You're Not Worth the Pain

"I'm dreaming right now aren't I?" she whispered to herself.

When Ying Yue realised she wasn't dreaming, she quickly pushed Feng Yu back. Caught by surprise Feng Yu stumbled back a few steps.

"Yue'er I know I hurt you but -" he started to explain when he saw the pure rage on her face but she cut him off.

"Hurt. So you know I'm hurting too. Don't act as if you care. Because if you did, you wouldn't have done what you did" she sneered at him in anger.

"I know why you're mad at me right now. But let me explain why I'm -"

Once again Ying Yue cut him off. "I am beyond mad right now. I'm beyond angry. I'm beyond furious. I'm full of rage" she shouted at him, her tears not stopping at the least.

Feng Yu walked closer and touched her cheeks but she slapped his hand away.

"No! Don't Touch Me!"

"Ying Yue! Please, listen to me" he pleaded as he tried to move closer.

"No, don't come closer, stay back"

Feng Yu obeyed. Ying Yue couldn't take it anymore. Just like that she squatted in place and cried endlessly. Gasping for breath, her heart throbbed painfully within.

Feng Yu wanted to get close but knew she would only get mad if he moved closer, so he stayed in place, helplessly watching as she cried.

Gradually her tears stopped and she stood up once more. But this time she didn't look at him. Turning around and looking at the mirror, she was glad that she hadn't done her makeup for a second time yet because even without the mascara running down her face, she still looked worse than before.

"Ying-"

"Shut up"

Ying Yue ignored the man behind her as she did her makeup once more. She didn't feel like the being the pretty fairy that she was before the party, so along with the silvery blue around her winged eyeliner, there were silvery blue water drops going down her face. Not a lot but enough to elegant and sad at the same time.

When she turned around Feng Yu was still there. Upon seeing her choice of makeup, Feng Yu wanted to speak up but before he could, Ying Yue did.

"Feng Yu, you divorced me 5 years ago. I'm cutting you off because you gave me the scissors." Ying Yue stared into his eyes and gathered as much courage as she could. "Feng Yu, I have long moved on, it's time you do too".

Ying Yue said her piece and walked past him but before she could get far he grabbed her hand.

"Ying Yue, don't lie to me. If you stopped loving me you wouldn't have cried", Feng Yu said angrily but beneath it all he was uneasy. Has she really moved on? That would be fair after all he had put her through.

"Moving on doesn't mean I've stopped loving you. And I clearly haven't forgotten you. Feng Yu, I still love you"

"Then why-"

"But you're not worth this pain". Ying Yue turned around at stared right him as she said that.

Turning around once more Ying Yue walked to the door. It was only now that she realised that no one came in because her pot plant was moved in front of the door, preventing it from being pushed open from the other side.
