Just as they were done talking, the waterfall stopped flowing water and completely dried up in a matter of minutes.
"Whoaa! How come the water stopped flowing?" A person nearby asked.
"I think the dungeon is opening!! Look there is a door behind the waterfall!" Another person nearby pointed and yelled.
Everyone looked at the spot where he was pointing and indeed there was a massive door, the waterfall originally covered 200 meters across and the door covered 180 meters across so the waterfall faintly covered the door enough so that people would not notice even if they looked closely.
Everyone closely watched the entrance to the door in case anybody went close to it, it got even tenser(AN: that seems like a word but just barely) than it was already was before. Everyone wanted to be first but they were too afraid that if they went first they would be the first target of everyone's attack. Well... everyone except the major NPC's that were way more powerful than all the players including An Cheng. They were the major powers from all across the continent, Sun Valley, Undying Flame, Immortal Ice, and everyone else, but they were the biggest powers, a league above everyone else. They were not nearly as tense as everyone else, they had been in these situations before, they already knew what to do.
From all their groups, one person stepped up from all of them and met up, they looked at each other and nodded.
"Ladies and gentlemen! The entrance has opened to the tomb and we all want to go in first, there are two ways to decide who goes in when, the first is to fight it out while you go to the entrance, we all know that that will be a bloodbath so why not do it the civil way? Every group will send up their strongest member and they will fight it out to decide who goes first."
Almost everyone agreed with this, it was way better than a free for all, but once they thought about it there were way too many people, the tournament would take days to a week, that was way too long to wait. That was when they continued.
"Of course there are too many people for this to be effective, so only those groups with Soul Refining and above can enter the tournament." They declared. While most of the NPC's were over Soul Refining so they did not mind so much, but for the players they were angry only major guilds higher-ups would possibly be in the Soul Refining realm, so around 85% of the groups were eliminated right off the bat, they, however, did not say anything back in response, they did not have the strength to talk, that was how this world worked, and how the real world really worked. You can't reason with a lion if you piss it off, you can't say sorry, it will kill your dumb ass without a second thought and then feed you to its children. (AN: you only get these ideas while drunk...)
Those people sighed and just went to the back of the pack to wait it out, at least they were not denied permission from entering was all they could console themselves with. The three major clans then cleared an area where they would battle.
"Now everyone who will be participating please come over here and register, you will be given a badge with a number on it, that number will be your team's number when we call your numbers you will come up and battle the number we called next. The numbers will be given based on your strength, the higher your strength the lower your number will be. Now, please register."
Everyone was surprised at how awfully peaceful it was, even the NPC's were fine with this. An Cheng naturally had no opinion on this, as long as it was reasonable he would not interject. Their team naturally decided that An Cheng was the one who would go up first, while Lucy was indeed stronger she did not have much battle experience, An Cheng could sense some people who had as much experience as he did, she would be at a massive disadvantage if she were to go up.
An Cheng went up and got in line like everyone else, there were naturally some people who were confident and with confidence comes arrogance and there were naturally some arrogant people there also, some young masters, elders, higher-ups of guilds and such. Luckily they did not act out as they were under watch from the 3 big clans, on the topic of the three big clans, An Cheng noticed that they were really well trained, they were not overly arrogant nor overbearing just very... calm and collected. An Cheng inwardly praised the clans for raising such incredible talents, he would not do any better and probably worse on their scale, each clan sent around 100 people just in case anything happened, while a tomb is very attractive they did not have much interest in it since such things were trivial to them, but they were not arrogant enough to not come, there may be some unexpected discoveries.
