Into the Floating Cloud City

Floating cloud city.

After arriving near the city walls I was more than just surprised because the walls are at least 10 meters high and the city gate is enormous enough to let a cargo airplane move through it easily.

How did the people of this world create an enormous wall without modern technology and iron that is what makes me fascinate as I look at the walls in wonder?

"Kai stop staring at the walls and get down from the wagon we are going inside the city and the guards need to check us before letting us enter the city and we also need to make a city permit for you. " hearing mom's shout I quickly came down from the top of the Wagon before pursuing behind my parents in a hurry.

After entering the city I discovered almost all of the buildings to be made of wood and stones like the Historical Chinese and Japanese buildings.

Although some buildings are indeed made of stone however they can be counted with one hand.

After a while, as we made our way in we got the sight of more and more high rising buildings with even 3 to 7 floors high making me wonder just how was this world's architectural system works.

"What do you think about the city son? "  my father asked me with a laugh as he continued walking through the city.

"It is different than I imagined it to be. " I told him with a smile marvelous the ancient civilization and its amazing architectural wonder.

"Yes, you are right and every time I visit the city I find it amazing to my eyes and wish if we can someday live in this place. " my father said with a sigh looking at the tall wooden buildings of the city.

"Stop having wishful thinking like that even if the life in the city is safe and the profound beasts are unable to enter the facility of the city we need to remember the wealth we need to buy the smallest house is more than a few decades of our whole villages income. " my mother said with a sigh as I can understand the pain and suffering in her voice because of this problem.

"Don't worry mother when I become stronger I will buy a grand house for all of us. " I said with a serious face, not being able to endure their suffering anymore knowing how much they worry every night about our safety and most importantly on the fact that the village will be under sudden attack when we are in deep sleep and before we can even under everyone be dead.

I still remember how many times the village grandfather warned us not to go out of the path on the map or venture deep into the forest and stay with the other village wagon closely else we will become the food of some profound beast.

"Sure, you will son. " mother said with a smile as she tried to encourage me however my father refrains from saying anything knowing it will be impossible for the village to get a small house even after selling the whole of it.

So he decided to remain silent as we finally arrived at the gate of the Xia clan manor gate.

"This gate is better than all the gates we have passed so far and the manor is also huge. " I exclaimed in awe while looking at the building that is built out of wood and stone and if you ask me I will not hesitate to call it a castle that I had only seen in the picture books and television so while looking it up close is also an amazing experience for my eyes even if it's smaller than the university building from earth however we are talking about a house that doesn't have much metal in it and it's indeed the grandest house among all the house I have seen so far after transportation.

Finally, it's best if we don't mention my small house back in the village. 

"That is normal after all Lord Xia is the richest man in the city. " my father said with awe as if he is speaking about the king or someone, as I can only give a nod to his words.

"Let's get in the line with our wagon to deliver our harvests? " mother said bringing my father from his thoughts as we quickly went to the line and started waiting for our number to deliver.

"Shi Lung of the Mu bring your harvest to storehouse number 14 and get the payment for the amount you have brought. " came a shout as we quickly moved towards storehouse 14 and with my parents before we started unloading the wagon and putting the harvest in the storehouse.

After half a day of hard work, we were able to unload all 3 of our wagons, and to my surprise, I am still not as tired as I expected to become a few so much hard work.

Maybe this profound energy thingy has made our body stronger or I and my family are strong because of our hard work at the farm.

"Here are the payment for this season's harvest and the night you are allowed to stay in house number 19. " said a masculine man and before long we moved to the house they had asked us to stay.

Even though the house is not that big, however, I have th admit this house is better than the village head's house not to mention our house.

"Let's get the essential items we were asked to bring back in the village before we take a rest. " after eating some food that was provided by the Xia clan my mother asked as we left the Xia Manor not long after that.

"Here is 1 Cyan Profound Coin use it wisely Kai. " my father gave it to me with a smile as my mother added "Don't go too far from the Xia Manor and we will be back soon. "

"Isn't the Xia Manor a marchent house then why do we need to go out to buy anything. " I asked in confusion while following behind them.

"Because the things we are going to buy are normal tools and equipment while the ones that are sold in the Manor as the very high quality that will cost a lot and maybe we will be able to buy only a single item with all the Profound coins we got this time. " My father explained with a sigh as they left me to buy and spend as I please.

"Now where will I be running off all by myself? " I asked myself with confusion before walking in a random direction hoping I wouldn't get lost in the city.

As I was wandering through the market I found a shopkeeper selling apples and decided to get one for myself "Uncle how much is one Apple? "
