A Bountiful Harvest

A sound of droplets of water resounds inside the cave.

"To think that I would like to see some monsters right now, being transported in this huge dungeon slowly warps your mind. I'm so lonely, I want to see some girls, preferably a nice vase like body with supple breast and bubble butt." He realize that the torture here are not the monsters, since he see them seldom. The real threat in this situation is being alone and no one accompanies you. No matter how you distract yourself, it eats away your sanity.

"I always spend my time alone inside my room, I never thought this kind of loneliness is scary." He contemplated to himself.

*sniff* *sniff*

He smells his clothes thinking he's stink. "My odor is not unpleasant, I'm not getting hungry. My gut tells me this is not right, logically speaking." He also realize the bad thing that he's done, he excessively using his flames inside the cave. If this is on earth, he already died from carbon monoxide.

For now, he set aside this thoughts and proceed on how to find some monsters here. Even if he thinks this everyday, he will not find some answers alone. It's better to find some people here, who knows his circumstances. "Maybe I can find some adventurers, since this is a dungeon. And if this dungeon is in Nightmare mode, I can team up with strong adventurers. I just hope they don't take advantage me for being weak."

At long last, he found a monster. A giant lizard, almost like a crocodile, with dark green scales walking in all fours. The good thing is it doesn't know his presence.

*breathe in* *breathe out*

"Be strong. Be brave. Be determined!" He decides to go all out and kill this monster with minimum effort.

*ROOAAR*

Suddenly, the lizard has been crippled through fear and slowly looks at the direction of the attacker. He dashed swiftly, and when he is almost near, he use threatening roar again. "Better be safe than sorry."

Now that he's in the front of the lizard, he open its mouth without hesitation and burn it inside. Even if the monster wants to bite its attacker's head, he can't move and it frustrate it until he burns alive inside out.

"At long last, I finally gained a new ability. Iron skin, huh? Thankfully, my survivability increased again." Being relief in this goddamn dungeon is not bad, the bad thing is when you're not aware that you're still in danger. He didn't notice that someone is eyeing on him.

Suddenly, he's knock down and sent his body in the wall. "Damn, spider webs!" He can't move his body due to the stickiness of the webs. A giant spider came out from the dark, with hairy skin and dark red eight eyes. Even though he's in the corner and can't move, his brain actively thinking what possible moves that he can execute.

The giant spider leaps until a few meters is only there distance. While the giant spider is preparing to suck his blood, he is grinning because this is the chance that he is waiting.

"Flame on!"

He effortlessly burned the web and the spider's face.

*ROOAAR!*

When the spider sense that its in great danger, it wants to leap back, but the crippling fear prevents him to move.

"Sorry spidey, but our situation is now reverse." He burned the giant spider without batting an eye, only thinking what abilities that he could gain.

"So this is the feeling of betting your own life, to think I'm using myself as a bait to kill monster. If only I can perceive my enemies, I'm not going to do this kind of method." He nods while agreeing to himself.

A crystal with the same size as the bear's crystal appears. He smirks at the thought that this is want he wants, a bountiful harvest.

"So it's possible to absorb abilities, huh? That's wonderful! I hate it when I'm playing a sorcerer, and I don't know what skill will I use due to many skills but limited uses. Right now, my offensive skills are spitfire and threatening roar." It is very efficient if you have a few set of skill but you can use it with versatility.

A sound of droplets resounds the cave once again, without monster, this cave is so quiet while the dangers are still lurking, waiting for the prey to lower there guards.

Now the good thing is, he felt the effects of the expanded vision the most. It's as if his peripheral vision is also his central vision, such clarity in his eyes. "I need to adapt in my new eyesight, I can feel that this ability is the key in winning a multiple enemies."

He suddenly saw that at the ceiling, a thousand bats are resting. "Why hello there, batsy? Wanna meet spidey in afterlife? Flame on!" Without hesitation, he welcomes all the bats at the ceiling with his flame thrower killing all of them in a span of a minute.

"Eating a thousand crystal for two abilities. Yeeey..." Jack doesn't know if it's worth it to eat all of them, but he also think that living the crystals is a waste.

"Better be safe than sorry." After consuming the crystal, he just resume his walking in this lonely place.

*sigh*

"Wandering helplessly is no more." A sigh escapes in Jack's mouth while continuing to explore the inside of this cave.

*ROOAAR!*

While using his roar, Jack use his new ability echolocation to map out the entire cave. "Wow! This cave is ridiculously huge. And I pick up a strange hut inside this cave. Maybe there's a treasure chest to loot, or better yet an adventurer that resting there. I want to see people."

But before he proceed to the hut, he went first to the direction of a certain monster. A giant snake with shiny black scale. "This monster is promising, I hope I can get a useful skill in this confrontation." Filling confident he slowly approach the giant snake.

Suddenly, his instinct kicks in, telling him to dodge or he would die. Without hesitation, he dodge to his right as fast as he can and he notice that his previous location is now drenched in acid. Smoke rises in that floor and a stinky smell lingers in the area.

He leap so he can avoid stepping in the acid, and he notice that the giant snake looks at him, now preparing to spit once again.

"I won't let you!"

*ROOAAR!*

Now that Jack prevents it to spit his venomous saliva, he leap again so he can approach it without wasting his time.

"Flame on!"

Now he can relax since the giant snake is now doused in spitfire. Or not, the moment the fear effect of his roar is lost, the snake didn't wait and launch itself to hug its prey.

*ROOAAR!*

He really abused the effects of his threatening roar, the good thing is its super effective on the snake. The snake loses its grip, and Jack use this opportunity to open it's mouth and burn it inside. Unfortunately, its not working in the snakes, so he use his roar again to cripple it once more. "This is my first time encountering a monster that immune to fire. Change of plans."

He approach the now crippled snake and bites its neck. He devours the snakes blood until it dries. For some reason, he didn't fill bloated, even if he devours the thousand crystals of bats. "Die for me!" When he notice that the crippling effect is almost lost, he immediately executes his roar, then continue to suck its blood.

"Power courses through me!" He didn't dislike this kind of feeling. A new found power, but he needs to be careful, now that some of the monsters are immune to fire and this snake is stronger than the bear and the others, giving him a four abilities at once. The danger gets real the moment he prolongs his stay here, but this is also an opportunity to become stronger.

"Let's see what my new fire looks like. Flame on!" An intense flame with the color of green materialized in his palm. With additional effect of acid, he's confident that his damage power rosed up high. "What a beautiful green flames, not bad!"

Now that his business is done here, he use his hearing ability to map out again the location of the hut just to be sure. In that direction, there's no monsters that he can pick up. Thanks to his new powers, thermograph with the help of echolocation, he can find monsters that lurks in the shadows and have a lot of time to prepare if the monsters decides to ambush him.

"Oboetenai koto mo! Takusa-n attadaroouh! Daremo. Kare mo. SILHOUTTE!" Now that there's no monsters in the direction of the hut, he can practice his vocals and maybe attracts some monsters to kill.

The song reverberates in the cave, while using his echolocation to map out the cave. To think that singing can somehow help his abilities to flourish, now he can sing happily while staying vigilant in surroundings.

He finally reached his destination, the hut was so ordinary that its weird why it exist here in the cave. But it proves the point that some people might live here.

"If we're following logic here, can a monster build a hut? For now, let's say no. It's still debatable since I already met a sentient monster, which is the skeleton. I doubt he will create a hut inside this cave and live here." He looks around the hut with inquisitive look.

"Oh! So you already met Grim Reaper? How lucky of you, young lad." A hoarse voice, probably an old man, suddenly talks to Jack.

"Show yourself, you coward! If I want to, you'd be dead already." His voice reverberates inside the cave.

'Shit! my echolocation and thermograph is not working in this man. I have to bluff' Jack thought. If this old man wants only a conversation, then it's good. But right now, he has to be careful. It's possible that he might get trick, and killing him on the process.

'Better be safe than sorry'. He thought while being vigilant, preparing to attack if he sensed some danger.
