~Skriii...
A ferocious monstrosity suddenly appeared in front of Jay after a few minutes of roaming the forest. The monster looked like a giant caterpillar. The only difference it had was its purplish skin and the spiky carapace on it.
Jay immediately jumped back away the moment he saw this monster in front of him. Just at the same time he backed away, some kind of corrosive poison came out of the monster's body and splattered around a small area around it.
'Feather Storm'
Jay quickly went to his chicken form and activated this skill. He also made sure to use Fate Particles this time to enhance the skill's power. The effects were a bit more destructive than what Jay have thought it would be.
The monster quickly got filled with holes as the feathers pierced through it. Besides the monster, even the trees nearby got filled with holes. It was as if Jay used a machine gun do shoot down everything in sight.
~Skriii...
The monster instantly regenerated all of its injuries and tried to flee as quickly as possible. It knew that it made a mistake facing Jay. But before it could even flee...
~Boom, boom, boom...
Jay suddenly used 'Egg Bomb' and tried to see its effects when amplified with Fate Particles. Just from a single egg, three large explosions occurred as the egg came in contact with the monster.
"What the hell..." Jay thought to himself since wasn't this a bit too overpowered? If he faced the monster the normal way and did not use Fate Particles to amplify his skills, it would probably take him a lot more time.
The monster he just killed was called as a Darkvenom Creeper. Its skin was supposed to be some kind of impenetrable armor unless it ejects the poison stored on its body. As for its spiky carapace, it further improved the defense of the Darkvenom Creeper since it cannot be scratched and destroyed by sharp weapons. The only lethal weapon that this monster had beside its usual attacks that involved charging and jumping on its targets, was its poison that can corrode almost anything.
"If my chicken skills are this strong... then what about my moon warrior skills? Then what about the other Fatelords?" Question after question popped out of Jay's head as he looked at the pitiful corpse of the Darkvenom Creeper he just killed.
"Let me answer some of those questions." Hellson suddenly spoke up and Jay looked for a spot to chill and relax since other kinds of monsters might arrive at the spot sooner or later.
...
"We Fatelords are ranked according to how much Fate Particles we can control. Go and try counting the Fate Particles you can control first before I continue."
"Wait, there is a limit of Fate Particles you can control?" Jay immediately asked.
"Indeed. Go on and try it out." Hellson said hurriedly, as if he cannot wait to see how good Jay's talent was regarding control of Fate Particles.
Jay quickly tried to gather the magicka around him and slowly turn each particle into Fate Particles.
"One, two..."
Jay slowed down the process and made sure to keep count. But after reaching a count of 100, he thought Hellson was just pulling a prank on him since he did not feel anything weird and knew he can still keep creating Fate Particles endlessly.
"You don't have to count one by one, geez... The lowest number of Fate Particles a Fatelord can control is 2000."
"I hate you..." Jay said as he sighed, wondering why Hellson couldn't have said so earlier.
After 10 minutes of creating Fate Particles around him, Jay finally stopped since he felt really exhausted. It was as if he hadn't slept for days and might die of exhaustion if he continues.
"So, what's my result?" Jay asked while trying to relax himself. But after a few seconds, Hellson still did not answer him so he asked the same question again.
"Your Fatelord ranking... I don't know how to say this properly..." Hellson stuttered as he answered Jay and even had a slight pause in his words.
"You know I can just go back to Stromm's home right? Don't keep my waiting if you are not going to tell me..." Jay said as he faked a frown on his face.
"50,000 Fate Particles in total. If I remember correctly and if it still hadn't changed, Stromm can only control up to 48,000 Fate Particles... since this is the case, I believe I do not have to tell you your rank." Hellson said, as if he was trying his best not to puke blood.
He just found it too ridiculous and impossible that Jay who recently became a Fatelord managed to do this. It would usually take years for Fatelords to improve their control over Fate Particles and increase the number they can control. He had been a Fatelord for more than a thousand years already and he can only control around 39,000 Fate Particles. It just felt really stifling deep inside to learn that a newbie Fatelord like Jay surpassed him and one of the strongest Fatelords in history, Stromm.
"So, you're telling me I am stronger than most of the Fatelords? AWESOME!!!" Jay said happily and decided to go back to Stromm's home to brag about this and move on to the next part of his Fatelord Training.
...
--- Stromm's Home
"I wonder what that kid is doing now..." Stromm had this line of thought while he lied down on his bedroll. He had a large slice of pie on his right hand and a large cookie on his left hand. He was eating these foods alternately while waiting for the time to pass.
Just as he was about to swallow the food he was chewing...
"Lord Stromm, I'm back!" Jay suddenly entered his home and witnessed Stromm acting lazily again.
Stromm almost choked on his food and suddenly grabbed something to drink from his food box.
...
"Don't tell me you're already done..." Stromm said as he drank some water and trying to calm himself down.
"Yeah, kind of. By the way, check this out!" Jay said happily and started creating Fate Particles around him. Then he stopped again after ten minutes.
"This.. this..." Stromm started walking away a few steps away from Jay as he leaned on the wall before slumping down.
"Impossible..." After looking at Jay and blinking his eyes a couple of times, Stromm punched himself to check if he was dreaming or not.
"Lord Stromm?" Jay pretended not to know the meaning behind his actions, but deep inside, he wanted to celebrate and start a party for his 'awesomeness'.
"50,000 Fate Particles... a single day and you already have this much control over Fate Particles... Haha... Hahaha... Hahahaha!!! Hellson was right about you!" Stromm decided to set aside his own pride for now and started laughing out loud. He knew that most of the planar invaders are so screwed now.
"I don't have anything else to teach you, Chicken Hero. I will ask someone to guide you back to Izumi's Abode so you can start your plan. I also told Izumi that the moment you return, she will do everything she can to help you since she is the one in charge of that continent anyways."
After saying this, Stromm grabbed Jay's right hand and looked at him seriously.
"I wish you good luck in the future wars to come brother."
