What gun?

The scream of a helpless woman being eaten alive by a mutated fish echoes in the dead silence of the office. On the other side of the office, a man was nonchalantly walking straight towards the emergency exit.

As he passed by the narrow path to the exit, to his sides were glass rooms usually meant for small-scale meetings. Wall decal covered half of the walls of the glass room making it unable to be see through.

Yet a few pairs of eyes were watching from within the glass room meekly not daring to fully extend their head as they were afraid that the mutated fish would see them. But the gunshots made their heart swayed as they peeked outside and saw the duel between a man and a mutated fish.

"That guy has a gun!" shouted a middle age man with his hairline already receding and a few strands of hair turning grey.

"Lower your voice senior Myunghoon, if that monster fish hear us. We will be dead!" an office lady who looks already went passed thirty warned her boss.

While the rest of the surviving office worker numbering up to four or so were numbed to the scene of these two bickering around. They still couldn't shake off the fear of watching their colleagues being eaten by a monster. That scene was burned deep into their memories and will be a nightmare in their sleep.

"Who is that guy? Miss Eunyoung do you know him?" Myunghoon the boss of this office floor noticed that this man was wearing office work clothes with a familiar ID pass hanging on his neck. He realized that this guy was definitely an employee of this company even with his foreign look.

"No, I don't know. Never seen him before." Eunyoung the 2nd in command of this office floor shook her head.

"Boss, I know that guy." An office lady sprang up in action as she knew who they were talking about.

"Hyesoo, you know him? Who is he?" asked Eunyoung.

Hyesoo approached her bosses as this woman was none other than the person who greeted Stephanie and Aran when they first arrived at the office.

"That guy is a friend of Stephanie."

"Stephanie? Oh, that new girl. Great, then he's an employee." Myunghoon, was getting a few ideas in his head as he held a high position in this company. Realizing that this man with a gun was one of the employees of this company, then he could use his corporate position to his advantage.

BANG!

A round of gunshot rang in the air. Myunghoon and Eunyoung hastily glanced through the decal of the glass wall and saw the man with the gun casually stepped inside the emergency staircase with the glass door that divided the office and the staircase shattered on the office floor in pieces.

GROWL!!!

The mutated fish once again attracted to the sound of the gunshot. Turning around, it saw the silhouette of Aran disappearing into the staircase.

Myunghoon was nervous, the plan inside his head was about to fade into the abyss. If the mutated fish chased after Aran, then his plan could not be accomplished.

"Eunyoung rally them up! We need to leave now!" Myunghoon shouted as time was ticking.

"Guys we are going for it! We need to run!" a trusty aide, she boosted the morale of her subordinates.

Yet a few were still wallowing in despair.

"Let's go! Just leave those who don't want to."

Myunghoon made a decisive decision as he dashed out of the glass room with the rest following behind him. Two people were left inside the glass room to fend for themselves not knowing where their fate lies upon.

As the glass door closed, the mutated fish rushed passed the glass room as its sight were on the fleeing new preys.

Myunghoon felt conflicted as he couldn't see the faint shadow of Aran. He was flustered not knowing where did the gunman went to. It's either upstairs or down.

"Boss Myunghoon, what are we waiting for?" Eunyoung was panicking seeing her boss stopped in the middle of running from a freaking killing monster.

"Argh! Help!"

Myunghoon glanced back and saw one of them being eaten by the mutated fish as the rest started to crawl on the floor away from the bloodbath.

One of them fled downstairs not caring about the decision of their leader. Myunghoon saw that panicking subordinate of his fleeing downstairs, his gut was telling him something else.

"Boss!" Eunyoung was on the verged of crying seeing how still her boss.

"Run upstairs!" beckoned Myunghoon.

"What?" Eunyoung and the rest didn't understand the motive of running upstairs as getting off this building was their priority of being safe yet seeing Myunghoon boldly running towards the top, the rest couldn't help but to follow.

No matter what, they gritted their teeth and follow Myunghoon. In a working culture like this company of theirs, having a higher position was like a license of getting anything to their heart desires.

The thought of disobeying a superior's order may cause their job at risk. More so in a country like Goryeo where the unemployment rate is at the highest percentile, them being in a company like this was luck itself since it was one of those high paying desk jobs with benefits.

Although the current situation was freakish to the point of unbelievable, their mind was still holding on to the stability of a nation like theirs. They truly believe that the government could handle this mess. After all this nightmare is settled, their life will return back to normal and normal mean having a job, thus they could not risk losing their job!

They gritted their teeth and ran upstairs following behind their boss. Their screaming coworker who was in the mouth of the mutated fish was left helpless by himself as he watched of how cruel human being can be in the last seconds of his life.

These seven office workers rushed towards the top. Reaching the roof of the building they managed to escape unscathed. Unknown to them who were immersed in the anxiety and fear of the situation. The rest of the floor remained serene like nothing was wrong to begin with.

Yet as the mutated fish crawled up the stairs reaching the twenty-first floor. One of its eyes met with an office lady who was apparently taking a break refilling her bottle at the water dispenser. Too bad for her, the water dispenser was placed at the far end of the office closed to the glass emergency door. A slight bad luck in the middle of the day.

In just an instant fear struck her as she dropped the bottle to the floor as her scream bellowed through the whole office. The mutated fish slammed right into the twenty-first-floor office as once again a bloodbath repeated once more.

Back on the rooftop, these seven were gasping for air as their bodies were perspiring heavily as if they had just run a marathon yet the truth was they just escape from the mouth of death, while their office-mates at the twenty-first floor were dying one by one.

Some luck they had.

Meanwhile, Myunghoon saw the light. Not far away from them, he saw Aran standing right by the edge of the building as the wind gently caressed his medium length hair.

Myunghoon hurriedly called the three tired men who were catching their breath. These four men approached Aran from the back.

Aran the man Myunghoon seek turned around and saw these four approaching him. He appeared expressionless yet a gentle smile surfaced.

"Nice breeze isn't it." greeted Aran.

"I'm Park Myunghoon, General Manager of the Sales Department. I will be frank foreigner, give me the gun and I will probably let you keep your job. Although you are not from my team, I will assure you this, I'm quite influential in this company it would be better for you to be on my good side." he smiled like a shady greedy businessman as he threatened this young foreigner in front of him.

He knew if he had that gun with him, he would at least be safe. Who knows when those monsters would pop out again. Although he could rely on the police force of Goryeo but against such a monster, having something like a gun was like an assurance.

They were silence between them. Aran laid his eyes upon these four people, judging by the situation, it was a simple case of bullying at the adult level.

Aran's smile didn't fade as he just shrugged both of his shoulders with a few hand gestures accompanied by a simple message.

"Gun? What gun?"
