Chapter 28: Second Wave

After taking care of my transformation, I immediately take a nap. If there is anything else happening, I will wake up. And finding out what this floor is like can wait till I get some rest.

I wake up because of the trembling ground. I don't know how long I slept but it feels good. I need to sleep more often. In previous floor I didn't get a wink of sleep. And all that happened was quite stressful. So, it felt damn good to finally have some rest.

I stand up and notice Fenrir and Noir gone. I guess after waking up they went back to their space. Just as I thought that they come out and faces toward the street.

This time I see the ghouls. Those disgusting creatures on the second floor of the first floor. And like before there is more than thousands of them.

If previous wave is any indication, I think they will spawn for about an hour and if I manage to survive until then, I will win.

After finishing this wave, I will see where those roads lead to. And the ghouls reach us. We each take one road and start to fight the ghouls.

Yup, I was right. They spawn for an hour and after that, they will stop spawning. Now that I finished this wave I will go and see where these roads lead to.

Other two are exhausted like before. I guess it is understandable. They don't have a world tree supplying them with almost endless vitality.

I go along the middle road. And other two stay behind to sleep again. After all sleep is the best way to recover some stamina.

I run along the road for thirty minutes and come before a dead end. Same white brick wall blocking my way. So, I guess the monsters come here by a portal. And I'm sure other two roads lead to same dead end too.

Then, I guess I need to finish the waves and kill the boss to ascend to next floor. I turn back and come to the junction. I have no idea how long it will be before the next wave. So, I guess my only choice is to wait.

I just slept, so that's out of question. I guess I will try out some of my ideas, then. I enter my third door. In here I can do anything. I love it.

So, let's try out my first idea. I channel my fourth technique but I channel two of them simultaneously on my two hands. I charge one with fire elemental mana and the other with earth elemental mana.

As I release them one on my left hand comes out as a twisting fire tornado and other on my right hand comes out as an earthen dragon. I will them to intermingle together.

And as they twist and turn together, they start to fuse and the earthen dragon starts to melt to become and lava dragon. This is not what I expected. I simply thought that they will fuse and the earthen dragon will catch fire.

I mean result is more than I hoped for. This lava dragon is much more powerful than any of them. Now I need to learn to do it without a need to channel two dragons together.

But I can't help but wonder why it turned into lava. It takes a at least seven hundred degrees Celsius for the rock to turn into lava. And the temperature that my fire dragon exude is not that high. If it was its firepower will hit the roof. Even my OD fireball barely reach five hundred degrees Celsius.

So, my guess would be fusion of the elemental mana. Both dragons are composed of my elemental manas. Their properties may be different but their source is same. My soul. Then, when I fused my dragons, it wasn't their properties that fused but the elemental manas that they were composed of.

So, my conclusion is mixture of manas can bring out different kind of result. And I would like to try it out. First, convert my mana into elemental mana. Earth and fire elemental.

After doing that, I will them out of my body. As I will them out they come out of my palms. Fire mana looks like fiery particles floating around. As for the earth mana, it looks like dust floating around.

But even though they look like that, they don't have actual solidness like material. They are like air. Simply floating around.

Now, for the experiment I bring those two manas closer together. And as soon as they touch each other they turn into lava like my dragon. This lava isn't any kind of mana but lava.

Hmm, this is really interesting. So, my guess was right. It was the two elemental manas that fused and created the lava, not my fire dragon melting my earth dragon. I wonder what will happen if I fuse different kind of manas.

Only other kind of mana I can convert is water elemental. But I'm pretty sure about what I will get if I fuse water elemental mana with fire and earth. Still, I need to test it out and make sure.

So, I do what I did before. I convert my mana and will them out of my body. Water mana looks like blue particles floating around. I bring them closer and fuse them together. And as they fuse into one, they simply turn into steam. Just as I expected.

This steam's temperature is high. At least six hundred degrees Celsius. I'm sure it will come in handy in certain circumstances. But the situation I'm in right now is not one of them.

I wonder if it is same for everyone else. I have seen guild master casting a spell of flaming boulder. I'm sure she used same manas. But her spell only summoned boulder on fire to throw at the barrier. Mine turns into lava as soon as they come into contact.

Well, in guild master's case she may have just chanted the spell and had the corresponding result. After all, their power system is based on skills and classes. So, she may not need to do all I do to cast a spell.

Or my other hypothesis is that my knowledge and precognition is affecting my mana. I know that lava is just a molten rock. Since my mana is converted right within my soul, it may be affected by what I know and what I think.

Figuring out all of this is hard. I really wish that there was someone to teach me. I don't have any kind of basic knowledge about all this. I'm making all of this as I go. At least, when the tree was here, it confirmed or denied my guesses but now that even it is gone, it is hard.

Still, I need to figure it all out to learn to use all my arsenal to its fullest. Or else even one percent of neglect can get me killed in this place. After getting out of this place, I will stay put and learn a thing or two about this place and all of this.

At least I need to get myself a basic knowledge. And with basic knowledge I can figure out something advanced much easier. Without even basic knowledge I can't even start to guess with some accuracy. And I can keep going on complete guess work.

Next wave comes out after five hours. I suppose there will be a window of five hours between the waves. And this wave, I just as I expected is composed of skeleton warriors and skeleton mages.

But this time they are no longer in parties of five. There are thousands of them. Still, Fenrir and Noir dispose them easily. Fenrir simply jumps into shadows and come out from somewhere and slashes the skeletons apart with his beam and mana wave. Skeletons try to hit him with their swords or spell but he simply dives into one of their shadow to avoid their attack.

As for Noir, he simply charges through them like a freight train. Skeletons fall apart even before they manage to raise their swords or chant their spells. I think they can take care of them with no problem.

As for me, this just gives me chance to test out my new spell. During five hours of waiting I managed to master lava dragon spell. This one is different from my techniques.

After learning that I can make it out of just my mana I practiced to simply making it out of my elemental mana. And as I practiced it more and more I realized that I already had what I needed to do perfect this spell.

I already could shape my mana into any form I wanted and control it with ease of my mind. Only problem was fusing two elemental manas together. Learning that took a little bit of effort but after four hours I did it and that in turn formed my new spell matrix in my second door.

Now as I cast my spell matrix, lava dragon with two-meter radius come out and wreaks havoc on the skeletons. I think this will be easy.
