Relentless Overlord General

Xiandi rolled his eyes and started to walk forward.


They walked until they reached a large gate in the middle of the dark forest. the light barely shined through the trees nearly plunging the entire forest into darkness. She looked up at the giant red gate ascending towards the sky trying to touch the heavens but was blocked by trees. The tall gate was dark red in color with silver trimming. the paint in certain areas appeared to be peeling giving it an old and ancient look.


Ling Yiyao looked into the center to see a small clear barrier surrounding the entrance of the gate. "Rong'er do you see it?"


"Yes." Shi Rong stepped forward and stuck her finger towards the barrier. The small area glowed a bright yellow. She immediately pulled her finger back just in time for the area to react with a large shock of electricity. 


Xiandi looked at the gate in disinterest. "Can't we go around it would be too troublesome to pass through this barrier."


Shi Rong glanced at him through the side of her eye then answered calmly. "I'm afraid not we must pass through this area to descend into the realm where my next ingredient resides." She stared at the gate quickly analyzing the gate. "However this barrier was recently formed so it shouldn't be troublesome to dispel it."


She poured a small amount of energy into her hand then slammed it into the barrier. The barrier rippled lightly then glowed a bright yellow.


Shi Rong raised her eyebrow then quickly turned her body to the side just in time to avoid a burst of energy from the barrier.


Shi Rong sat on the ground and crossed her legs. "I need complete silence in order to mentally break this barrier. I must track down the very core energy and destroy it."


Hui Mian gazed at Shi Rong with a curious expression. "Are you really a princess to be able to accomplish so many difficult tasks that could take one many lifetimes to even brush the surface of or are you something more."


Shi Rong gently closed her eyes and spoke sweetly. "Who needs to worry about ones accomplishments, past life identities or current abilities for when you have the mental capacity and knowledge of the world like I have then it deems all of those other qualities or important attributes worthless when I can easily solve a problem and accomplish much more!"


Hui Mian glanced at the girl with an indifferent expression. "Be that as it may but you are a eighteen and naive little girl." Hui Mian looked her up and down with a foil expression. "based off your appearance and mental abilities it would appear you would have lived for over thousands of years in order for you to have obtained so much knowledge in order to figure out new worldly problems I'm clearly sure a palace princess such as yourself wouldn't have been able to see due to your stature in the royal palace."
