Zhao Zhu's Sad Story

The Yan Family is one of the top families in Treeshade City. The Yan family was known as a friendly family, they help out the common people. For example, they set their prices on medicine lower than anybody else, they would never abuse their power, and they never offended anybody. Or that was the case until yesterday.

Their pretty, smart but naive daughter decided to go after somebody that they could not have. The Mayor. There were always rumors flying around about him. He was always amiable and kind on the outside, but when somebody goes after him, they would always mysteriously missing.

Every. Single. One.

The mayor was in his position for more than 60 years and still hasn't gotten a wife. Some people even started to suspect that he was homosexual. That, of course, was not the case. He was in love with someone, she was kind, pretty and smart. What attracted him was that she was kind to everybody, no matter what person she would treat them the same.

Even when she saw him she treated him like the next person. Zhou Zhu's ego would not allow that of course, that feeling popped up at that time. Every single woman that met him always chased after him, and he was used to that, but he was tired of getting proposals every other day. This woman made him feel normal, he did not want to be normal, he wanted to be special. And to do that he wanted to dominate her, to make her treat him differently.

He tried pressuring her, threatening her, forcing her... all the methods that he could come up with. Alas all his methods did not work. The response was obvious, the more he tried to force her the more she rejected him. It got until the point that she starting to treat him different. She started hating him, she rejected all his offers and didn't bother to talk to him anymore. That was the most she could do given her personality.

That drove Zhao Zhu crazy. And of course, he needed someone to blame, he had already lost his sanity at that point about her. So he chose to blame the women that chased him, 'They must be the reason that she doesn't love me. Yes! She was jealous.' He thought in his mind.

So that is why he kills everybody that chases after him. But even after all he did, she did not respond. He tried to find her only to find out that she had gone to another continent. Even so he still kills those who chase after them in hopes that she would return and notice him.

The Yan family did not know this but they knew enough. So they tried to find help protecting their treasured daughter. They tried to reach out to everybody they knew for help. Alas their cries for help did not get responded to. Nobody wanted to offend the Mayor. He may be kind on the outside, but they were not nieve. They had seen what happened to those who offend him.

The last example was that the mayor wanted to demolish a store to put up a new one for one of his buddies. The store owner did not want to sell his shop, it was his family business that was passed down from his father.

Zhou Zhu tried doubling and even tripling the price. But no amount of money persuaded him.

"I don't care how much money you throw at me. I will not sell my shop!" He firmly said. He believed that the mayor who was always kind would not do anything despicable. He was wrong.

The next day he disappeared and his shop was replaced. And nobody asked anything about it.

Who would want to offend somebody that could do that?

But when the Yan family was really desperate for somebody to help protect their daughter as they could not do it themselves. That would basically be saying to the mayor 'You want to kill our daughter? Yeah. No.' Saying that would be cool but would get your entire family killed.

At some point in the family meeting somebody mentioned that there were people with immortal souls in the city a maybe they could get one of them to help. They were all over the city and decently strong too. One of them killed the elusive Silver Clawed bear and Silver Rhino King.They put notices all over the city that they needed help from players for something and the reward would be one half-step heaven ranked item per member.

This attracted many people but when they found out that they needed to be soul refining stage 1, most of the people left disappointed. But there was one person, White Lotus. She also happened to run into the only other person who could do the quest with her.

But all of this was kept from Yan Yun at first, because she was in love with the person who was trying to kill her. She obviously would not believe that Zhou Zhu would want to kill her. So when she found out she almost had a falling out with her family.

And after that the family decided to keep her safe in the dark. Yan Yun was a bit unreasonable but she still was their family daughter. So there was an extra requirement to the quest and they upgraded the reward to a Heaven ranked item.

And it happens that White Lotus saw that An Cheng was very good at moving in and out of battles and being unnoticed. And there we are with An Cheng and White Lotus working together.
