Selling Elixirs

Lake felt invigorated after sparring with Lyra, despite it only being for a few hours he had been able to learn a lot from the fight as well.

While defending he was watching Lyra's fighting style and he had noticed how her moves became smoother as time went on. She was able to connect attacks together trying to let Lake counter against her.

He realized that he needed to hone his martial arts as well, while his fighting abilities were top notch he had only ever practiced against puppets. The feeling of fighting with another person was completely different.

Yet he had also witnessed the true strength of an ability user. Someone like Gregory couldn't even compare to the powers of Lyra, the ice princess.

When Lake saw the ice shards firing at him he found it difficult to dodge and had simply opted to defend, if she hadn't held back he was unsure of defending it with his half assed barrier.

He was even more anticipating the day he unlocked his ability.

Besides thinking about his martial arts, Lake also spent a lot of time thinking about the Cleansing elixir. With it being the only of it's kind it would quickly become a phenomenon.

With his current funds he could make a quick batch of 10 Cleansing elixirs. He wouldn't really run any risk either as he had the system to concoct the elixirs for him with a low chance of failure.

With that decided he felt the need to ask Vince about any good locations where he could sell them. Or even better to get someone to sell them for him. Not many people would be willing to buy unknown elixirs from a no named 12 year old.

The next day while Lake was at the armory he had brought the topic up to Vince while he was free.

"You want to sell an elixir? Are you sure it's an elixir?" Vince had a skeptical look on his face, which wasn't to be blamed on him. To find a boy like Lake able to concoct any kind of elixir was a surprise on it's own, unless Lake was an alchemists apprentice then it wouldn't be surprising.

But he wouldn't need the job at the armory if that were so. Lake nodded while speaking, "Yeah, I've already confirmed that it works, I just need to find a way to sell it. Any ideas?"

While working with Vince Lake already knew that he was a man of character, he wouldn't skimp Lake out of the money or forcefully take a cut so he could leave it to Vince with less worry. Though even if Vince wanted a cut Lake would be more than fine with it.

"I see, I might know a place that'd be willing to buy them, but I don't think they'd be willing to buy them when they came from a kid."

Hearing Vince's words Lake inwardly nodded, he knew he would come into this sort of problem. Just when he was going to ask about the place he heard Vince speak again.

"If you're willing to trust me I can sell them for you under my name, it's a small matter so I don't need a cut. Just don't forget me when you learn more recipes in the future." Vince spoke with a grin.

Lake was surprised to hear Vince being so forthright with him. He thought he'd have to bargain to get the result that he wanted, yet good things come unexpectedly.

Not wasting any words Lake smiled and thanked him. "Thank you Vince, and don't worry. I don't think I could forget a face like yours anyways."

With that established, when Lake received the money from Vince he would be able to purchase more elixir recipes and ingredients and increase his alchemy level.

Lake had received 5 more exp from the last mission when he had healed Lily. But that amount wasn't enough to get much. Lake was more willing to save it for when he found a better elixir.

He was going to stick to buying the recipes from the association for now.

With that taken care of Lake could now focus on his own training. While fighting Lyra he had found the rain of ice shards impossible to dodge. Even with his fitness being much higher than Lyra's, he would still find it hard to bridge the gap that her ability gave her.

He wanted to focus on his cultivation and unlock his ability as quickly as possible. For now his stats had increased gradually from when he had reached the first stage of Swallowing Star.

Lake was already on the verge of becoming a 2nd stage copper esper. The rate at which he was improving could only be described as monstrous. But he knew that this would only occur in the beginning stages.

Later on the requirement for increasing his stage would change and he wouldn't be able to advance as quickly as he was now.

But for now it was a relief to see that he would definitely complete his first mission. It was only a matter of time.

He had accumulated a good amount of skills at this point, so he felt that it would be best to perfect his usage over them first. It was better to do the same move one thousand times than to do a thousand moves one time.
