The Start

Figuring out their plan, Gordon was shaken.

"Send half of our men to the Northern Gate! Now!"

"Yes, General!"

"Sound the alarm! notify the citizens that we are in a trouble! make them increase their phase!"

"Yes, General!"

Gordon was about to make another order, but he immediately noticed the enemies splitting their group into three, more than 100,000 light cavalries broke out of their army as they went to the left and right side of the Kingdom's walls.

Gordon gritted his teeth as he shouted.

"Make haste now!"

"YES!"

Gordon looked at the archers of their army and also the Rakzswei users from the Mrakna empire and shouted.

"Prepare to kill every last one of the enemies!"

"YES!"

The heavy cavalries of the Montblan Empire are getting closer and closer, steadily and precise.

"Wait for it, Hold!"

When the Heavy Cavalries finally reached their maximum range, Gordon's eyes flicked with fiery flames as he shouted.

"RELEASE!"

Swooosh! Swooosh! Groooowsh! Wooom! Pewwww!

All sorts of sound were heard as magic and arrows flew out from the castle walls, aiming directly at them.

The one leading the Montblan Empire's charge, General Keewey smiled as he saw those magic and ordered.

"Barrier!"

The Rakzswei users in the midst of the Heavy Cavalry unit started to cast their magic one by one, but a lot of arrows and magic still manage to penetrate the unfinished barriers and manage to slip in, chipping away their armor, injuring and killing them, decreasing their numbers steadily.

Keewey smiled as he ordered again.

"Earth and Flame Rakzswei! Destroy the gate!"

"YES!"

More than 400 Rakzswei users casted their skills as they struck the gate.

Just after a minute, the gate is already about to break.

Gordon frowned as he only has more than 10,000 soldiers left in the wall and ground of the southern gate, the rest of the troops were already sent towards the northern gate to protect the citizens.

"Men, prepare to engage the enemy! Hold them at the gates!"

"YES!"

Although half of the men there were soldiers that barely had any battle experience, they have a very solid stance, they only have a single thing in their mind right now.

'For my Family, I`ll die for the Trunma Kingdom and his Majesty, the King!'

Although all sorts of fear can be seen in their face, but no one is budging an inch, they only wished for their Family to be taken care of by the King, Dammi Twiwivs for their sacrifice.

Gordon walked down from the stairs and moved his way at the front, he looked at the soldiers as a group of Heavy Cavalry approached the gates, the gate is about to fall anytime soon after the heavy bombarding of the Rakzswei users, still, Gordon ignored it as he focused solely on the soldiers.

"Today, we might die, but, we will fight with all we have, for our families, for the ones we loved, and for the Kingdom of Trunma! We will stand here and drive these foolish savages back to whence they came from!"

"WOAH!!!"

With Gordon's speech, their morals were immediately boosted to its limit.

Shwiiing!

Gordon withdrew two of his swords out of its sheath as he looked at the charging enemies.

Boooom!

The gate broke down as it was blown into smitherens but none of Gordon's men nor the soldiers behind him blinked.

"CHARGE!"

Gordon led the blockade as his troops and soldiers followed him.

"WOAHH!"

Keewey was the one in front of the Montblan Empire's troops, he immediately saw Gordon and smiled.

"Untalented swine! I`ll kill you today! This eye of mine shall have my revenge today!"

Gordon smirked as he replied.

"We shall see!"

"HAAAAAA!"

...

Northern gate.

The citizens had finally reached the Northern gate and immediately continued and headed out, then, the troops from the far north finally reached them.

Those troops immediately sqeezed their way out from the left and right corner of the gate, the citizens noticed that the soldiers wanted to go out of the castle and made way for them.

One of the soldiers saw his Mother and spoke.

"Mother, don't worry, you will definitely be unharmed, we will make sure about it."

The woman that was called Mother immediately looked at where the voice came from, but she saw no one, only the soldiers rushing out of the castle gates.

The woman cried as she kept moving forward and spoke.

"My son, please be safe, don't die on me."

A lot of people heard those words, some wept while others firmed their will further, not getting scared by what's happening.

But when the soldiers are only half out, they saw a cloud of dusts from the west and east side of the castle's end, the light cavalries had already arrived!

The troops outside the castle gritted their fist as they withdrew their weapon.

"Enemies from both east and west!"

Hearing this, the citizens were shaken, but nobody panicked and just increased their phase.

The soldiers also increased their phase as they made their way out.

One of Gordon's trusted captain, Rakzu was leading the soldiers outside the wall.

"Prepare yourself!"

"Yes!"

The soldiers prepared immediately as they made a defensive stance and drew the spears behind their back to receive the Light Cavalry troop's charge.

Rakzu wanted to make the citizens go back inside, but he already knew that the best option is only going out, the enemy's number were many folds bigger than theirs, which means it would only take a few hours before they could breach the Kingdom's wall, endangering the Citizens further.

The only way for survival is to get the slim chance of them surviving the retreat.

Razku couldn't see the end of the Light Cavalry's rear, which means that the enemies are still coming, Rakzu smiled as he looked at the Citizens and spoke.

"Please continue going north!"

There were roughly about only 4,000 Citizens that had managed to go out, there were still more than 50,000 inside the Castle's wall.

"FASTER, FASTER!"

Rakzu kept encouraging them to go faster, although the Citizens were doing everything they can, they couldn't go more than it.

The ones that had finally managed to go out continued their way to the North, their eyes were filled with tears as they wanted to go back and accompany their son, husband, or beloved ones, but they knew all too well that it would be sullying their loved one's wishes if they do so, they could only grit their teeth in anguish.

Rakzu assigned 5,000 people to accompany the Citizens and guard the ones that manage to escape and go to the Mrakna Empire and report of what happened.

When about 7,000 citizens had managed to come out, the Light Cavalries had already reached their destination.

Rakzu clenched his hand as he shouted.

"Nobody goes out! The enemies are here!"

When the Citizens have heard it, they immediately stopped as the women entered the Kingdom's wall again.

The men that were still inside dropped their belongings and went back to their house, after a while, they came back with pitchforks, shovel, and many more such things that they used in their everyday life.

"We'd rather fight than let our people die!"

"YEAH!"

Rakzu smiled as he tried to enter the gate, but he immediately saw the Light cavalries had a group between 15,000 to 20,000 units separated from them and gave chase to the retreating Citizens.

"B*stards!"

Rakzu gritted his teeth, blood immediately flowed down from his mouth as cursed.

"They are not planning to even spare the Citizens! COWARDS!"

Rakzu wanted to go and give chase, but it was already too late, then, the Light Cavalries had finally arrived in front of them.

"I`ll never forgive anyone who dies without killing two or more of them!"

"YES!"

All of the soldiers there smiled as they had already accepted their fate.

The Citizens have not yet entered, which made Rakzu unable to enter and defend on an advantageous position, Rakzu gave his finaly order.

"Close the gates after all the Citizens had entered!"

...

Somewhere, a little far away from the Trunma Kingdom.

Nyken is sitting on the edge of a cliff as she heard the bells ran from the Trunma Kingdom's direction.

Nyken stood up and looked at the direction of the sound and spoke.

"Is there an accident? or are they celebrating something?"

Pondering for a bit, she thought of any events that are worth celebrating, finding that nothing is coming to her mind, Nyken immediately shivered.

She looked nervously at the direction of the Trunma Empire and immediately went to her horse.

"Makhu! Let's return! Hya!"

Makhu rushed back, but they were eight kilometers away, it would take at least 30 minutes to get back.
