Soul thing to do.

I throw myself back onto the couch after 7 hours of flailing around, throwing punches at the air and kicking invisible adversaries. Even Jasper got bored with watching me act the fool and is snoozing away in his corner.

Hey, Dart, was that last sequence any good? It felt better than the last 30 fails.

[The Host has compiled a low-quality stage one body refinement technique. This unnamed technique will improve the Host's overall body condition at a slow but noticeable rate until you plateau at you're the first Vital energy bottleneck]

"What bottleneck? And let's just call it Vital Flow 1.0 or VF1.0," I speak aloud to Dart.

[The Host should not worry about opening up Body energy nodes. with your current Vital Flow 1.0, it will take an exceptionally long time for you to reach such a stage. I would suggest improving VF1.0 as you train.]

Well, ill leave Vital energy alone for now. It's starting to get late I should head to bed and work on figuring out elemental energy training tomorrow.

Heading upstairs, I take a quick shower and head into my room, glancing at my collection of cheap swords brought at conventions. They might come in handy someday soon. Might want to upgrade to something more durable though.

Jasper jumps onto the bed with me... something he's not normally able to do.

"Jasper have you been working out while I've been at work?" I asked as I rub his cute ugly little head.

Hey Dart, inspect Jasper for me.

[Target "Jasper" Inspecting]

Sex: Male

Rank: Zero Beast

Race: Canis lupus - Pug Variant

Bond: Currently sees itself in a close relationship of equals with Lee Long

[Higher Energy that resonates with the Target.]

Resonance with Vital Energy (Body Tempering) - Above Average

Resonance with Psychic Energy - none

Resonance with Elemental Energy Law's- Above Average

Soul energy: Zero

"wow, Jasper, when you get ripped, don't beat me up ok?" I Give him a tummy rub and wonder how I trained my pet to think of me as an equal... I'm an Alpha... right?

Dart, how do beasts train?

[Beasts train by instinctively collecting Elemental energy into a core in their brains. While Vital energy strengthens individual cells. It's all done involuntarily until they gain enough intelligence to question the process and augmenting it themselves. Also eating the cores of other stronger beasts help them evolve and grow.]

Well, goodnight Dart we have a busy day in the morning I want to learn how to shoot lightning bolts from my fingers.

Closing my eyes, I drift off to sleep looking forward to exploring this new world.

Waking up, I feel the soft poking of grass digging into my skin and the warmth of the sun beating down on me.

"What the hell" I mumble to myself

I just went to bed, right? Why am I outside? Why is the Sun so high? These questions race through my mind as I observe the world around me ...

A clearing in the middle of what looks like a forest, but it's hard to tell how large it may be.

Hey Dart, you there?

[host ... Soul bzzt]

That was useful thanks for the Input Dart!

So this place must have something to do with my soul's strange configuration and Darts too much of an idiot at rank D to help.

Looking down at myself I seem to wear nothing, except trousers made from some rough hemp-like material. All I'm missing now is a rusty sword and a slime to kill. Well, that and a starting town with a guide NPC.

Either I'm messing with myself using my soul energy on an unconscious level... or Truck-kun killed me in my sleep and I'm now in another world ready to become the new Hero / Deamon Lord! I'd need a better system than Dart though if that was the case.

I catch movement from the corner of my eye and slowly turn my head towards it.

Really!! I think to myself while I stare at the 40cm tall bunny happily munching on some grass, while the sun glistens off the 10cm horn protruding from the middle of its forehead.

Is that a frigging Unirabbit? Please don't let me die while being impaled by a Unirabbit horn... the indignity.

Keeping my eyes on the rabbit, I take a slow step back. Sadly, the movement seems to catch the thing's attention. "I just know this would happen... it always does in everything I've ever read," I mutter aloud.

Ok! time for the Hero to fight his first epic battle barehanded and half-naked. with only 7 hours of "Training" under my belt.

I widen my stance and wait as the cute little bunny charges me with its horn leading the way. Just as it was about to hit me I spin to the left while kicking out with my right leg.

Or that's what I tried to do, In my head, it worked perfectly! In reality, I fell onto the rabbit as it passed under me, pinning it to the ground. The rabbit couldn't get to anything vital with its horn as happily... It was currently stuck in the muscle just above my right collarbone.

"Bleep bleep oh my good bleep god" I scream (manfully, if I say so myself) in pain as I tried to beat the rabbit to death with my unpracticed and uncontrolled punches. This had the undesired effect of jostling the horn sheathed in my flesh.

After an unknowable amount of time, pain, blood, and a weird rabbit scream every now and again, we both stopped fighting. The Rabbit because my weight must have smothered it to death because my punches did nothing at all. I stopped doing anything because well moving hurt like hell.

I finally plucked up the courage to unsheathe the horn from my body, only to regret it almost instantly as blood gushed out, in time with my rapidly beating heart.

I got up onto my knees while keeping one hand pressed hard against my chest. looking down at the corpse of my fallen foe, I tried to figure out what was happening to me.

As I stared blankly for more than a minute, trying to think and to not cry like a little kid from the pain. Something odd happened to the rabbit. motes of light escaped from its body and into my chest. The process rapidly sped up over the next 30sec's until the Unirabbit faded away into nothingness. Except for the oddly shaped horn dagger left in its place and the rush of energy that stormed through my (dream?) veins.

I took my hand away from my chest to look at my wound. To my surprise, it had stopped bleeding and now looked like a three week old puckered red scar. It still hurt but in a dull aching way instead of the sharp oh my god way.

"So this is happening to me... I fell asleep and dreamed myself into my own little fantasy world," I mumbled to myself as I leaned forward to pick up the dagger with my bloody hand. Wait, is this place even a world yet? or is it just a small patch of land I've created with soul energy? Did I get abducted by aliens?

OK, first things first I need to stay alive, heaven knows what would happen to me here if I died here. I could just wake up, and everything would be fine. I could just not wake up at all…

Looking around the small clearing for any danger or something to use, I cannot see anything of interest. "I'll just head out and see if there's an edge to this world or if I've created an entire globe inside my dreams." I think to myself while walking towards the sun.

"I hope I don't leave the noob area, I'd hate to run into a Wyvern," I say aloud to myself to fill out the silence.

I spent the next few hours stumbling around the woods looking for a hill or large tree to climb to get a good view of the area.

All I found were 2 more rabbits and one bee the size of my fist. Thankfully, the bee was not aggressive. The rabbits dropped one horn, and two rabbit skins.

So I get crafting materials and finished items. Makes sense if I'm making this up as I go along, I've always loved crafting in games.

What must have been 5 hours since I awoke here, a wave of disorientation swept over me? I found myself laying in bed with jasper barking insanely at a ball of light and shadow swirling above my head.

As I was staring into the shadow-light wondering what the hell it was, the tip of what looked like a horn emerged. Seemingly being created one molecule at a time.

Just as the materialization was about to complete the hilt of the dagger. I managed to remember basic physics and rolled off the side of my bed, just avoiding the dagger as it plunged down into my bed point first... right where my neck would have been. while staring in confused horror at the dagger for a few seconds, two more items dropped atop the dagger. one rabbit horn and two skins.

"wow, that was a close call," I say to Jasper as he sniffs the objects on my bed while I try to control my beating heart.

life just got even stranger!
