Death God

Just as all of them were down, she commanded, "Create a vine barrier at your 3 o'clock."

Upon following her, suddenly an invisible force landed on the barrier.

"W-What's going on?" each one of them were baffled except for Eureka.

Her face was so serious, something they've never seen before.

"Once I say go, I want all of you to create a barrier with each of your abilities. After doing so, run as fast as you can towards the city walls."

"Whoever is attacking us wouldn't be able to enter. Remember never turn back, even if someone calls for you or someone didn't answer when you call, don't turn back," she immediately commanded as the vine barrier was destroyed.

"GO!!" just as she signaled five different abilities were shot to one direction.

And just as she told them, all five of them did run as fast as they can inside the walls.

"*huff* *huff* We did it, captain," when they turned around, she was not there.

"We left her behind," one of them exclaimed, but just as he wanted to run back someone stopped him.

"Remember we can't turn back, that's her command. Let's go, we are lucky the closest here is the house of the head knight. We have to call them in this instant."

All of them nodded, what he said is true, basing on how those who are attacking them attacked it means they are the same as them at the peak of their abilities.

Seeing how they easily destroyed that barrier of vines, it means that their abilities are of the stronger side. If they do wanted to help their captain they can only run as fast to get help.

They did their best to arrive at the head knight's house and knocked furiously on their doors.

"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!!"

When the door opened, it was actually the head knight who opened it. Seeing his attire he must have just returned.

"What are you guys doing here?" he asked upon seeing the look on their faces.

"Sir head knight, please help us. We have encountered some of those who are kidnapping the other knights and it was our captain who allowed as to escape."

"But by the time we realized it, she was not behind us. She must have stayed behind," hearing this Yukimura's face changed and stepped out of the house.

"I'm coming with you father," just as he did, Raven who was also inside and heard what happened volunteered.

Yukimura nodded and motioned for the other five to lead the way. Their group went to where Eureka's team were investigating at their top speed. Reaching it, they were welcomed by the thick smell of blood.

"This is..." Yukimura didn't finish what he was saying.

Upon arriving, they saw Eureka standing there. Her clothes and armor are drenched with blood. Blood dripping on both her swords.

She stood there like the death god himself. Her hair that looks like it turned white due to the light of the moon, flattered with the wind.

"Who sent you?" just as they stood there dumbfounded.

She asked the only one remaining alive among the forty people who attacked her and for some odd reason the whole place was too cold just as cold as her voice, this sent shivers down the backs of those who are witnessing this right now.

Fear was visible in the man's eyes but upon opening his mouth, his whole body exploded. Blood showered around them, some were even sent to where the others stood but they didn't care. They could only look at Eureka.

She then turned to look at them. Her eyes which showed no emotions still made her subordinates shiver.

"For you to disturb the head knight," she started as she faced them.

"W- We found out that you weren't behind us when we arrived inside the walls and we know we aren't strong enough so we asked for the head knight's help," one of them answered, this is the first time they really felt fear towards her.

She was strict but not to the point of making others fear her. They respect her even though she was a zero, but this time they felt like they are looking at a different person.

"I must apologize for the head knight, we have disturbed your rest," she then bowed down to Yukimura.

This brought Yukimura back to reality, he furrowed his brows and asked, "Who are they?"

"They are the one's kidnapping our knights this past months, I tried interrogating one of them but as you have witnessed, it seems that their master never allowed traitors in his subordinates," she answered respectfully.

His brows still knitted he commanded, "Follow me to the palace, we have to speak with the king."

He turned to her subordinates, "Continue your duty, this time guard the walls of the palace. You can return to your normal duties tomorrow."

"Yes sir head knight."

After answering they bowed down and took one last glance at their captain before turning away.

"Father," Raven tried to say something but seeing his father's dark face he stopped himself.

He looked at Eureka who's currently behind them as they made their way towards the palace.

Murmurs errupted as they stepped inside the castle. It might be a little late in the night but some servants are still awake especially the guards.

They stared at the three making way to the grand hall, droplets of blood are visible in Yukimura and Raven's appearance but what made everyone shocked the most was Eureka's appearance. She looked like she just came out from a bath full of blood.

Upon entering the grand hall, Akihiro is already standing there waiting for them, a servant had informed him of their appearance and what had happened but seeing is different from hearing.

His face paled upon seeing Eureka. He never expected this appearance at all.

"Your highness," the three of them greeted and bowed down.

"I've brought her here after what happened outside the city walls," Yukimura started as he explained everything that happened.

Akihiro furrowed his brows before asking, "Why did you bring her here first?"

"It was completely suspicious of her finishing off, 40 peak leveled ability users in such a short span of time in half an hour."

"I brought her here thinking that it would be best to interrogate her here rather than letting the captains do the job down in the dungeon," he explained as he look at Eureka with distrust.

No matter how you think about it, the only reason Akihiro could think of for Yukimura to bring her here was because of his distrust to everyone even with the generals and captains of the squad.

After the incident with Leo, Akihiro noticed the changes with Yukimura. This guy started distancing himself from everyone except himself.

Right now he must have brought Eureka in front of him cause he no longer has any trust with the others. But...

"Yukimura," Akihiro started with a very serious voice.

A tone different from his usual towards him, it was the tone of a king to his subordinate who made a mistake.

This voice shocked Yukimura. Even in front of the other generals, Akihiro never used this tone towards him. He looked at Akihiro baffled.

"What happened to you?" Akihiro continued with no emotion visible in his face.

"I must apologize your highness, I don't quite understand what you mean."

"When did you become so unreasonable?"

Confusion became even more visible in Yukimura's face.

"Why don't you look at the knight you brought in front of me?" Akihiro asked, somehow he's starting to get mad at this friend of his.

Who seemed to lost a lot of reasoning.

Yukimura looked at Eureka. She just stood there with her blood drenched clothes. As blood still drip from them.

"Father," this time it was Raven who talked seeing that his father still had no idea on what the king was talking about.

"Why do you think that after so much time have passed coming back here, blood is still dripping from her body?" this is what he wanted to tell him back in the forest, he too are already mad at how distrustful his father had become.

Upon hearing his son's words, he suddenly realized why Akihiro is mad at him.

He indeed was too unreasonable right now. Upon seeing her defeat those enemies in such short span of time, he lost all his reasonings and just wanted for this girl to be interrogated to find out who she truly is.

"Defeating 40 peak ability users so fast is indeed very suspicios. But that doesn't mean that she is not wounded at all," Akihiro said seeing how Yukimura realized his mistake.

Indeed interrogating those people, they didn't care about their wounds and anything, they would even torture them. But this girl is different, those she defeated were enemies and most specially, she is a knight of the kingdom, not some assassin from another.

Yukimura brought her straight to the castle without letting her wounds be treated. This act is way overboard.

"I..." seeing his friend and son's eyes he couldn't come up with an answer.

"Raven, accompany Eureka to the medical wing. It just so happen that Akito is currently on duty in the castle. Let him take care of her wounds. As for you Sir Yukimura, I need to talk to you while waiting for them."
