Tainted sewages - 2

4 hour after, I logged back inside the game and walk toward the south gate.

Those 4 hours I spent, in reality, was eating and cooking. The thing that shouldn't have tired me; playing the game, laying in a bed, put me in a hunger strike. Usually, one sausage, a piece of bread and two eggs should've filled me completely for a whole day but not this time. I ate thrice the amount of my usual daily intake of food and still not feeling full but I stop anyway. Maybe it's because I kneed and bake the bread myself wasting little energy I had. I should've just fried the eggs and sausages and done with it.

Anyway, I finally arrive at the meeting place we're agreed on. Sure enough, I can see a big fat man standing not too far from the gate with his noticeable glittering helmet. Before I got close to him, he already waved his hands to me while yelling 'I'm here'. He looks pretty desperate, I'm sure that I'm not late so why is he acting like that?

"Let's move. Can you go alone looking for the skills? I'll go check the place we need to clean. Here's 15 gold buy the things that we probably need."

"Got it bro, leave it to me."

We part way in the street. He goes looking for the skills and item we would need later while I go straight to the south gate.

Arriving outside the south gate I follow the direction on my map. It took me 20 minutes to reach the entrance to the sewage. The sewage is below ground level by eight meter or more. Just a few steps down and the smell already jab my nose maliciously. I wonder if this smell will stay on my equipment, if so I probably need to wash it and does it need me to wash it like in reality? Heck, my imagination already ran wild only by smelling the scent of the sewage.

Inside, the sewage had a square structure with waste water running in the middle. The height to the ceiling from I'm standing on is roughly around three meter and two meter path on each side with three meter wide running water, black smelly water. Barefoot. The path is slimy and each step I take, I need to be careful not to skid into the dangerous looking tar like substance. I know it is a waste water but how come it had tar like substance?

Less than ten step I walked inside and the dim light source from the sun is already gone. Well, it's to be expect from the depth and architect of this sewage build in.

"Don't forget to buy a torch or some kind, there is no light down here. It would be close to impossible to clean this without light furthermore with rats and monster, we'll be fucked. Now I already see a rat gazing at me with its pair of red eyes. I'll try to kill the rat or something. Finish what you were doing fast."

I slowly walk closer to the rat and with my robes' on the rat won't be able to see if I take out a weapon or not. The rat is hissing at me showing its yellow rodent teeth. All of sudden the rat ran toward my leg with only three meter distance the rat instantly arrive and almost bit my left toe. I unconsciously react by kicking the rat into the other side, but with my kick and slimy ground, I slipped and almost dunk myself into the black water.

I stand up and look around for any source of danger then back off toward the entrance.

I sat at the stone stair near the entrance and sniff around my body. Yep, my body reeks of sewage odor. Then I finally notice that my health is down to 30 and increase by 10, and then decrease by 5. I check my status and I got infected by level 1 Disease condition dealing Damage Over Time but currently being countered by my Regen skill.

Less than two minutes was the time I stood inside and I already lost 60% of my health. Considering my Regen skill I probably lose more than that but it shouldn't be possible with my Regen overpowering the DOT it deals on me.

I wait until I regain most of my health and once again step inside. This time I watch my health bar carefully and the damage is increased three times as I stand outside. Checking my status, the condition shows I got infected with level 2 Disease. I don't know if the condition will worsen if I walk deeper but I don't want to take a risky move before even starting to do the quest for real. Now, my chance to clear this is less than 10% which I thought 40%. Can we even clear it with just the two of us?

I contact Rudy and told him about the current circumstance.

"Rudy we're in predicament right now. A few steps inside and I already infected with level 1 Disease which decrease my health by 5 per second. The deeper I walk inside and the ailment change into level 2 Disease with 15 damage per second. My stamina already downed by half now. Can you think of any solution?"

"Well, I think health potion won't be much of help. I don't know if cleanse potion will have any effect either and a bottle cost is as much as five bottle of health potion. Wait, I already get Cleanse spell book lemme learn it and check its description… We're lucky brother, the Cleanse spell have the same function as cleanse potion and for your stamina, we can buy stamina potions or food pills or something. After I buy a few more I items I'll go there immediately."

"Okay, I'll rest here to restore my stamina and buy those food pills as well I'm running low on satiety too."

While waiting for fatso I sit again at the stair I sat previously and look at the blue sky. The sky look the same as in the real world, blue and vast. With white clouds of different shape. Same as that day, clear weather with no blemish. That day I learned that death was always near and kindness won't always get paid with kindness, the world wasn't a fairy tale where you can live happily ever after a misfortune.

I clear my thought and think how to grind for experience for my new job and skills.

I activate Boost followed by Stealth and Meditation. I can hold the skill for half to an hour if my Meditation skill active. Ten minutes doing nothing but grinding my skill while sitting I noticed that I leveled up my new job 'Berserk Assassin', probably the experience I received from Regen skill and the ailment is still active so the regen would continuously in an active state as well draining my stamina.

I didn't know how long I've been doing this because I don't check the clock on my menu and the sun has been covered by cloud for a while so I don't know how far the sun had move. I still keep doing my skill grind though its only one skill at a time supplement with Meditation to keep my force recovery at its highest point.

"Looks like it's going to rain soon." I said to no one while looking at the darkening sky.
