The End of Forever

Those words of mine did nothing but add oil to the fire. The rage of fire he suppressed within him burst forth.

"DON'T ACT INNOCENT WOMAN. I KNOW WHAT YOU DID", he roared right at me before throwing a stack of papers at me and leaving me to cry on the steps.

From his actions, I knew whatever happened wasn't something that could be solved. But a truth to be accepted. The thing was he wouldn't even tell me why he wanted a divorce. There was no way for me to fix a problem I didn't know about.

Lifting the paper up and reading the title on the papers was enough for me to feel my world crumbling away around me once more.

'Legal Separation of Marriage'

What broke what was left of my heart was that his section was already signed and it dated back 3 days ago. I clumsy made my way down the stairs to flat ground, chasing him to the living room where he was angrily smashing everything he saw.

I grabbed his arms midway his swing to punch the wall, but he threw me off him onto the ground, glaring at me as if I killed his family. Under his watchful eyes, I signed the papers without knowing why I was signing it.

I tried begging for him to let me explain but he wouldn't listen. He pushed me out of his house screaming at me that he never wanted to see me again.

Walking away from the place I called home for 2 years, I tried stopping my tears from falling. It didn't work. My body shook from my powerful sobs and vision blurred from the tears. My weak body caught up with all the stress and collapsed on the side of the road.

But at that moment I knew for certain that I wasn't coming back to explain. Sometimes when the person you love hurts you the most, it's better to stay quiet. My love for him wasn't a reason enough for us to stay together. What made me think that words were?

My forever with him had ended.
