First Encounter

Jia Bi Yu had already walked for a long time now, but the scenery remained unchanged.

The same old red and dry land without any signs of life and the same old black crescent moon that watched one's every move.

If one did not have a strong mental fortitude, they would have long lost their minds from living here.

Time seemed frozen, not moving forward or back.

The evil miasma continued to be tamely absorbed into his body bit by bit, dancing along with the rhythm.

He did not know how much time has passed before he spotted a single stalk of black grass amongst this never changing land.

He couldn't help but increase his pace, yet the distance between does not decrease.

What is happening?

Is it possibly just a mirage, like those seen after a long time in the desert?

He stopped in his steps and observed his surroundings.

It was still the same.

Nothing seemed abnormal.

He focused his mind onto that stalk of black grass and disappeared from his spot.

When he appeared again, not even a millisecond later, he was already far ahead.

Not expecting the results, he turned around to find the grass quite a distance behind him.

It seemed like constantly being in this land can mess with one's judgment abilities.

He had actually been moving forward despite it seeming like he had not moved a single step.

When he casted instantaneous movement, he had used the calculation he saw between him and the grass, hence moving more than what he needed.

He did not bother to try walking to the blade of grass this time and without hesitation, casted instantaneous movement again.

This time, there was no miscalculation as he didn't move after his first casting.

He bent down to observe the grass closer.

It had three blades of grass, with each a different size and shape.

One was long and sleek, standing tall in the center of the other two blades.

The one on the left had slightly rounded sides, and curved towards the outside.

The last was twisted into a weird shape, seeming to have no specific order, with sharp needles all over it.

He swept his hand over the whole blade of grass, uprooting it from the red soil, and sending it directly into his space.

He sent a voice transmission to its guardian, the little dragon, and asked him to plant the blade of grass inside and to keep watch over it for him.

He wondered what kind of properties it had.

This process did not take long, and he was soon walking towards the same direction again

After that first blade of grass, he noticed more and more of the same kind as he walked.

As soon as he saw one, he would instantaneously transfer over and throw it into his space.

He soon gathered 39 of these grasses.

When he found the 40th one, he noticed a soft shuffling sound nearby when he bent down to pick it up.

He quickly turned around, coming face to face with a strange male being.

The stranger was two meters tall and had a burly body with pale skin that gave off a dull grey luster, with a bald head on top.

He only wore a full black piece of cloth that wrapped around his lower body.

Jia Bi Yu became on guard and watched the stranger carefully.

The stranger also stared back in curiosity and observed this strange creature in front of him.
