The Mysterious Child

"I found you when I was going into the inner rim to find some flowers." The woman smiled down at Lily. She could not older than her, probably eighteen/nineteen. The was incredibly youthful and full of life.

"I'm sorry, my wife can be a little meddlesome at times but she means well. We are glad to see you wake up." The man's voice was soothing but Lily still glanced over to where the voice was coking from. A tall built man with golden eyes and light brown hair, he was handsome but he was no Wes.

"That is alright, I should be thankful. I would probably still be on the ground somewhere if your wife hadn't gone looking for flowers." Lily delivered a brief smile before she felt a rough kick from her child. "Ouch!" She reached for her baby bump trying hard to hold back the pain but her baby was angry apparently.

"May I?" The woman lifted her hands over Lily before asking for permission. Lily didn't reject the woman, she was kind enough to lend her the help she needed she wasn't about to be rude. Lily nodded and the woman's hands began to radiate of some white aura, it was the first time Lily had ever seen something like this.

In no time the pain was gone and the child was calm. "You have quite the lively little boy in there." The woman smirked.

"A boy!?" Lily lifted herself up on one elbow. "I'm having a boy?" The woman realized that she may have screwed the pooch on the surprised but it was too late now. "Yes, it's a boy."

"How do you know? What was that that you just did?" Lily was skeptical, this woman brought her into her home all by herself according to what was said and she even produced a white light from her hand to calm her child.

The woman looked around to face her husband. He wasn't particularly happy that she said more than she had to but there was nothing they could do now so he gentle nodded. "I am a magic wielder." She removed the wrap from her right arm to reveal the mark of a dragon's eye. "My Binsho is healing people. I was able to calm your son with my powers."

Lily must be dreaming, magic wielders have been extinct for over three thousand years. Everyone knows this. Lily out her hand over her forehead, if this wasn't a dream then it was a hallucination.

"You're not dreaming. I really do have magic, look."

Lily opened her eyes to watch the woman juggle around a fire ball, water ball, grass ball, air ball and a white cloud ball. "I carried you here using my Irrang magic."

"But how is this possible, magic wielders are supposed to be extinct." Lily was only served with silence. What they just told her was too much as it was. Lily caught on to that and just let her curiosity go. "Let's say you are a magic wielder. What are you doing living in the outer rim?"

The woman shrugged her shoulders. "My family has lived here for generations avoiding the people living in the inner rim. We are an extinct class of people, we don't have enough knowledge to defend ourselves from people who try to harm us."

This made sense to Lily. "But why were you in the outer rim? Are you running away from someone?" The woman was curious, this woman was pregnant, why would she run when she was a short time away from giving birth.

"My mother-in-law was a threat to my child. I had to run away or else she was capable of killing us both." Lily didn't know why but she trusted these people, they were young but they seemed like honorable people.

"I understand." The woman talked over to her husband and wrapped her arms around his waist. "My name is Syra and this is my husband Kai. You can stay with us for as long as you need."

The couple invited her to eat with them whenever she felt comfortable enough to join them but Lily spent the whole night in the room instead. "You're a boy. You definitely hit like a warrior just like your father... I would love to name you after him but your grandmother would find you and try to hurt you."

Lily thought a little while long for a name. Maybe her father's name wasn't so bad, he was someone she admired as a child but lost him when she was only thirteen. "Clain it is then."

Lily was satisfied with her name of choice letting her mind darken as she dozed off to sleep.
