Origins and Secrets

800 years before present...

The continent of Thetes was at war, the dragons led the war on behalf of all magical creatures , they first enslaved the beast kin/ beast men. Then they led the war on humanity, a war on a scale never before seen.

This war tipped in favor of the dragons not because they were bigger or fire breathing but due to the presence of one dragon.

Tevor the bane, was the name given to it by the humans. It was a scarlet colored dragon that was slightly bigger than the rest, but that was not the scariest part, it was a half-saint realm monster the highest cultivation level a magical creature had ever attained in all history.But that was two decades ago, now it was attempting to achieve sainthood, if it were to succeed then it will be the end of humans.

The humans put up a tough fight but they lost city after city, they were oblivious to the fact that the bane had not set foot in the battlefield recently. Never in a million years had there been a saint level monster in this world, so they didn't consider the fact that Tevor was attempting to breakthrough.

But all hope was not lost because today the humans finally produced a half saint of their own, a genius man, the likes of whom only appear in a thousand years.His name was Alfred Farlorn the then head/patriarch of the Farlorn family. He attained the realm of half saint at the age of 95 years, this feat was not even attained by Tevor the bane as it took him 200 years.

With the addition of another half saint the war lost its momentum and due to the absence of Tevor on the battlefield the humans reclaimed most of their cities, the morale of the soldiers rose, people were celebrating but the higher ups in the war knew the exact situation.

During the recent battle they discovered that one of the cities had a large crater in it and it was artificial. This city before the war was a heaven on earth and was called heavenly dew city, the city had the highest mana concentration and the city never suffered from any form of diseases, but now the city was razed to the ground and the mana concentration was diluted as in like any other places in Thetes.

When liberating the cities the humans obtained large number of slaves of different races like the dwarves and gnomes, the most significant of these prisoners was a very old woodland elf. Elves are known for their beauty,their long life span,peaceful temperament and their love for nature. This old Elf was enjoying its last few days. It had suffered a huge deal from the dragons. Apparently the Elf was one of the Elders in its community, they were well learnt due to their long life span, the elf was kidnapped from its village a few years ago to study the geology of a particular city, the heavenly dew city. While researching the source of the mana the Elf made discovery of a legendary spirit vein called the Dragon vein, the spirit stones it produced had superior effect over a particular race,the dragon race. The humans were a step late because the spirit vein had been completely extracted and was shipped of to Tevor. The humans found the reason for Tevor's absence, it dawned upon them that once Tevor breaks through it will be the end of times.

The human monarchs had formulated a plan after a long time of discussion. Their plan involved sending one of their elite forces to infiltrate the Tevor's nest that was situated deep within the enemy lines and sabotage its breakthrough. Once Tevor suffers from Mana/Qi deviation it will be near impossible to break through to saint realm in this life time. Naturally the elite force they mentioned was none other than Alfred. He knew that the human monarchs were selfish and wanted to eliminate any threat to their power, so they are sending him to his doom. Even though Alfred knew about this and had to power to say no , he didn't. He knew that Tevor was a tumor that had to be cut down before it spreads and kills everything.

That night Alfred called upon a family meeting and ordered them to never take part in the political battle that will soon ensue after he took down Tevor. He knew that after his death the Farlorn family would be destroyed so he wanted to save them, he didn't desire any power and only wanted a peaceful life for his family. So he nominated the next patriarch and laid down various rules they had to follow after his death. But never would have Alfred guessed that his family was equally greedy and wanted a piece from the political battle after the war ends. They were not like Alfred who had a generous heart. Unknown to Alfred that after the war, his descendants would compete for power only to be destroyed by their enemies and reduced to a small clan confined to the borderlands.

After giving the necessary commands Alfred set out on the journey that will decide the fate of the entire continent.
