Chapter 3: A talented little fellow

"He's doing well, many thanks, Senior. I would ask Senior to asses this boy."

The translucent figure turned around, looking at the boy with reddened and teary eyes tutting to himself. In such a state, yet so little had been done. Although he had seen less turn into immortals.

Slowly the Spirit closed his eyes and inspected the child. First, he entered through his meridians.

"Interesting indeed. Out of the Nine Vital meridians, you have four open, but each of them is twice as wide than whatever I've seen on a human. Interesting indeed."

The ghostly figure rubbed his chin and went deeper.

This time he investigated his bloodline. It was extremely fickle and impure, but it seemed to radiate a good amount of pressure. "An ice bloodline. Strange, often those who hold ice bloodlines are extremely beautiful."

Wang Zhu's heart sank when he heard this, now he'd been mocked by a spirit of all things. He changed his mind, he's definitely washing his hands till bloody after this.

"Wait, I have an Ice bloodline?!"

"Wait, this pervert has an Ice bloodline?!"

Both Wang Zhu and Yin You said in unison, obviously surprised by the fact. Ice bloodlines are often powerful and violent things, that belong beautiful yet deadly beings, neither Wang Zhu possessed.

"Silence!" The Spirit roared, causing the duo to shake in their boots, and a smile to appear on the old man's face.

The ghostly figure then peered into Wang Zhu's soul itself, causing a gleam to appear in its eyes.

"Your soul force is average, but..." The Spirit paused a moment, confused.

"It has the laws of foresight within." Very rare, and powerful. If harnessed correctly of course. Otherwise, it's wasted.

The Spirit then turned to Miss Xuan. "He's a talented little fellow, but only 4 of his meridians are open, meaning that he'll encounter tribulations from the fifth major realm and above. He has an ice bloodline, which if purified will make him extremely strong, and the foresight is powerful, but there aren't many who practice divination in the Water Heaven Empire, let alone the Sacred Beast Continent. Overall I predict the boy will rapidly charge through the Qi Condensing, Body Refining, Essence Gathering, Essence Core and Core Formation realms without trouble, but due to his bloodline and the nature of his meridian channels, he will encounter an unholy amount of tribulation every time he conquers a new realm after that. I predict he will shake several countries as an unrivaled genius but will get cocky and eventually succumb to the heavens tribulation, unprepared."

The Spirit shook his head. Looking the boy in the eye and laughed, "You may have divination talents, but I'm incredible at deduction and odds."

It then sighed, "I hope I'm wrong. Heed my advice, don't be cocky kid!"

The Spirit then turned giving a deep bow to the Young Lady Xuan and disappeared with a flash into the stone.

"Interesting... interesting. Elder Shi, do you believe that this young man is worth your time?" Miss Xuan turned to Elder Shi, asking for his appraisal.

Elder Shi was stunned by the suggestion, after the evaluation by the Spirit - 'An unrivaled genius.' Naturally, he assumed the great Black Tortoise Palace, ruling organization of the Water Heaven Empire would want him. He himself was only at the Core Formation Realm, and was the third strongest in his sect, how couldn't he want to steal this child?

A child who could do in a dozen years what cultivators do in hundreds?

It had to be a dream come true! At the moment the Dark Water Sect, although a subordinate of the Dark Tortoise Palace didn't have their full protection! This was because that the Dark Water Sect didn't reside in the Water Heaven Empire's territory, instead, it resided in a place called the Wildlands!

The Wildlands were as the name described, a lawless area, without a central governing body. Instead different sects fought for its control, in the name of the four great Sacred Beast Palaces; The Black Tortoise, Vermilion Bird, White Tiger and strongest of all Azure Dragon Palace.

It was unknown why these forces never fully invaded the Wildlands, most said that it's because the Sacred Beast Continent is such a big place. It would take years for a mortal to travel from the north to south of the continent!

Eventually, Elder Shi realized Miss Xuan's plan. Putting someone with this much talent in their sect could potentially slingshot them into becoming one of the dominant forces in the area!

Elder Shi quickly took a bow, "Thank you Little Miss Xuan! We won't forget this!"

Miss Xuan simply waved her hand. With it appeared a scroll and a small jar.

Passing these to Elder Shi, she giggled, "Dark Water Sect is one of our forces in the Wildlands. We'll you as many advantages as possible. This is the Ice Prince's formula, it should not only help him cultivate, but there are details on strengthening... his bloodline."

Miss Xuan turned on her heel, staring at the boy who was in a daze. "Your name?"

In reply, Wang Zhu just continued to stare in a daze. Miss Xuan clicked her fingers, raising her voice.

"Name!"

"Wu Zu! No. No! Wang Zhu! My name is Wang Zhu big sis Xuan!"

"Hahaha. Wang Zhu. A name appropriate for your talent."
