Now needing to make one of his hardest decisions, Shu Himo stared deeply at the nine magic spells.
The spells he recorded are:
[Fireball]
[Earth Wall]
[Bug Spray]
[Electrobolt]
[Red FireBall]
[Smoke Curtain]
[Earth Spear]
[Lightning]
[Blob]
"System, what is wrong with these names?! Blob? Bug Spray? And what is Red Fireball, that's totally a rip-off!
[Blob: create a small ball of water in front of the caster, it can be sent to hit an enemy or drank.]
"Just call it Waterball!"
[Bug Spray: if used toward a normal bug it will possess a 100% probability to kill it, while if it is used on a monster of the bug species it will make it laugh uncontrollably (Doesn't work if the difference in realms from the caster and the monster is too high).]
"Who is the crazy person that made this spell?!"
[Red Fireball: create a small ball of fire in front of the caster, it can explode.]
"I knew it was a rip-off!"
Exasperated, Shu Himo immediately discarded those three spells and began examining the other six.
"System, give me their description."
[Fireball: create a small ball of fire in front of the caster, it can be sent to an enemy and explode upon reaching the destination.]
"Way too clichè, let's go with another one."
[Earth Wall: create from the ground a wall made of earth.]
"Defense is not needed."
[Electrobolt: create a tornado made of electricity and remotely maneuver it.]
Pondering for a moment, Shu Himo recalled this spell, it was used by those two students of the D class... if he were to use it wouldn't it seems as if he were copying them? How lame would that be?
Upon realization, he hurriedly said, "Next!"
[Smoke curtain: make a smoke curtain.]
"Your description is awful... I don't need this spell right now, I have my ways to make a smoke curtain..." smiling wickedly to himself thinking of an idea he recently had, Shu Himo felt elated to try it.
[Earth Spear: create a spear from the ground, throwing it toward a chosen direction.]
"Isn't this the magic spell used by those guys in the remain? This was kinda lame seeing the effect it produced."
[Lightning: produce a lightning toward the direction indicated by the arm, the lightning is highly attracted by conductive materials.]
Pondering deeply, Shu Himo finally made his decision, "I will learn the Lightning spell!"
[The User is so picky when deciding a magic spell.]
"Obviously!" Being proud of being picky, Shu Himo began to study the book relative to the Lightning spell.
-----
The next day, in the practice area for magic spells.
"I invoke thee;
End their defiance;
Give them no mercy;
Lightning!"
Following the chant, in front of Shu Himo's fingers, a small light suddenly appeared, seemingly displaying the will to destroy anything.
*Puff*
Suddenly, the light quieted down, as if it never existed.
"Another failure..."
[Even the system is starting to get bored after seeing the User failing all the morning, why the User doesn't just start using the right chant instead?]
"Never! It's too lame!"
While ignoring the remarks from the system, Shu Himo tried to complete the magic spell for all the morning, but even if he managed to get past the first phase, he keeps failing in creating the mana structure.
What he did not know is that everyone would get utterly astonished and start doubting the purpose of their own life by discovering it, since someone who just began learning magic would require at least a week to learn what Shu Himo learned in a morning, not even considering the fact that he is modifying the chant!
Still, the system is just way too pretentious so Shu Himo now believes to be too slow.
-----
After passing the whole morning and afternoon training on the magic spell, Shu Himo went during the evening to record books at the alchemist section, but as there were too many books even in the entry area, he managed to record only a third of it.
-----
The next day, Shu Himo trained in magic spells in the morning and formations in the afternoon, while recording another third of the books during the evening.
-----
The following day, Shu Himo still trained in magic spells in the morning and formations in the afternoon, finally managing to record the remaining books about alchemy.
-----
During the next days, Shu Himo trained in magic spells and formations during morning and afternoon, while recording and studying books from Beast taming section and Healer section during the evening.
The books about beast taming and healing teach about ways to tame every beast and a bestiary with most known monsters, and about ways to diagnose and provide medical treatments.
Like this, in a cycle of training and practicing, the time passed quickly, even skipping Shu Himo's birthday, until the time for the test finally came.
-----
The morning of the start of the test.
"I can't wait to make the test!" Curious about what the test will be, Shu Himo is giggling all the time.
[Why is the User so impatient? It's enough waiting a couple hours to the start.]
"Tch, you really don't get it..."
[...]
After making the system speechless, Shu Himo was ready to go, but he first said, "Status!"
[Shu Himo, 7 Years old]
[Hp: 100%] [Mp: 1350]
[Strength: 137] [Resistence: 115] [Agility: 150]
[Dexterity: 150] [Intelligence: 135] [Wisdom: 143]
[Realm: Dantian Core Formation] [Stage: 1st String]
[Skills: [Intimidation lv_1], [Hopper lv_2].]
[Unique Skills: [Steal Illusion].]
[State: Sigh.]
[The maximum stats for the Dantian Core Formation 1st String is 150!]
Seeing the stats, Shu himo let out a smile, "It seems that all the hard work of this month was not useless... I finally maxed out some stats!"
[Until the User reaches the 2nd String, that is.]
Ignoring the depress-inducing remark from the system, Shu Himo left his room and went toward the location of the test, finding it in less than thirty portals.
Reaching the place, he found out that it's an enormous stadium, with the D class inside and the other classes on the stands.
