The Time Investigators and Suspicions part VII

Since Grimold Demons deals with any kinds of trouble with great efficiency, everyone silently acknowledges its existence, while some wanted to put their hands into it, but for some reasons were either blocked or backfired.

Anyway, it was the go-to if you want your dirty business done. But one should take note that efficiency comes with a price. As it goes, the better the payment, the better the services, like any other business. But instead of money they deal with cultivation resources, treasures or the monetary spirit stones and origin or primeval stones.

And, in one of the secluded rooms used for business transactions and background informations, a dwarf with curly hair and beard was fiercely arguing and negotiating in a semi-loud voice.

This dwarf with curly hair and beard is the Leader of the five member group of Demonic cultivators that had taken the job to kidnapped and torture Aya Di, and he's raising the price of payment after finding out the details the client wants to do.

"What we want are benefits. We won't do any job that doesn't make profits." The dwarf said in a determined tone; it is a characteristic of demonic dwarf that distinguish them from other races of dwarves.

"If you want to proceed with the business transaction, then, pay us triple the amount primeval stones with the appropriate antidote. That would be three hundred million one star origin stone plus the Heaven Grade Prism Pill for each member of my group. And since you request that someone participate and command us at the same time, then you have to add thirty million one star spirit stone for the additional labor fee."

He wasn't joking. The target was indeed easy and the pay would fetch them a fortune, if the client didn't add another condition in the middle of their operation. If he didn't increase the price now, wouldn't they be incurring losses at their end?

Of course, as the head of group he can't allow that or they would not just be incurring losses, but they would also be the laughing stock of all the Demonic cultivators. How would they get jobs in the future then?

Just dealing with Highest Peak Level Earth Rank Poison Pledge Insect would be extremely difficult and needs tons of resources! The pay isn't as promising as it initially was. Besides if he milk them for more then, why not?

Business is business even for cultivators. There's no exceptions to that rule. Of course, strength and wit are also important, but cultivators essentially won't do this kinds of business transaction without the appropriate strength and intelligence needed. Strength and wit are their capital and assurance in this dog-eat-dog world. As the saying goes, survival of the fittest.

When the dwarf seems to be changing his mind on this mission, the lady wearing peach magical robe with flowery sequins and an elegant face mask that fitly covers three-fourths of her face gently sighed before compromising to the dwarf using a neutral voice.

"Alright Sir Sif. I'll agree on behalf of my junior sister. I'm not sure why she thought highly of a mere mortal either. But we'll only decrease it to Low Level Earth Rank, no less. I don't want any unnecessary trouble. We'll provide the antidote once the deed is done but make sure no one finds out about us. Or else…" The lady in peach said firmly with her killing intent seeping through her body.

Seeing that this is indeed the best deal he could get, the dwarf agreed. He summoned the other four members of his group, while another lady clad in pink magical robe with flowery sequins similar to the lady in peach came in wearing an identical mask.

After that, they proceeded by pricking the floating Poison Pledge Insect on its belly extracting a blue mini-core and pricking themselves with its venom while reciting their oath.

When this is done, the agreement will be fulfilled, and to ensure that their identity wouldn't leak out after taking the antidote once the deed was done, they emphasized on erasing the memories what happened to all the beings involved with the transaction within their agreement.

Afterwards, they would separate ways without any recollection nor memories that they had a deal, making it impossible for others to trace it back to them.

Or so, they wish…

Because in this world there is really nothing impossible. It is just a matter of whether they have the knowledge or the means, so one can only prepare or look for ways to make things happen.

But is it really that easy to make things happen the way you want it to be, when there's a lot of unknowns out there?

They might have prepared for every means of tracking they can think of, but they never even counted the existence of Time Investigators, nor did they expected a massive investigation to happen just because of a mortal member of a cultivator-dominated ancient clan.

And in the Di Family as of this moment, they are witnessing the deal like they were there themselves. They were shocked to see who were involved.
