A rainbow could be seen through the clouds of the dark day. Iris Firestone who was undoubtedly female, not a great cook thus lived up to her name: Firestone, was walking on the edge of the footpath occasionally sweeping her foot into the puddle on the road. "What the hell man!!" A speeding driver crashed straight into the puddle. Causing a wave of water as high as her, splashing all over her clothes. Standing quite flustered she reached for her phone to check it was still working, the familiar loading screen popped up. "Phew" wiping her muddy brow. Unable to do anything Iris trudged back home welcoming the thought of a long needed bath.
"IRIS! Just what happened?" Her Mum inquired as she took in the site of her daughter drenched in mud. "road splash" Iris grumbled as she ran to the bathroom to get cleaned up. Iris reached for her towel even though she was still in the bath to dry her hands and reach for the phone: "an email?" Scrolling through the new notifications on her Xphone 2.
—I thought that this ol' thing was too old to get messages these days—
Clicking on the email another notification popped:
'Your phone wishes to download new software ( this will not need a restart). Would you like to proceed?.
"Hell yeah, about time!".
Clicking yes she continued to read the mysterious email:
To: Firefoxgirl7@worldmail.com
From: unidentified
Dear Iris,
You have been selected to participate in an online game I am launching! Please click yes to update your software!.
"Oh dang" she had just downloaded software from an unidentified source and didn't even know, Iris deleted the email and went to the home screen to see if there were any changes
—nothing so far..— she swiped across all her apps, opening the important ones "well... every thing's working?" One app stood out on the last line:
—it downloaded an app?—
She thought as she instinctively taped the screen opening the new app with no name: the black loading screen faded out to a picture of a forest with the words:
'Parallel Dream'.
