Tears of Joy

Seeing Luna's fist headed his direction, the Half-Gorilla General thought that this human had to be crazy. Fighting him with raw strength? "Human, if you have a death wish, you should have just said so," he thought to himself.

BOOM!

The impact of their fists colliding kicked up a cloud of dust, as a sorry figure was seen being shot out of it.

"Formidable," Luna couldn't help but be surprised. Even he hadn't expected it to be that strong. It should be known that the current body refining technique being applied to him, wasn't really a "technique," although it functioned like one. It was one of the most defining characteristics of a True Dragon, and that was the constant strengthening of the body as a whole, even down to its organs. Something that any dragons lesser than it would not possess unless they specialized in defense. Even then, it still wouldn't be able to compare.

When Luna gained levels, it was akin to a container growing in size. The stronger he was, the more of this strengthening he received. Sending his opponent, who was extremely confident in his physical strength, and rightfully so, was proof of this.

"You...! There's no way a human can be so ridiculously strong!" Fear was evident in the General's eyes as he looked towards Luna, dumbfounded. Although, as he looked towards Vizicsacsi, his eyes only showed resentment. "This damned Vizicsacsi!" He thought to himself.

But how could Vizicsacsi possibly know how formidable the Luna and Sura duo were? Elder Aran and Maxene haven't even made their move yet. Although, he did have somewhat of an idea which was why he called for every General in the surrounding areas to assist him. If they couldn't come here and get rid of this threat now, he knew that Luna would just hunt them down one-by-one. They had truly drawn the short stick by spawning in the 's territory.

"Oh my! This is delicious! Even better than the ones before! What is this called again?" Ines asked.

"That is called 'Chicken Inasal'.* It's one of Bacolod City's specialties. Before the New World, some people and even celebrities would fly to this City just to eat it." Josh honestly answered. "This girl," he thought to himself. "Everything she has tasted so far seems to be the best thing she's had in her life. She looks like somebody important, so she couldn't have been lacking in good food, right?"

Ines had actually cried tears of pure joy this whole time, but she would always look away and eliminate them secretly. Whether it was due to her being shy, or just her pride which naturally refused to show any form of weakness, only she would know.

"Brother Josh, is there any place where I could have a bit of privacy for a while? I would like some time to think." Ines suddenly asked.

"Oh, uhm, the only place I know would be a bathroom, or if not, you could... come over to my place," Josh suggested. A young boy asking a girl he liked to come over to his house, was, after all, a bold move for a youngster.

Ines, however, thought nothing more of it. "Then I'll have to trouble you," she said as she bowed slightly. If the Nobles of the Void saw one of the Princesses bow to a commoner, it would have been the gossip of the year. Ines, however, was aware that this was a common gesture to show appreciation. She would not dare to put on airs here that would make her stand out more than her devastatingly good looks already has.

Riding a flying mutant beast which was one of the 's current fastest and cheapest way of traveling, they arrived back in Iloilo City in less than five minutes. When they arrived at Josh's place, Ines noticed there was no one else there.

Josh's parents were currently fighting in the war.

"Ines, you can use my room for now. I'm going to finish up on some things, so just call for me if you need me or when you're hungry."

"Mn. Thank you. I'm sorry for intruding on your home." Ines replied. She was highly appreciative of this young man's hospitality. It was something she noticed with almost everybody she had met thus far. The people were truly hospitable.

"No, no, you're not intruding at all. This is just basic hospitality that we show guests. Not a big deal, not a big deal at all!" He quickly replied as he gestured for Ines to not worry at all.

Being left alone, Ines silently allowed her tears to fall.

"I didn't know that food could taste so good," she thought to herself. Within the Void, such tasty delicacies did not exist. The meat was not edible at all. The only they gained the nutrients needed to survive by absorbing the energy within the world.

The Peasant-class citizens would resort to cannibalism whenever one of them died, or devouring the regular zombies from time to time in order to sate their hunger.

For Ines and everybody in the Soldier-class or higher, this was akin to eating only Tofu their whole life. Even though she read about actual food, there was no basis for her to actually imagine how it tasted. The armies they sent over to invade the other worlds had no way of getting back before the world was destroyed, killing the Void armies within it, thus, they had no way of bringing back any of the delicacies they enjoyed in their time there.

"If this is how I'm feeling, being in this world for such a short time, what other wonders does this world have? Now I can kind of understand why Father is so adamant about conquering Earth. Everything here is better. What Father wants is obviously something on a much grander scale, but I can see why the people of Earth would fight to the death for their homeland. I must find a way. If I can get along with Josh, then there must be another way for our people to do so as well, right?" Experiencing just the tip of the iceberg of what Earth had to offer was enough for Ines to resolve herself to what she must do. "I need to get back to General Vizicsacsi and have him put a stop to the fighting before it's too late." After taking her time to recollect her thoughts and having the emotional release she needed, she knew what she had to do next.

She looked around for Josh for a while to say goodbye, but after not being able to find him, she decided to leave him a note expressing her gratitude and apologizing for not being able to say goodbye in person. She didn't know why, but she had a feeling that there was no time to waste.

-----------------------------------------------------

"This man is treating me like I'm some punching bag!" The Half-Gorilla General cried on the inside as he struggled to defend against Luna's test punches. Finding a foe he could test his raw strength out on wasn't easy to find, after all.

"Sigh. Father is just having fun now, poor monkey." Max thought to herself. She actually couldn't stand it anymore and dove towards the Void army, her modified Guandao like a blender.

Elder Aran stood where he was before, keeping an eye out for the young lady like she was his own granddaughter. Although, he knew that he had absolutely nothing to worry about. He wasn't even sure if the Soldier-class beings were strong enough to scratch Maxene.

Vizicsacsi who was finally conscious saw the corpses of his comrades and nearly fainted again. "It's over. I only pray that Princess Ines does not return here. At least not anytime soon. If anything happens to her," he shuddered at the possibility.
