A new adventure

It's been 4 years since Inari and Erza started dating, and both have grown stronger in their own right. Erza grew he collection of weapons and armors to the point that she is literally a walking armory. She also gained the title of Titania, Queen of Fairies, for her exploits and great strength. Inari also grew stronger. The intensity of his lightning, and the ability to manipulate his fire as he sees fit, earned him the title of 'Kaminari no Hinokami' (Thunder Fire God), along with Oberon, King of Fairies due to his relationship with Erza. 2 years after Erza, he passed the S-Class trials and team Flaming Sword officially became an S-Class team.

A year ago, after both Inari and Erza turned 18, they decided to use their collective savings to buy a small house on the outskirts of Magnolia, where they started living together after missions. They often went on dates, and today was one such day. As they relaxed on a bench near the south entrance of Magnolia, they heard a commotion coming from the gate. Not stopping for a moment, they saw Natsu Dragneel, one of their fellow mages of Fairy Tail and a fire dragon slayer, run past with a blonde girl of the same age.

Looking at each other with disbelief, they decided to cut their date short and rush back to the guild to see whether they were crazy or not. Reaching the guild, they were just in time to catch the last echoes of master Makarov quieting the guild down. Walking in, they saw Natsu tell the master that the girl, named Lucy, wanted to join Fairy Tail. Also, he kind of destroyed half of Hargeon town.

"NAAATSSSUUUU, WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!?!?!" Makarov

Natsu just looked sheepish, then tried to run away. Unfortunately for him, Erza and Inari had reached them by this point, so he could only recoil in fear, giving the master enough time to whack him on his head. That finished, Erza and Inari dragged Natsu outside while Lucy was getting her guild mark, and started interrogating him.

"So, Natsu, what's the deal with the girl?" Erza

"Yeah, you finally getting a girlfriend or something?" Inari

Natsu was confused for a moment, before he realized what they were asking.

"No, it's not like that. She bought me a meal in Hargeon for saving her apparently, then I blew up a guy's ship and we ran away. She wanted to join Fairy Tail, and that guy was posing as a Fairy Tail member, and Igneel. So I beat him up and that's when I kinda destroyed a part of the town." Natsu

Erza and Inari gaped at the boy's lack of self-control. Shaking their heads, they left him to himself, going back home.

A few days later, Erza and Inari were called to the master's office. He looked grim, seemingly troubled by something. As Erza and Inari walked in, he looked up at them with relief.

"Ahh, it's good that you are here. I have a mission for you, and you need to collaborate with a few other mages to complete it. We've heard talk of the dark guild, Eisenwald, has started making suspicious movements near Oshibana town. This is too close to the Guild Master's Meeting to be a coincidence. They are planning something, and I want you 2 to stop them. Please hurry." Makarov

Erza and Inari answered in the affirmative, hurrying out. Scanning the mages present, they saw Natsu and Gray Fullbuster, an ice mage, seemingly about to fight, while Lucy watched on in terror. Erza seemed to turn ice cold, while smiling brightly.

"You boys wouldn't be fighting now, would you?" Erza

Natsu and Gray jumped into each other's arms, terrified out of their minds.

"NO MA'AM, WE WERE JUST ABOUT TO SAY HOW GOOD FRIENDS WE ARE!!!" Gray

"YEAH, WE'RE SUCH GOOD FRIENDS IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE!!!" Natsu

Inari tried to stifle his laughter while Lucy almost popped her eyes out in shock, her jaw on the floor. Inari walked over to her and patted her on the shoulder.

"You'll get used to it, every time they see Erza, they act like the best of friends." Inari

Lucy just nodded, while Natsu, who had heightened senses dues to his magic, looked helplessly at Inari. Inari just shrugged, he wouldn't anger Erza if he could help it, and it wasn't worth it.

After a while, Erza calmed down, and explained that she needed them to come along with their mission. Natsu and Gray 'earnestly' agreed, if only to get her to be less angry. Suddenly Natsu's flying cat companion joined them.

"Can Lucy come too? She formed a team with me and Natsu earlier." Happy

Lucy was shocked, but before she could say anything, Erza agreed and started dragging everyone out of the guild.

"But I'm not powerful enough to fight a dark guild!!!" Lucy

"Aye, sir!!!" Happy

Don't worry Lucy, we'll protect each other, so we won't get hurt." Inari

Together, the group of 5 people and 1 flying cat left for Magnolia station to catch a train to their destination.
