It's Your Fault, I Hate You

Finally, Feng Mian was out of breath. She sat on the floor beside Feng Yu's body gasping for air as her chest moved up and down with each breath, blood trickling down her hand to the floor.

"That didn't even pay for the miseries that you caused her, you bastard" Feng Mian looked so ferocious.

Feng Yu just slowly sat up and wiped his bloody lips with the sleeve of his suit.

Having calmed downed somewhat, Feng Mian began speaking, "One day, she came to my doorstep with a single bag with her. Her eyes had lost its usual shine. I was surprised to see her there but despite my questions, she never answered. Suddenly, she burst in tears and cried in on my shoulder. I had to drag her inside because she couldn't walk anymore. She ate less and less every day. And she never went out of my house. She always slept and sometimes sat blankly on the balcony. She rarely talked. It took we a week to-"

"To what?" Feng Yu whispered out, voice cracking as he listened to Feng Mian recount what happened to Ying Yue.

"Nothing, it's not my place to tell," Feng Mian shook her head tiredly, her strength had left her after beating him up, "Every morning she was unwell, I had to drag her to the doctors because I was worried about her being sick and all. She refused to be checked until I cried in front of her to persuade her".

A moment of silence as Feng Mian paused in her recount, cutting out pieces that weren't her place to tell. Feng Yu wished that she would tell him everything, but there was nothing he could do because he knew that he had no right to know.

"A week after her checkup, she packed her bags and left with another friend. We skyped every day once she left China. Feng Yu, I hate you," Feng Mian turned to look at Feng Yu and Feng Yu was startled when he saw tears in the fiery lady's eyes who had just been the epitome of a strong independent woman just moments ago.

"Ying Yue is my best friend. I haven't seen her in person for 5 years. And the since she has arrived back in China, I've seen her tears more than her smiles. It's your fault. I hate you" Feng Mian sniffled to hold back her tears as she turned her head to look at the sky.

"You have no idea what kind of misery you put her through. Don't tell me you know her miseries. You're just a selfish bastard" Feng Mian said out of spite.

"It was all my fault," Feng Yu said.

"Even if it wasn't, I would place the blame on you" Feng Mian muttered but Feng Yu ignored her to continue speaking.

"I don't want to make a repeat of my mistake. I don't intend to hurt her again. I want her back. I promise you that"

"Do you hear yourself? You cause her so much misery in life and you want to add more to it again. Besides, what use is it promising me that? I'm not the one you hurt"

"Please. Let me do this. I'm not asking for forgiveness from you because I know it will never happen. All I want is another chance to make thing right with her, for her. I love her. She is my life. For the past years, all I could think about was her. I love Ying Yue. I love her with everything left in me"

Feng Mian stood up while Feng Yu remained sitting on the ground.

"Tell that to her," Feng Mian brushed the imaginary dust off her clothes before turning to look that at Feng Yu. "One chance, you have one chance for Ying Yue to accept you in her life again. If she's unwilling, I guarantee that every time I see you within 5 feet of her I will throw a shoe of some sort at your head and hope you die from a loss of brain cells"

Feng Mian started walking away but turned back to Feng Yu with a scowl on his face. "Hurt her once more and I'll put a bullet in your skull".

Feng Yu laid sprawled on the ground, looking at the clear sky before letting out a defeated sigh. One chance.
