"Ed why do I have levels?"

"I do actually enjoy this thank you for being so thoughtful. But I have a question does that mean I need to slay monsters to level up and get stronger?"

[No you don't have to level up to get stronger. You can increase any of your stats without leveling up at all but if you choose to level up every stat gets 3 points added per level. In addition you get 10 points to distribute for every level. You can level up by either slaying monsters or taking on quests. But of course you don't have to do any of that.]

"Can you explained why I have so much energy and why I can't use it."

[The energy comes from your soul. After transmigrating, your soul obtained a special trait that allows it to draw energy from the void. Normally you would have to first draw energy from your surrounding and then store it in your body. It is way faster to access the energy stored in your body than the energy in the environment and fast access is crucial in a fight where you have to use a magic spell to kill your enemies. Drawing energy from the void however is as fast as drawing from your body but to use magic you would still have to let the energy flow through your body. And that amount will forever be finite as long as you are a mortal. So the reason why your energy is suppressed is to protect your body from exploding.]

"How likely is it that I come across such a convenient coincidence?"

[I know what you want to imply. You think that One-sama has given you a hand right?]

"Yes that's exactly what I thought about."

[Well although we don't have to many cases of souls transmigrating I don't think it's very likely to happen. But I can't know for sure. I guess we have to ask One-sama.]
