacher looked at Shu Himo, pleasantly surprised to have a new student like this.

Forcing himself to calm down, he then looked again at Shu Himo, "As you have passed the test, Phylia is free to come to the Academy with you." Increasing suddenly the volume of his voice in a way that all the teachers can hear it, the headmaster continued talking, "While reach 100 in the test undoubtedly prove talent, it may also bring trouble so do not make word get out about the result."

Witnessing their exaggerated reactions, Shu Himo recalled from where he obtained his love of faceslapping, a novel he loved during his former life. 'Sigh... the worst aspect of being in this world is to not being able to read that novel...'

Not noticing the grief in Shu Himo's face, the headmaster pointed the Academy, "Shu Himo, follow me, I will give you a small introduction of how the Academy work."

Nodding, Shu Himo and Phylia then went with the Headmaster toward the entrance.

While walking, the headmaster started explaining, "Earlier I said to put you in the D class, now I will explain what that means. This school is divided into class D, C, B, A, S, and a special section. The classes I mentioned later are harder to reach than the earlier ones but can bring more benefits. To make an example, in the library you will be limited on where you can go based on your class."

Pausing for a moment, he then continued talking, "To get to a better class, you will have two choices, the first is to participate in a test, the second is to fight with someone at a duel, if you beat the other, you will steal their place in their class."

"I see." Nodding in acknowledgment, Shu Himo finally entered the entry building.

Suddenly, the scenery changed and he found himself to be in front of a section with multiple doors and grey walls.

"What is this?" Startled, Shu Himo did not know how to react: the inside is way too different than expected!

Chuckling, the headmaster pointed on top of a door, "You see, there is a sign on top of each door with written the destination, and just by going through the door you chose you will teleport to the destination, it functions by using the laws of space."

"I see" With eyes sparkling out of curiosity, Shu Himo appeared like a child who saw a new thing for the first time.

Seeing the interest from Shu Himo, the headmaster started laughing, "Come, let's go to the dormitory, from today you and Phylia will sleep there... also, do you need a separate room?"

Surprised by the question, Shu Himo looked at Phylia and immediately answered, "There is no problem with it, we'll stay together."

"Okay."

Opening the door, Shu Himo noticed a black portal inside, they then both touched the entrance of the door toward the dormitory and abruptly found themselves in a different area.

In the new area, there were many doors, 'It almost resembled a five stars hotel corridor' Thought Shu Himo as he watched the hallway decorated with carpets that reach every door.

"Here, take the key, you will be in the room number 0116." Taking the key and nodding, Shu Himo continued walking with Phylia and the headmaster.

"In this school, we will teach you principally how to fight, but remember that there are many side-occupations, from being a blacksmith to a formation master and more others."

"I see."

"One last thing, in a month from now there will be a test, and based on it you will be able to go up to the next class." Throwing a student seal toward Shu Himo, he then continued talking, "For now it will be enough, you should consider finding the rest of the information about the Academy as a first mission; I will now need to go, I hope you will have fun in the academy!"

Seeing the headmaster suddenly vanishing, Shu Himo and Phylia searched for their room, went inside, and Shu Himo fell immediately asleep on the bed, neglecting not have eaten dinner yet. As always, Phylia became a lap pillow for him.
