Deal

"Oh you know my name living one, speak then who are you and who sent you?"

"Tsk, how rude, won't you offer your guest a seat at least?" I answer him playfully and the skeleton seemed amused with my words.

"Oh do be my guest, sit wherever you want, just don't get too close because I can't really guarantee your safety." I can hear him speak but I can't see his jaw moving which freaks me out a bit but well he is a lich so who cares, I take my seat on a rock in a corner as lich repeated.

"So living one, mind explaining some things to me now?"

"Oh that, yeah I can if you have time to listen to my story." I try to act as profound as I can but I think my acting skills are quite low because this skeleton bursted into laughing fit.

"Haha are you perhaps blind living one?" He asked me while I can see he is trying to restrain himself from laughing.

"No, my vision is perfectly fine."

"So you can see that I'm a skeleton and you entered aware of who I am and yet you ask if I have time, you don't seem stupid living one that's why I was wondering if there was some problem with your vision."

"Oh come on Mathias, no need to be so petty and question my every word is there? I was just trying to make some small talk with you; I guess sitting here staring at your dead wife could be a bit boring so I'm trying to be a good guest."

"So living one you think spending eternity with my love is boring?" I sensed a drop in temperature in this room so I guess I screwed something up so I try to correct myself.

"Hey Mathias no need to get upset, it wasn't my intention to insult you or your purpose anyway, I have another purpose for my visit." Room got slightly warmer so I guess he isn't as jumpy as before.

"Then skip to your purpose living one and stop wasting our time."

"Sure, then let's start from the beginning then, I doesn't really matter how do I know you, it's a fact that I do know you and that's all that matters, no one sent me and I came here on my own accord. And for last my purpose, I came here with intention to trade with you undying one, perhaps you might be interested in what I have to offer."

"What can you possibly offer me that could pique my interest; you play a lot of games living one for just a trade."

"Hoh as a trader yourself you should know that every successful trade has some games in it."

"So you even know my history, you are well informed living one, you have some potential as a merchant I see, sorry for my manners, I didn't hear your introduction?" Mathias responded to me for the first time with obvious playfulness in his voice, finally I got his interest.

"That was my lack of manners undying one, name is Zero, visitor from another world seeking legacies and riches of your world."

"Interesting name there Zero, but it rings like a lie in my ears."

"Well it's not a lie, but it's not a truth either, my name in this world is Zero and I see no point in speaking about my original name."

"Indeed you are right, there is no point, so let's find a point that is relevant, like your purpose of the trade perhaps?"

"Quite simple actually, I give you what you yearn for and you leave me with your legacy and knowledge."

"How can you possibly imagine what I yearn for living one?"

"Oh Mathias, you noticed earlier that I'm well informed and yet you suspect my knowledge now, if I wasn't sure of my information do you think I would've dared to strut in here like I did earlier."

"Foolish action that would've been, but foolish you don't seem."

"You spent a very long time down here Mathias, you defied order of life and death to seek for more time to be with you already gone wife, for what actually, she can't respond to you can she undying one?"

"Don't test my patience living one, I like you but that doesn't mean that will stop me from ripping you to shreds if you push too far."

"What if I offer you the only thing you lack?"

"You mean…"

"Yes Mathias, what if I offer you soul of your wife, or at least her soul shard but I believe you have ways of mending her fragmented soul."

"You? With your pathetic strength wish to offer me something even I can't obtain? Foolish words living one, you surprise me."

"Well, I'm in a bit of rush so I came here to offer you a bet of a lifetime, it's your choice however if you wish to gamble or not."

"Merchants don't gamble living one, merchants only know of profit."

"Indeed you are right, listen to my deal then and then you decide if it was worth listening to me."

"On account of you amusing me I will allow you to finish your gimmicks."

"Give me your legacy, give me your knowledge, give me your power and I will grow further than you did and do things you never could and then I will be able to obtain one thing you can't but yearn for so much, the gambling part of this deal is you having faith in my potential."

"A gamble indeed, now tell me living one why should I believe in your potential."

"Well you have been buried here for so long so you might not know what am I actually, you see I call you undying one but in fact my life is more undying than you, every time one of my kind dies we are reborn, although with some penalties but besides that we don't lose anything, our progress is certain as long as we aren't stupid enough, but I think you already judged me and I'm not stupid in your eyes."

"Alright living one, you have me convinced, I would've left my legacy to someone anyway so I can just leave it with you, at least as a reward for amusing me if nothing, I do hope you will fulfill your part of the deal, because if you don't even gods above won't be able to hide you from my wrath."

"Her death happened 489 years ago and her soul still hasn't reincarnated which leaves me with a bit less than 11 years to find her soul and bring it to you, you have my word that you will have it even before that."
