It Was You

But the man just looked at him in disgust, "I can't believe that you're my love rival. You're not even worthy. Have you got no eyes?"

"You!" Feng Yu growled angrily.

"What you? I'm clearly still in my work uniform, can't you see who I am?" the man gestured to his clothes, "I'm the head security guard of Mian Enterprise. The camera has captured you in the act of breaking our company's windows. This is criminal damage to property.

The man moved forwards towards Feng Yu with his arms raised in position as if he was to tackle Feng Yu down if he was to run, "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to speak to an attorney, and to have an attorney present during any questioning.

But Feng Yu just side stepped him and sneered, "You think I'm the idiot? What kind of security guard wears high top sneakers?"

The man disregarded Feng Yu's disrespect and retorted "Obviously the kind that's broke and works part-time for extra cash".

Feng Yu was so angry his veins could be seen. Ying Yue interveined before things could get out of hand. "Alright, that's enough boys. I'll pay for the damages ok? So both of you take a chill pill," Ying Yue sighed exhaustedly from today's events.

"Ying Yue-" Feng Yu started but Ying Yue raised her hand and told him 'sorry, I don't know you'. And from that moment on, he knew their lives were starting again as strangers.

He wanted to tell her that he would miss her, but he knew it wouldn't change a thing so he kept silent. Feng Yu nodded his head both in acceptance and in farewell before turning around to drive back to his company and start planning on how to get her back. This encounter with the sketchy security guard made him realise that he was no longer the only man in her life.

Ying Yue watched Feng Yu leave without once turning back and despite knowing it was what she asked for...it was still heartbreaking when she saw how he could walk away as if she was never a big part of his life.

Ying Yue's gaze continued to linger in the direction Feng Yu left in. Her eyes distant and her thoughts far away.

"Are you sure you don't want him back?"

Ying Yue was startled out of her daze by the question from the man still standing beside her.

"...I'm never sure of anything. Especially when it's about him. I used to find that quite exciting, exploring the unknown together one step at a time, but now it's just ... torture. So many what ifs"

"Hey, Liam Chi ..."

"What is it?"

"Have you ever fallen in love? Truly fallen? One that requires another to help you up from?" Ying Yue asked dejectedly from beside him, looking up at the sky.
