Worstal City (2)

Twenty-Two Years Ago. The Lost Realm.

"Lily!" Wes ran to his beautiful wife with joy. He had fallen in love with her the moment he laid eyes on her. She was like the summer he always wish he had growing up. She had beautiful light brown hair and honey colored eyes just like Wes.

"Wes? What are you doing back here honey? Should you be at the mansion?" Lily was happy to see her husband but she was worried about him. She had met his mother before, of course Julia would never take a second look at the maid but that was how she and Wes met. Lily knew better than most what kind of woman Julia really was so she was always walking on eggshells when it came to Wes speaking on his mother.

"Honey, my mother and father want to meet you. She asked me to bring you over for dinner." Lily shook her head. They agreed that she was to remain hidden until she had the baby, Julia finding out would be the worst thing for them.

"You told her?" Lily was astonished. She trusted her husband but they made a promise, why would he break that.

"No, honey. Apparently someone spotted us together and informed her but I didn't tell her. She just confronted me about it and told her the truth." Lily wanted to believe that her in-laws would accept her but she already knew what the outcome would be. "Please, honey. Just give my family a chance."

Lily was a warrior in her youth but nowadays she just sat around and worked doing home chores. If anything came to it, she wouldn't be able to defend herself or her child. Wes has no idea what his mother is truly capable of.

"I want to, my love. But we promised to keep this a secret and you broke it. Now as payback, I will not be attending that dinner. I'm sorry." Lily believed it was the perfect cover up, she couldn't enter the lions den. If it was just her, fine. This child, however, didn't have it's own ability to defend itself, she wasn't just about to go through this.

Wes had never seen Lily so determined to not do something with him. It was true that he broke the promise but that was only because they had already been caught. "Lily, this isn't right. This is my family we are talking about."

"We are your family." Lily held onto her baby bump.

Wes didn't know why Lily was so defensive but they were all his family as a whole. "Lily, they want to meet you. Can you please make the effort, for me?"

Lily knew what the correct answer was in her heart but her mind won over logically. She agreed but only if he stayed by her side at all times, otherwise she would not go. Wes swore his life, he didn't know the reason but he promise his beautiful wife.

"Oh such a beautiful girl." Julia through herself onto the pregnant woman her son brought over. She embraced her with love, it warmed Wes's heart to see such a scene. He almost regretted not brining his wife earlier but that was all in the past.

"It's nice to meet you, I'm Kurt." Kurt introduced himself to Lily and vice versa. Kurt was very happy for his brother, he would finally have a nephew or niece. The only thing that bothered him was that his brother kept this a secret. They grew up together and told each other everything, somehow Kurt didn't even realize this was happening so he felt somewhat foolish.

After the greetings, the five sat around the table waiting for the great Master Xans. Once he showed up they ate in silence, it wasn't until desert was presented that Julia decided to ask question about how Lily and Wes met. How long have they known each other and when did they get married.

"We met here in the mansion, she was a simple maid. I remember seeing her a couple of times and she would always push me away. She said I was too arrogant." The table laughed but Lily looked down to her plate with a farce smile. "I insisted and insisted on having a dinner or going out to do something but she always refused until one day I knelt down and told her that there will never be anyone else for me."

Wes took her hand and kissed the top by her wrist. "After that she accepted me. We dated for a few months before I proposed, on my mission to Keero was when we were married. I'm sorry we didn't tell anyone."

Lily could feel Julia's uneasy glare. The woman was like a storm but no one could feel it unless they were her enemies. "I am more than happy to see my grandchild."

Master Xans was a gentle man, sincere with his words. Dinner ended, Wes and Lily said their goodbyes making their way back to their small home on the far side of the city. They had just reached the house when a Xans soldier appeared.

"Eldest son Wes. You have been summoned by the General, it is an emergency." Lily's eyes opened wide, it's a trap. It has to be..

"You can't go Wes. Please, stay." The wanted to hold him down and beg him not to leave but he left anyways.

"It is my duty, Lily. I'll be back soon."
