The unmarked grave.

In the middle of the woods there was a heated battle going on between Ed and the beast king. Ed who has reached iron initial stage in Titan's might had brute force but his movements lacked finesse and the beast king kept dodging his attacks and this infuriated Ed, but this was all a learning experience so he continued to to attack the beast.

The spirit bear wolf king instinctively felt that the small humans attack were dangerous especially his glistening dagger. But the brat lacked experience so it was able to dodge his attacks time and again. Even though the human had less experience it couldn't find a blind spot to attack as the kid's reaction time was off the charts.

Ed began to get the hang of it and began to grace the beast, he simultaneously unleashed all the martial arts he memorized.

First he covered the distance between himself and the animal with the martial art " light steps" and then swung his dagger aimed at the beasts abdomen, when the animal dodged it and counterattacked, he used the martial skill " Parry" using his daggers which distributed the damage obtained from the attack towards his legs efficiently. Then he continued to attack with "short slash" and finally completed with " deep pierce" a piercing attack.

If he was fighting according to the style learnt from his previous life then he would have ended it within 5 moves but he wanted to get to know this worlds martial arts system as he found it special. Ed had bought a number of low level martial arts manual from the travelling merchants and due to his higher cultivation levels they were more deadly than usual. But he found that these martial arts where different from his worlds traditional martial arts as they were not based on body postures and had only a single step, ,meaning if Ed followed the attack model i.e the way the mana is distributed then the attack occurs. This was confusing at first but as he fought the beast king he got an idea and combined the martial arts from both his lives. Ed began to use this worlds martial techniques as his final attack while he used his previous life's technique to carry forward the final attack.

After 15 minutes of continues battle the beast king was limping with countless blade wounds on its body and the poisonous mana had continuously damaged its internal organs. Ed didn't have a single wound on his body but he was slightly tired from repeated usage of the martial techniques.

Ed had gained lots of insights into how to effectively use his techniques and the speed at which he executed his techniques also improved. Ed had achieved his goals so he decided to rap things up.

Ed gave the beast king a swift death, he didn't kill its cub. Ed then entered the beast kings cave, a lot of other beasts had come when they sensed the fight earlier but seeing the human kill their king they just ran with their tails between their legs. The cave was mostly empty except for some bones , some rusted armors and other equipments of adventurers who came to kill the beast, but Ed did find some money, even though he had enough money it never hurt to have some more so Ed stored the money without any shame.

After clearing out the cave Ed began to climb the nearest tree and survey the surroundings as he tried to sense mana from some herbs. He did find some but nothing at the level of the willow mushroom he obtained earlier.

Just as Ed was about to give up he found a trace amount of Mana emanating some distance away.Ed thought that it might be some small herb as its mana signature was small, but none the less Ed made his way to the location to check it out.

Along the way all manners of creatures avoided him like plague and disappeared from his sight.

Ed finally reached the place and was shocked to find a bog/quicksand pit. Ed started to empty the pit of the mud and the rotting dead leaves to find a skeleton.

Ed removed the skeleton from the pit and searched the bog again for anything dropped by the skeleton but he couldn't find anything.

So Ed came out of the pit and examined the skeleton. It had tattered clothes on it, but Ed could see that it must have been once a magus clock. Ed searched for some treasure like weapon/money/rings but it didn't have anything except a small pouch made from unknown material with some marking engraved on it stitched to the skeletons clothing.

Ed was thrilled, he had half expected it but when his hunch was confirmed he was elated. It was a kind of spatial treasure but there was nothing inside it. Ed felt so lucky even though it was empty as spatial treasures were rare and he desperately needed one. Since it was on a empty skeleton he knew that no one would come looking for it and it was quite spacious just like his tree house. Ed suppressed his happiness and carefully examined the skeleton. He guessed that the skeleton must be a male as it was huge and thick, he found that the skull was cracked with a hole in it obviously the cause of death, the body didn't have anything besides the empty pouch indicating that someone must have sneak killed and robbed him of everything and then dumped the body in a bog to hid the evidence. It must have been sometimes ago as even some of the bone were decayed.

Anyways Ed was thankful for the skeleton so he gave him a proper burial and made a prayer before leaving the place.

Unknown to him the engraving on the pouch was glowing lightly for a second and then turned off.

Ed made sure he collected every herb he found and collected some animals whose meat was palatable and stored them in his new pouch he was very fond of and went back to his tree house for a quick bath.

It was getting very late so Ed hurriedly emptied out his tree house into the pouch and went home.

As he had already killed the beast king and obtained the necessary experience he decided to spend the rest of his days before the selection with his mother and friends.
