Lake town

Chapter 1: Lake town

The world is a big place, vast and ever-expanding without end. Lake town is just a small place in the Cosmos, even in the country of Zin it can be counted as small and insignificant, nobody could have guessed that this place would give birth to a boy with a great destiny.

By the shores of Lake town was a small child. His face was thin, his ears protruded making him look silly. He was often teased of the fact, some of the bigger children would often hit him. Nobody ever stood up for him, and he had no dark nature to take revenge. Every time he was hurt he wouldn't give them the satisfaction of seeing his pain. Instead, he would come here to the lake and cry, making his deep blue eyes resemble oceans trying to secrete into the world.

Every day he would mutter to himself, a single mantra. This mantra would keep him moving forward. Keep this small orphan boy living. "Not long left. Only a few more days."

This was his mantra. A few more days. Until what? Well, of course, that's simple. Until something changed. Lake town was never interesting, even in the world of mortals it was worthless. Only a few families fighting amongst themselves for control of a resource-less town, the population of which was less than five hundred.

Currently, there were three families the Xu, Heng, and Nie. Each of which had a face value of null, but not all things meet the eye are true. Recently there have been whispers afoot. Interesting ones indeed. It appears the Xu family have traded all there wealth for an immortal technique! A cultivation method!

This has caused invisible ripples throughout the town, forcing the Heng and Nie families to acquire their own cultivation methods, even sending some of their own children to local sects so that they may protect their families!

Although this wasn't the sort of change the boy hoped for, it sure made things interesting. Who hasn't heard tales of the outside world, the heroes and the deadly plots that caused the rise and fall of great dynasties?

The waves were already in motion. This afternoon, in fact, he had heard whispers of two old men by the lake shore. They had the strangest conversation, talking about bloodlines, and how the lake had a strange effect on some people. They said that it's an opportunity that their, "Dark Water Sect," must seize!

But slowly, these thoughts faded away. The excitement he's experiencing making him increasingly tired, his eyes started to flutter until finally, they shut close.
