Hopping here and there and nibbling on things on the way the rabbit continued on his search for new shelter.
*Huff huff*
-My body feels heavier than it was before. Maybe eating that thing wasn't the greatest idea ever. Urgh.
The rabbit paused under some leafy vegetation to take a rest. Eventually his mind grew hazy and against his best efforts not to, he fell asleep.
…
…
The screeching of some kind of avian woke him up from his unplanned slumber. Immediately alert he took stock of his surroundings. Small animals were rushing out from the underbrush fleeing from what sounded to be quite a clash coming from the distance. The avians, feathered reptiles?, that woke him up were screeching at the commotion.
-What the hell? Is there a fight going on?
Being bitten by the curiosity bug, he decided to check it out. Creeping through the brush, well as much as a rabbit could, he got closer to the origin of all that noise. As he got closer his nose twitched at the scent of blood. Roars and cackles resounded through the forest. He finally came upon a clearing where he could now see what was causing all that commotion. Surrounded by canine creatures with barbed tails and mouths full of razor sharp teeth, was a three-eyed white tiger with blue stripes. It was also slightly glowing.
Most of the canines that were there were actually on the ground and judging by the wounds, most definitely dead. The whole entire pack of these canines had most likely come here to attack the tiger. They were severely overpowered but the tiger was tiring. The canines glanced at each other in an unspoken signal and then launched themselves at the tiger. It swatted at one canine in the face partially blinding it and stepped out of the way of another, but one of them landed on his back trying for his neck. Seeing this oppurtunity a fourth ducked to try to get at his underbelly, while the remaining one nipped him on the haunch. Ignoring the one his back momentarily, the tiger snapped his jaws down on the neck of the fourth canine. It then preceeded to rammed the one on his back against a tree. With a pained whimper it collapsed onto the ground. The first two had already gotten up and with the last canine got ready to charge, when at that very moment a bright blinding light was discharged from the tiger.
-Ahhh! Fuck, fuck, fuck!! That's bloody bright.
The little rabbit rolled around in pain due to the piercingly bright light. When his vision finally cleared and the pain was at a more tolerable level he once more glanced at the clearing. The remaining canine creatures were now dead and they, plus all the previously dead ones, had their fur singed and considering the smell, their flesh cooked as well. The tiger was slumped on the ground exhausted from its efforts. It was bleeding from the numerous bite marks on its body. What was strange however was that the blood had a slight silver tint to it.
Gathering its strength after a brief rest, the tiger lifted itself off of the ground. With a slight limp it headed off to wherever it came from, completely ignoring the canine corpses scattered across the ground. As soon as the tiger left, those feathered reptiles descended en masse on to the corpses. They were momentarily picked clean with not a shred of flesh left. After their feast they ascended into the sky and split off. The little rabbit then cautiously hopped out and examined what was left of the corpses but was soon disappointed.
-Damn. I was hoping there would be just a little bit left. I really want to know if me eating that weasel was a one-time thing or not.
Just as the rabbit was about to hop away and resume his search for shelter, a delicate scent reached his nose. Stomach growling he decided to investigate this new scent, only to find out it was coming from a puddle of blood that was shed by the tiger. He started to drool at the mouthwatering scent and in a trance started to lap it up.
And of course, no sooner had he done this, he collapsed and writhed around in pain until he finally succumbed to the welcoming darkness. Moments later the tiger returned.
