"You're staring too much," Yukimura nudged Akihiro.
They are currently in the after party of the war, and for the first time since they arrived, Haruka finally appeared. Her long white hair and her white eyes compliments her jade like skin. Coupled with her sky blue gown, she truly is too beautiful.
"Shut up," Akihiro said, taking his eyes off her.
"So? You're not planning on speaking with her?"
"What should I tell her then? There's nothing really that we could talk about," Akihiro said with a sigh.
"Then why don't you ask her why she decided to come with us, your highness?" Eureka butted in from the side.
"You really.." Akihiro wanted to smack her in the head, sometimes she just have no respect for him at all.
Feeling someone staring at her, Eureka looked towards the front. There even without her seeing she could tell that Haruka was staring at her, she bowed down towards her before turning and leaving the area.
"Was she the one you're talking about, Shigure?" Haruka asked Shigure who was beside her.
Shigure might be two years older than Haruka but they still call each other by name.
"She is indeed, quite unattached isn't she?" Shigure replied.
"Yes at the same time no, I guess," Haruka answered.
"Why do you say no?" Shigure asked upon hearing his sister's answer.
"Intuition?"
"*chuckles* So why don't you go and talk to him? You decided to go because of him, right?" Shigure then changed the subject.
"I don't know what to say to him," Haruka answered looking back at Akihiro.
"You were so eager when you heard me say that they really came here for you, then now you're telling me that your shy?"
"This and that are two different things, I was only watching him from a far back then, but now I will be facing him."
Shigure narrowed his eyes.
"What? Is it bad to fall in love at first sight?"
"Even though you know that his part of the reason why you don't have some of your memories?"
"I don't know but I have the feeling that my losing of some memories was for my own good."
"Then you should find out everything in there, rather than me telling what I found out to you."
That's right Shigure didn't tell Haruka about what he had found out, other than the fact that she was there when she disappeared from their home.
"Hmmm, that might indeed be much better."
"Go on and try to speak with them, I shall attend to something else for now," Shigure then pushed her forward.
"Allow me to accompany you to where they are," Gato who was close by and was listening to their conversation offered.
"I'm not going far, so it's alright I can manage," Haruka politely refused.
Gato, on the other hand, could only clench his fists.
"*clears her throat* Can I join, his highness and sir in your conversation?" Haruka asks after approaching Akihiro and Yukimura.
"It would be our honor, your highness," Akihiro replied with the same polite tone as Haruka.
"Then I should apologize, I suddenly thought of something for my son to learn, we shall excuse ourselves. Azusa, you should come with us as well," Yukimura, on the other hand, said respectfully.
He then bowed down and pulled the other two away.
"I must apologize for such action from my headknight," Akihiro could only shake his head, Yukimura is far too obvious.
"Well, do I have to ask questions first? Or do you want to ask first?" Haruka smiled and looked at him.
*****
"Just as I thought, you're here again," Shigure said approaching Eureka.
"This knight greets his highness," Eureka in turn replied respectfully.
"You truly are smart aren't you? Or to be more precise cunning?" Shigure then said.
(Flashback)
"Now that the contract is signed, can I ask questions now?" Shigure asked.
"Go ahead, your highness," Eureka replied.
"How did you know about the necklace?" Shigure went straight to the point.
"That is a question I wish not to answer, your highness," Eureka replied.
Everyone present were dumbfounded.
"Do you still not trust me, despite the contract?" Shigure asked.
"Have you really read the entire contract, your highness?" Eureka replied.
"Of course I did, all the conditions were numbered after all," Shigure replied furrowing his brows.
"Then you really didn't read the whole contract, your highness," Eureka replied as she lean on the chair.
Shigure though confused read the whole contract, this time not missing a sentence. And just like that in the last paragraph, a sentence that made him speechless was written.
~All of the information regarding the knight Eureka could only be answered by her alone, if she wishes not to answer, then she has the right not to.~
(End of Flashback)
"It was obvious that Akihiro and Yukimura didn't know about it. They were apologizing non stop," Shigure shrugged.
"There are a lot of things that is better left for now, your highness," Eureka replied facing back in front.
"Don't you think that, that might cause even more fight?"
"It won't. After all what I'm hiding are something that are still insignificant."
"Still?"
"I am someone who could destroy everything with just an information that I hold, and that is something I never wish to happen. I can only ask his highness to trust me that I will never do something that will harm anyone from your kingdom, but in the end I'm still asking you to place your life on the line," Eureka sighed.
"You know what I think? I think that you can still feel. Despite your emotionless eyes, and how you never cared of what's going on around you. But the way you speak and the way you see things, it feels like you are basing them on your emotions," Shigure commented.
"Am I now? Who knows, I can define all those emotions but to truly feel them, I don't think I can."
"Why do you choose to take control of everything? Even your self?"
"If I lose control then it would be for the worst."
"Why?"
"That is a question people loved asking me, and yet it is also the most difficult question to answer."
"Even to your family?"
"Even to my family," she paused for a bit before continuing, "Why didn't you tell us? Why didn't you explain? Why did you hide everything? Why, don't you love us? All these questions will be asked and even to myself I wouldn't be able to answer. Was it because I was scared? Was it because it's already too late? Was it because I really don't love them?"
She then faced Shigure, "See, your highness, why is a very tricky question."
Shigure stared at her for a long time, before he reached out and touched the side of her eyes, "Do… you not see?"
"You have noticed?"
"Along the line, I guess. Just don't ask me how, I couldn't answer that."
"Indeed, I have no eye sight. But that also became my strength."
"Not seeing is better for me," As if reading what's on his mind, Eureka commented, "And it's also for the best for everyone."
"You keep deciding that it would be the best for those around you, but in the end you never really know. They have decisions, you don't know about. You can't read their hearts after all."
"I can't and that is why not saying anything is the best thing to do. The negative effect would be greater than the positive effect. That is for sure your highness. That is for sure," Eureka replied looking far ahead, but at the same time she's not looking at the things in front of her but instead something else. Something farther ahead.
Shigure have no more words. He barely know her, but the short time he spent with her, he knows that even Akihiro and the others who spent more time with her doesn't really know her as well.
"When?" Eureka suddenly asked.
"When what?"
"When will you subjugate them?"
"Them?"
"The silent rule's conspirators."
"I don't know, I don't even know how I will tell all those around me that I actually know. Akihiro was smart though he noticed when we were coming back."
"And the queen?"
"She was the person I have to marry."
"But you still love her."
"I do," Shigure smiled bitterly.
"Did you speak with her?"
"I… can't. I'm scared that she would retaliate?"
"Then why not ask her now?" Eureka then faced one side where the moonlight couldn't reach, and just as Shigure looked at where she's facing a person came out.
"Sana," Shigure was truly shocked, he didn't know she was there. She had the ability of hiding ones presence after all. But Eureka still knows.
"This is the first time I heard you say that you love me, but still I heard you saying it to another person," Sana started as she got closer to them.
"I..." Shigure have no words.
