Sarutobi Hiruzen was a good Hokage. He may not have the charisma of the 1st Hokage, or the gift over water of the 2nd Hokage; but he had had his own gifts. He was a man with a powerful memorization ability. He managed to learn every single justu in Konoha alone, or at least 99% of them. A few of these justu's after one look he honestly wouldn't even try touching.
The memorization ability was also a god sent gift for his position Hokage. Still all good things have a bad side to them, and being forced to remember those lost wore him down thin. On top of that his position made him hardly able to see his own grandsons except for when they bust into his office unannounced. Seeing them come in and talk to him had been some of his best memories in recent years and the position was just getting plain old. He really needed a successor, one he could truly trust. However after the horrible existence of paperwork was disclosed to him he grew so frustrated with his job he considered just giving the job to Danzo to avoid it. Maybe he realized that to. That's why he kept getting these ridiculous pieces of paper with abstract things written on them. They were paper not laws they couldn't even be considered as such. One example was a paper wanting civilians to have a say in war matters. What would them peace loving idiots have to say on war. Forfeit it?
Thinking about Danzo's newest experiments he couldn't help but sigh. Why was every person he ever met that had an equal standing to him in Konoha evil. His advisers were either extremely selfish only wanting power for themselves. They all also wanted to find ways to enhance a person's power past what should be good to even try for without turning into some sort of hybrid creature. Danzo was especially fond of the latter. Which brought him back to the point of Danzo's newest experiments.
Looking at the photo's of humans with fox like traits created from the residue of the Kyubbi's chakra he couldn't help but sigh. Some powers were not meant to be held by people. Then looking at the picture of a boy with a claw he saw something... Interesting. The boy had the power of the tailed beast cloak. Did that mean their was something like 3 Nine tails now. One in Naruto, one connected to the soul of his lost successor, and a third in this boy. Or was his successor's part brought back to the mortal plane in this boy's body by the shinigami. He supposed he would find out the day he died.
Stopping dead in his tracks dread filled him. Intuition told him the boy could be dangerous to the continuation of his village. However he couldn't touch him for now. He was kept by a certain group of monks that would be nothing but a political problem to try and bypass, or play off the boy's death. "You touch one finger on my villager, Kyubbi vessel with either of your bodies, and I'll make you pay."
It was at this moment a knock came from his door. Walking into his room was his grandson. However looking closely at his posture and actions he seemed different. Casting a silent and one handed bloodline detection justu he confirmed it was his grandson. What had happened to the boy, the words went through his mind in confusion. The only possible idea he had was some type of mind control justu was cast on him, but Yamanaka's stationed around the place had placed passive fuinjustu's into place that allowed only rightly in there mind registered citizens, diplomats, or shinobi into the building.
"Jiji, I want to ask you something." My voice wavered slightly from fear the man seemed to instill into my newer body. My new self who unfortunately couldn't read the status of the man before me to calm my fears.
"I want to know. Why people keep calling me a demon." I didn't mind asking, was a 10 year old supposed to know how to ask indirectly.
The Hokage chilled at the question. Obviously he knew the answer but, it appeared he knew he couldn't share the answer to that question yet.
"Naruto I don't know much except that maybe you prank them to much and it causes them to not like you as much." The smaller words and weird wording pointed to the man obviously talking to a kid who he needed to try and get it's mind off of the question.
"I see so I need to stop pranking as much," I question in fake hope. Frankly I felt wonderful at the moment. This was one less thing I needed to keep doing to keep from making oddities consequently from my existence coming into this world.
"That's right," the man flinched in pain at having to watch a child grow more mature than it should need to.
"Okay then." I smile in response as any good child would. "I'll work hard and not prank as much so one day people will respect me more."
Thanks to the conversation I had one of two possibilities for my situation. either my Jinchuriki perk which I had no knowledge of was the reason I was called a demon, which was unlikely from what I knew, or that my bloodlines seemed to be a terrible thing in this village. That's likely why the Hokage had chosen to keep me around, it's why it was also kept hidden. To keep me from making any stupid decisions with the information. Knowing what my new self did I wouldn't doubt that I would have screamed out the information to the world.
Getting back to my talk I seemed hesitant before bringing something up. "Jiji, could you help me get a book from the library so I can be a cool shinobi to. That way I can be Hokage to that way everyone will have to acknowledge me."
"Oh you want a book from the library, why won't you go get one yourself. Now one's stopping you right?" Hearing the innocents in the voice I kinda felt bad for what would happen next. "No Jiji, this mean old Hag keeps kicking me out every time I try to go in there. I hadn't even pranked her before either."
obviously the old man was not amused. With a flick of his hand a shinobi appeared with what my memories told me were Rank E Justus. There was also a couple of books of miscellaneous things I might need for my studies to the side of school. "Don't worry tomorrow go to the library and get any more books you might need. After all a Hokage needs to be smart right." Smiling like I should I nodded my head in fervent understanding. "I'll be a smartest, strongest, Hokage."
Is there anything else you would like to learn the man asked as he looked out his window taking a puff of his pipe. No. The books will be enough for now, I got to learn these justu's I have. Promise after I do you'll teach me a strong justu. Smiling he shook his head in exasperation. "Sure, sure, if you really can learn even 5 of them E ranked justu's within a week I'll teach you a D rank justu you don't know.
"Quest established"
Justu's Horder Pt.1
Objective: Learn 5 Justu's out of the 22 Justu's given to the host within a week and level them to at least level 5.
Side Objective: Learn 9 Justu's out of the 22 Justu's up to level 5 within the week.
Hidden Objective:???
Reward: Objective: The Hokage will teach you a D-rank Justu, Side Objective: he will get another shinobi to teach you another D-rank Justu, Hidden Objective: He will instead teach you a C-rank Justu and get another shinobi to teach you two D-rank Justu."
Nodding in appreciation at the rewards I obviously accepted the quest.
Looking at the old man I just talked with him a bit for the next while slightly hinting at how most teachers ignore me in school when I ask about problems I face. Leaving the Office I was about to walk out the door when a question got my curiosity. I wondered if chakra had a technique like mana had one to copy a person's body as a clone with their mind.
"Hey Jiji. Is there another technique to clone people that allows the clone to think." Shaking his head in denial the man wouldn't give up the secret. Sadly there hasn't been one yet. "Really that's to bad I couldn't help but voice out." "Is that so, why?" The man couldn't resist his urge to ask. "Well I was thinking you could leave your office if you put a few clones in charge of the paperwork." "The reminiscence showed he had already tried doing that."
"If there was a clone technique that could share memory I'm afraid the strain on the mind would be to immense for it to be used no longer than 30 minutes a day on paperwork." Maybe that's why I could use my own technique in my world I decided. It was my insane Intelligence stat that allowed it." "I see," I nodded in understanding. To the adults it looked like I was trying to put on a show, showing that I had "Understood" what they were talking about.
"Goodbye Jiji," I yelled leaving the room. "I'll be sure to find the cure to Paperwork for you." That single statement got a god bless you on your grand mission from everyone in the room. After I had left the old man looked at a couple of his Anbu. Talking to himself to blow off some steam he couldn't help but let out some sad facts about what his position entails as the leader of a shinobi village.
"It seems the first part of the plan succeeded huh. Now that the Jinchuriki is willing to slightly rely on me I can ask him to do certain things which will grow in difficulty with time. He'll feel obligated to do them to." Still for now he's a kid, I don't mind planning and scheming, but he should still have a little bit longer of a childhood to live with considering what he's already had to deal with. I'm not a complete monster. I just care about the village more in this situation." Trying to convince himself that he wasn't evil time went on.
Getting back home I decided to try and remember the lessons and things I did to unlock my mana. After a quick try of about 45 minutes I finally succeeded in bringing back my ability to control mana.
"*Mana Skills- Lv.1/00- Number of categories of mana based skills.
-Basic Mana Skills- Lv.1/00- Number of basic Mana Skills.
#Mana Strings- Lv.1/10- Each level of this skill reduces the cost of the skill. Costs 10 mana per foot of string. String can be 0.001 Millimeters radius in width to 0.5 centimeters radius in width.
#Observe-Lv.3/10- Each level gives 10% chance to observe the target. If the target if over 10 levels per skill level above the host then the target is observable."
I had also leveled up my observe on my way here as I dodged and ran from them two men.
Well that was a waste of time trying to level up I decided considering my life was on the line, and there was so few levels on this skill period. I should have done another exercise or something else on the way here like trying to further empower the skills I gained on the way here. Still I could forgive myself a little considering I knew so few things in this world and any leveling of that skill could end up saving my life. I wouldn't want to touch something poisonous and suddenly die with no idea how.
On the idea of poisonous things, maybe I should get a poison resistance skill. Well if I started working on that skill I should also work on other resistant skills. Putting that to the side I got training my stats. I knew it would be easier at this lower level. And seeing as I had no say on were the points were distributed I knew I needed to take and use this time carefully.
