Pillar of Fire [C76]

Upon sight of the numerous meteors falling from the sky, the students all had a distinct reaction, some ran away, some gave up, and some chose to struggle with all their strength.

But there is one thing that all of them possessed, an absolute hopelessness coming from the knowledge they would get crushed by a single spell from Aura Azusa.

Shu Himo instead, seeing her attack just smiled mysteriously, as if did not care at all about it.

Aura Azusa seeing their reaction chuckled, "If you want to flee, feel free… But if you stay, get ready for annihilation."

Even if she is still far away, her voice appeared so powerful that they felt their heart tremble, and even the one that originally wanted to fight immediately changed idea and ran away, leaving every sign of pride.

At this moment, Shu Himo suddenly raised a hand, from where some particularly thin Qi wires connected to the ground could be perceived. Smiling, he looked at Aura Azusa, "Did you really thought I would not prepare for your meteors?"

The answer he received is as he predicted, "Of course I expected it, if this much was enough to defeat you, it would not be of any fun."

Smiling, Shu Himo suddenly clapped his hands, changing once again the Illusion Realm, revealing various formation rods.

Looking at the formation rods pointed toward the meteors, Shu Himo grinned, 'During this month I researched completely the applications for the exploding formation, and I created three applications… this is the second application: the exploding cannon formation!'

Aura Azusa examining those formation rods is perplexed, based on her knowledge there aren't formations capable of stopping a meteor!

Suddenly, Shu Himo snapped his fingers, activating the formation.

The formation activated swiftly; the air appeared to be absorbed inside the formation and the ground collapsed on itself, creating the illusion of seeing everything being absorbed inside the formation, but this only stayed for a fraction of a second, until a crazed sound resounded through the whole stadium.

*BOOOM!*

Exploding on itself, the formation suddenly shot the blast toward the meteors.

As the force of the explosion is way too powerful, the Illusion Realm abruptly broke but did not damage Shu Himo since he expected it earlier and stopped his control over it at the last moment.

Aura Azusa seeing the explosion wore a shocked but also satisfied look, and immediately flew away from the trajectory of the blast, dodging it with ease.

The moment the blast reached the meteors, all of them got instantly pulverized to nothingness, since the blast was way too powerful.

*BOOM*

A second explosion, from the impact of the blast and the meteors, resounded in all the stadium making every student immediately turn around toward the source of the noise.

As the Illusion Realm is no more, what is happening can again be easily seen by everyone, which resulted in terrorized faces, not only of the students but even from some teachers. In their sight, there aren't meteors, there isn't an explosion, there is only a pillar of red incandescent fire going from the ground up to the sky.

Even the A class students, seeing this pillar of red fire felt their limbs becoming weak and their breath hastening, who could see something like this and keep their calm?

The headmaster, seeing the strength of the attacks from Shu Himo and Aura Azusa is worried, will he be able to teleport in time the other students before they die? Not daring to be careless, he now increased his attention to the maximum, ready for anything.

Being the one aimed by the attack, Aura Azusa is the only person who truly felt how fearsome is that explosion, but she is not scared and has instead a smile on her face, "Not bad, truly a worthy attack to making me show my true strength."

Suddenly, everything felt to change, the air itself did not feel anymore as air but instead as sharp blades filled with killing intent, threatening to kill upon taking a breath. The plain did not seem like a plain anymore but instead like a sea of blood. The sky did not seem as sky anymore but as the black void reminiscent of death.

The students close enough to the area immediately lost their ability to breathe, and while feeling terror and despair they slowly suffocated, until they got saved by the headmaster.

While he was not too much afflicted by it, it startled even Shu Himo, what did she go through in her life to be able of generating such pressure by only releasing killing intent? This thought is not something that only Shu Himo have, even the headmaster is thinking about it, normally, such a killing intent can be only produced by someone that knows what pure hate is.

Now Aura Azusa did not appear anymore as a girl in the eyes of the students, but as a terrible monster capable of destroying anything.

Watching the expressions of everyone, Aura Azusa got extremely displeased, her only comfort is that Shu Himo is not showing any emotion on his face, apparently focused on the fight.

Smiling, she then pointed her arms toward Shu Himo and started her chant.

"I request thee;

Answer my call as required by the ancient contract;

Incinerate my enemies;

For they do not deserve to exist;

The resplendent sun;

Solar Orb."

Suddenly, in front of Aura Azusa's hands, a small ball of fire appeared. At first, it seemed the recreation of a fireball, but it quickly became bigger, and now it reached finally the size of about twenty centimeters in diameter.

While at first view it seems harmless, Shu Himo knows that it's surely different; He instead got the feeling to be looking at a bomb ready to destroy everything in the area. Knowing that such an attack is not something he can defend easily, Shu Himo fell in thought, attempting to quickly discover a solution.

Looking at Shu Himo, Aura Azusa grinned and threw down the Solar Orb, "Let's see if you can defend yourself from this."
