It was 3:00 am. The dark streets of Black City were empty, and it was normal at this time of night.
It was the time when people can act without the fear of being seen.
The rain was strong that night. All the better, it was a noise that covered those they could do. After all, if they acted in the shadows, it was not to be betrayed by the sounds.
A woman with long black hair was sitting at the wheel of a car of the same color. Despite her tired looks and her undereye bags, a gleam in her eyes indicated that she was well awake, ready to act.
Beside her, a bald man held a big suitcase in his arms. In the back, two other men sat in silence.
It was finally the bald who spoke first.
"It's almost time, Sharice, they should not be late."
"I know, shut up. It's not because I'm saying nothing that I sleep with my eyes open." Answered the woman dryly.
It was a routine mission, but she still had to be careful. The contents of the suitcase that his sidekick held between his arms was worth dear. Too expensive to lose it.
A ringtone rang in the vehicle, and Sharice grunted as she took out her phone.
"Shit, I thought I'd turned it off..."
It was a number she did not know. Surely spam that disturbed her at the worst moment... Without answering, she hung up the call and threw her phone in the back.
"Sharice, what is..."
One of the two men in the back seat who had finally opened his mouth to warn his companions, had done it too late. The car exploded, without warning, throwing the woman outside violently.
Sharice got up quickly despite the pain that ran through her body. Her ear hurt. Her eardrum had without a doubt exploded under the blast of the explosion. She glanced at her arm, which was not really in better shape, covered in blood and burns.
In front of her, the car was in flames. She looked for the men who accompanied her, not to make sure of their condition, but to find the suitcase she had to protect.
One of the two of the back seat was rolling over the floor, covered with fire, and the other was already dead inside the metal frame.
But no trace of the bald.
"Shit, where is he?"
How could the car have exploded in the first place? It was not a technical defect. It was sabotage.
Sharice put her hand in her pocket to grab her phone, but she remembered the stupid mistake she made by throwing it behind her. The device had remained in the car on fire, and was no longer operational.
She could not even tell her boss about the situation. She would have to settle all that alone.
Leaving the street where they had been parked for a moment, she began to search everywhere for the man who had disappeared. A shiny skull like his should not be difficult to find...
The woman decided to get on a lamppost to take a little height, continuing his inspection.
"Ah, it's easier when you win a few meters!"
The culprit was there, the suitcase in hand, hidden behind a bin. He must have hoped that everyone died in this explosion...
It was bad knowing Sharice.
The latter leaped from her perch, and burst upon her prey like a deadly bird. She landed on the trash in a crash that made the bald jump.
"So egg skull, are you trying to get away with the money?"
The man did not expect to see her alive. Even if she was a little hurt, she was far from dead... And the terrifying smile she showed was enough to make him understand that he would regret not having killed her.
"You can't do anything anymore, it's already too late!" He said with a trembling voice.
The bald man pulled a pistol from his jacket and fired several shots at Sharice without waiting. She, who had foreseen this situation, had already leaped to the other side of the street, laughing like a degenerate.
She was going fast. Far too fast for him to reach her, and he finished his charger while the panic began to make his legs shake.
"Well, tell me, where did you took your shooting courses ? unless you're one of those rubbish hired just to do the dirty work!" She yelled at him as she kicked the bald man's face, who rolled to the ground, his mouth bleeding. Some of his teeth had flown at the same time.
"I... I beg you! I have a wife, and two children... I was told it would be an easy job, so I accepted! I was just... Needing money !" Begged the man, prostrating himself at the feet of the woman.
So she was right, the classic "poor father". Unfortunately for him, Sharice and pity, it was like politicians and the truth. They were not made to be associated.
"Ha, so you're a waste!" She laughed. She squatted next to him, and grabbed him by the neck, lifting his head to look him in the eye.
"I... I beg you..." he implored once more.
"We're not in a game here, no second chance, darling."
Rising suddenly, she crushed the face of the bald against the trash, causing a noise that echoed throughout the street. Fuck discretion, it was not the time for that anymore.
"Waste like you, they go where they should be!"
Sharice hit the man's head against the plastic of the dumpster again. He cried out in pain, to accompany the pretty crackling that sounded at the same time. No more teeth, no more nose! The woman laughed again.
"Don't worry, darling, at least you won't make that mistake in your next life!"
Pulling him up, she lifted the lid of the dumpster and placed the bald's head inside. Just the head. Like that, when she was going to close the garbage bin, his neck and his skull would probably be crushed. And she would have nothing to clean, since everything would already be in the trash, what luck!
"Don't you think you're at least lucky to be killed by a woman as beautiful as me ? Many men would pay a lot for what you suffer, you know ~"
Sharice's sadistic smile would terrify anyone. She let off steam. She loved it, to see the frightened face of those who tried to block her way, without knowing the risks.
"Come on, well played."
The woman raised her arm to grab the lid, which she intended to close on the head of the bald.
But a sharp pain crossed her member.
She looked beside her, having heard the shot coming from her right, and saw her forearm and hand fall, cut off from the rest of her body by the bullet that had passed.
"Shit..."
Still under the effect of surprise, she could not avoid the second bullet, which passed through her stomach, leaving a gaping hole instead of her intestines.
Sharice fell to the ground, her blood mixing with the puddle that was gathering. So the bald was not alone. She had neglected this possibility.
"You..."
She could not even talk because the pain was horrible. She was not going to die here, not because of such a jerk!
"I... will... kill you..."
The bald man grabbed the suitcase and ran off without asking for his rest. She was alone, dying, in that fucking alley. It was not exactly the end she would have dreamed of.
"Ah..." There was no more than a gurgling sound in her throat, not very elegant for a woman.
As her eyes closed and her breath shortened, she saw two people enter the alley. Because of the pain, she could not see clearly... it was the silhouette of a woman, and that of a man she seemed to know.
"Work done, boss." A voice she had never heard came to her.
"Perfect, luckily you were here."
On the other hand, she knew the second voice.
Boss. The boss. It was her boss. The one for whom she worked for years. The one for whom she accepted this mission as well.
"Boss... Boss... Boooooss !!" Sharice screamed with rage with the little strength she had left. Why ? Why had he betrayed her? She who had always been so loyal? She who had not missed any mission?
"Jill, finish your job." He ordered in an empty voice.
The stranger approached, pointing her rifle at Sharice once more. It was a beautiful weapon, and she knew the power of its bullets...
One last lodged in her body, and her vision became black.
