Slight Disturbance

Wu Shang Tang brought Jia Bi Yu to a high classed Japanese restaurant with traditional furnishings.

They had to sit on cushioned mats around a low wooden table on a tatami floor.

It was Jia Bi Yu's first time at a Japanese restaurant and also his first time eating Japanese food, so Wu Shang Tang happily went ahead and ordered a whole table of delicacies.

Fatty tuna, salmon, surf clam, sea bream, and yellowtail were beautifully placed on a large bowl of tightly packed ice.

The sashimi glistened in the light, fresh and tender.

Hesitantly picking up a piece of fatty tuna with his wooden chopsticks, Jia Bi Yu slowly moved it towards his plump red lips.

As soon as the fish came in contact with his tongue, it melted into his taste buds, the flavors exploding his senses.

He closed his eyes as he leaked a sigh of extreme satisfaction, shoulders slumping down, seeming almost like a real tuna flowing along with the gentle sea currents.

Seeing his fully content expression, Wu Shang Tang, quickly picked up a piece of grilled beef wrapped enoki mushrooms and placed it directly into Jia Bi Yu's plate.

"Try this. It's one of my favorites!"

He picked it up and brought it close to his nose, taking a slight whiff of the mouthwatering aroma it gave off.

His throat moved as he swallowed his saliva and did not hesitate to place the whole piece into his mouth.

The sauce with the tasty slice of beef and soft mushrooms that soaked up all of the juices was a heavenly combination.

The bouncy yet crunchy yet soft texture surprised him as he bit into it.

Wu Shang Tang poured a cup of hot sake and placed it in front of him, gesturing him to have a taste with his hand.

His nostrils flared up as he took a small sip, the alcohol clearing all of his air passages.

As they were happily enjoying this sumptuous lunch, the paper door of their private room slid open and a young man came in with quick steps, shutting the door right behind him.

As Jia Bi Yu was about to question his intrusion, he came down heavily onto his knees in front of Wu Shang Tang with his downcasted head.

Wu Shang Tang had one arm leaning lazily on the table, and another holding a small cup of the wine in front of his uplifted lips.

His eyes held a certain spark in them when the new arrival came into his view.

Neither of them spoke as Jia Bi Yu continued eating by herself, having noticed the two men were acquainted and determining it was none of his business.

After a long time, the kneeling young man finally opened his mouth and said, "I'm sorry."

Wu Shang Tang lifted his eyebrow slightly.

He placed his cup down slowly as he turned to face the man with an unreadable smile.

"Hmm, what are you saying sorry for, Nan Nan?"

Through gritted teeth, the young man replied, "My underlings tried to harm you."

"That's right. Tried. Am I not totally unharmed right now? So what's the big deal?"

The young man's eyes widened as he lifted his head, their line of sight intersecting.

"You're not mad?"

Wu Shang Tang gave out a light giggle.

"You didn't know about it, right?"

The young man's eyes opened even wider.

"How did you know?"

He picked up his small cup of wine again and took a sip, relishing in the aftertaste as it lingered in his mouth.

"Because Nan Nan is a good boy."

The kneeling young man's face slackened into a big grin before quickly reining his emotions back in, having realized that he was making a silly expression.

Wu Shang Tang placed a hand on top of his head and lightly ruffled his hair.

The young man swatted his hand away.

"Stop making fun of me!" he coughed with clear embarrassment in his tone, his cheeks brightly heated up into a deep red glow.

Jia Bi Yu looked back and forth between the two boys, having come to an understanding.

He smirked unnoticeably before he went back to his usual facial paralysis look and continued savoring the many different dishes.

Whatever was between them was none of his business.
