I looked ugly, didn't I?

Three weeks after their traveling to the deep jungle, the land for their based camp were totally changed. The company started to recruit women to work there especially in clerical works.

The company also recruited them as the staff in the same field like Leona did. A new girl joined their group. Very strong and got muscles~ from the back they would think they saw a masculine guy. Her name was Agnes.

Previously there were only 50 men live on that land. As lately there were more and more people coming in. The number was increasingly to two hundred employees. The small families also started to be seen on that land.

As more and more people were coming to the land, the land eventually got its name from the gyration of the increasing population of people on that land , they started to call the land as ~

"People's Town."

The town was getting lively and merrily. The children were also could be seen everywhere. Therefore the company built another infrastructures such as another few blocks of terrace house, Kindergartens, Convenient Stores, a bank and the line tower for telecommunication. When the kindergarten was opened for registration, there were 30 children aged 4-6 years old registered!

Leona met Uncle Bob after their short briefing. They would go to the forest in few days. She brought Agnes to show her around and went to the workshop.

They double-checked their 4x4 wheels trucks. There were 6 trucks overall ready for the traveling and five teams would go out for the traveling. That was the first time they went in a huge number for the convoy to the forest.

All of them were excited to have such numbers to go together under the same department.

While they were checking the tires, suddenly a kitten came near them and brushed off its fur docilely to Agnes' calf who was squatting checking the air pressure one of the tyre.

When she saw the little furry next to her, their eyes met ...1,2,3.

"Arrrghhhhhhhh!!!!!" Agnes from masculine suddenly became so dramatist.

She was thrown away from her position. Leona was also screaming after she heard the scream from the other side.

"What is it? What was it??" Shouted Leona and hurriedly rushed to Agnes.

When she reached Agnes, she could not see anything but a kitten. She still looked around perhaps something big and dangerous. Still nothing but the kitten after she searched around.

"Tell me, what was it?" Leona kept on asking when saw Agnes' eyes still trembling as if was looking at something terrified.

"Is it a snake?!" Leona still tried to search for it at the back where the kitten was playing.

"Arrrgghh!!! Get it away from me!!" She shoved the kitten when it ran near her and was playing with her.

Eventually, Leona understood. She picked up the kitten and caressed the kitten in her arm.

"Don't be afraid. It won't bite you." If not because of their incoming trip, she would like to play joke with her, badly.

She almost cracked her laugh but she then realized it was something big deal for Agnes as she herself also had her own weakness -frog (ewwwww).

Leona put the kitten far away from the workshop. Then she came back and assured Agnes that the cat was already gone far from them.

Leona could see she was perspired because of the anxiety for the kitten.

"I looked ugly, didn't I?" She broke the word at last after they both sat on the bench.

"No you don't. Do you mind to tell me why did you behave that way just now?" Leona knew she need to know the reason and it could be handy in the future.

Agnes looked like was trying to pull herself together to get the courage to speak. After a while then she spoke.

"I had a bad experienced with the cat when I was a child. I used to be locked-in in the small store room with an astray cat. It was a black cat and only God knew how terrified I am with the cat. You know the cat would be dangerous when it was not familiar with human."

"I'm so sorry." Leona patted her at the shoulder.

"The scars are still with me. They were pretty a deep cut."

She showed the scars of the claws scratching on his both arms after she lifted her sleeves. Leona was so regret to what she had thought earlier about to crack a laugh upon funny expression from Agnes for the kitten.

It explained why she wore long sleeve most of the time she could remember from the first time they were introduced by Uncle Bob.
