A Long Odyssey (2)

"So how do you suppose it works?" Linx let go of Kavira's hand so that she could bring the staff out of her harness. She was excited, both her and Linx could see the immense power that radiated from the staff but as much as Kavira tried to use it for hours it felt useless.

She first tried to summon it's power by manipulating its energy and that didn't work. She then tried to call out some incantations that Linx provided but nothing worked. The staff wouldn't respond to her at all, unlike the swords, this staff held much deeper secrets that hadn't been provided to them.

"Do you think we should contact Cindy? Maybe looking through the ancient library might help us figure of how to use this." Linx agreed but without him knowing very much about his sisters situation he was hesitant about leaving immediately.

"We can ask Master Fei, or maybe Damon! He's come back from his year at the Yorn Temple in closed quarters, he spent three years with the fairies for the sake of reading and learning as much as he could from the ancient library when he was younger, he'll might know something." Linx was happy to provide this information but Kavira was hoping to go on an adventure.

"Sure. Is he supposed to be here today?" The sun was going down and the moon could be seen on the far east.

"Yes, he was to be here for dinner. Want to come have dinner at my house?" The two held hands as they started to walk down the mountain, after Clain left it took a month for Kavira to accept Linx's feelings but in the end she couldn't deny she had feelings herself.

She wasn't happy with the way Clain left, she also couldn't wait for someone who was so petty to do what he did. Kavira came to really care about Linx, they spent most of their days together training, eating and practicing their magical energy control. Many times when Kavira walked alone, jealous women would come up to her and tell her about how they were with Linx and that he also told them they cared about them but she would just keep walking. Linx did talk to her about how he used to be, but he felt like something changed after he met her and being that kind of person no longer mattered to him.

She believed him, trust for her meant everything and ever since she met him he's been trustworthy. They didn't display much affection other than hold hands, Linx wasn't interested in pushing her into anything. He wanted to be by her side and let those kinds of actions come naturally, scaring her off was the last thing he wanted.

"I'll come. Let me tell the General that I'll be having dinner with you and your family." She pulled out her messaging flower from her small pouch. "General, I'll be having dinner with Linx."

The General had a visit from Linx when they decided to date, he didn't want to keep their relationship a secret so he was very straight forward with the General. He admired the kids courage so he didn't reject the fact that they liked each other. "Alright, make sure that Linx brings you home after dinner. Have fun."

The General was Kavira's father figure after all, she respected the man and did her best to not worry him. "Thanks General. I'll be home soon. Eat well." She put the flower away and walked along with Linx to his house.

"Linx!! Brother is that you?" A deep voice came from the back of the room, a built man with a tall frame, blonde hair and gray eyes was smiling right at them.

"Damon!" Linx met the man halfway and hugged each other. "How have you been brother? I've missed you man!" It was the first time Kavira had met the oldest of Master Fei's sons, the second oldest left Dark City years ago and had been traveling every since. Must've been a black sheep since no one even talks about the man except to mention that he is away.

"And who's this?" Damon looked at Kavira with a pleasant smile. "Is she your girlfriend?"

"She is my girlfriend. Kavira meet Damon, Damon meet Kavira." Kavira walked up to shake Damon's hand but he pulled her into a hug.

"I'm a hugger." Damon let her go after about two seconds to turn and look at Linx again. "Is this thee, Kavira? Clain's, Kavira?"

"I'm sorry but I'm not an object, I'm no one's Kavira." She didn't mean to be rude but Damon's words bothered her.

"My apologies, I didn't mean it like that but you're right. Are you the Kavira that Clain trained so hard to protect?" Kavira nodded. Linx walked to her side putting his hands around her waist, he could feel her discomfort towards Damon but he know that his brother didn't mean any harm.

"Let's go eat." Linx cut the awkwardness with his statement and they all walked into the dining room to eat with Master Fei.
