Daddy Issues

Setting his father's home as a waypoint, Kong Fang left to have a chat with Dad. Arriving at his home, Kong Fand walked in without knocking.

He found his father in his study looking over some documents with a few books piled up.

His adoptive father, Su Hong, was level twenty or in cultivation terms, he was a level fifteen Qi Condensation cultivator and liked to research the history of cultivation.

He had a little bit of fame in certain circles for books he wrote on the subject of the history of cultivation. He only lacked a slight nudge to enter Foundation Establishment, but he had lingered in Qi Condensation.

At one time he was considered the genius of the clan and it was thought he would lead the clan away from the little hole in the ground place they lived currently into the greater world.

Su Hong thought this of himself and when he was around sixteen he left the clan to explore the world outside. Three years later, he returned with Bradley Addams.

Bradley began to wonder about the circumstances of his adoption. Could it be like VICKI suggested there was a mother out there who needed to be rescued? What about his biological father? Was he also still alive?

It seems now is a good time to ask those questions, and the only one who knew the answers to those questions was his father Su Hong.

"Father," Kong Fang began by catching his father's attention. Normally, he would wait until his father reached a natural stopping point before making himself known. However, he still needed to find the girl and Fatty. He really didn't have any time to waste on being polite.

"Bradley! I was just thinking about you and here you are!" said Kong Fang enthusiastically.

Kong Fang smiled at his adoptive father. Although he didn't know the man, he held the memories of Kong Su's love and affection from the real Bradley Addams in his mind. It caused Kong Fang to feel positively inclined towards Su Hong. Bradley came before his father and gave him a hug before taking one of the chairs offered to him by Su Hong.

"What do I owe today's visit to?" asked Su Hong with great warmth.

"I came because I've finally become curious about my origins. I wondered if father can tell me about my biological parents," asked Kong Fang.

"Oh, you're finally curious and now you want to know everything. Fine, fine, fine," said Su Hong. Su Hong began to shift nervously in his seat. Looking around he and Bradley, Su Hong felt more reassured.

"I suppose you're wondering about your biological parents because of all the horrible things happening in the clan against you right now," said Su Hong.

"Father, I can tell you do not want to talk about this matter openly, I wouldn't have asked, but it seems like I no longer have any choice. I

can only tell you that you have always been my father in my heart. I'm not asking because I'm dissatisfied. I just need to know. Things in the clan are getting complicated and I want to make sure my family background isn't going to rise up to make things even more difficult," said Kong Fang.

Su Hong looked at his son and knew the day he dreaded; the day he told his son about his true origins was finally here. Su Kong took a few moments to clear his mind.

"Son, I have a very difficult story to tell you and I need you to listen carefully," said Su Hong.

While Su Hong was in a very difficult place emotionally, Kong Fang was making "it's a good" sign with his too arms forming the shape of an American Football goal.

Congratulations, boss, you've just activated the "baby with a mysterious past," trope," said VICKI.
